MRS Dees Corner -Mums On Heels

No one can deny how classy and chic a lady on heels looks.

Whether they are pumps, stilettos or wedges, they give a woman's step that extra spring and balanced gait that is lacking with flats. The right heel shoes can even turn an ordinary dress to a spectacular one.

I used to do a few heels as a single lady till I had my babies and my high heel life ended before it even started. The first time I tried them on after delivery, I couldn't stand in them for long due to pains in my hips and knees and my legs were noticeably jittery. I thought the pains and shaking would wear off with constant use but it became worse and I was forced to give it up. The doctors attributed it to loss of bone density due to multiple pregnancies.

Now I'm stuck with wearing flat shoes alone and sometimes they don't bring out the beauty in my appearance. I just admire mothers who still do heels and do so elegantly.

I wonder if this inability to wear high-heeled shoes happens to most mothers or is mine one in a thousand kind of thing?.

    2. I can't do without heels, even during my pregnancies. Once morning sickness disappears, I'm back to it then I pause until after 6 weeks when my Csection must have healed a bit.
But I've started wearing a lot of trainers now cos my house is about 20mins from the train station, but during winter I still wear boots with heels, be it wedge etc. It just makes me look elegant, comfortable and confident 😂😂.
May God have mercy on my old age though 🤷🏾‍♀️

    3. Twenty min from yours to the train station is far .you can wear flat and change later .
For me, I live less than 2 min from the train station (more like a door to door for me 😂) though my work is say 20 min away from its station so I have to wait for the company vehicle to pick me up so it’s easy for me to wear my darlings
I wear heels a lot ,say between 3 inches to 4.5inch for business and day to day activities ) i rarely wear a 5(strictly for hanging out or causal )
In total I have a little over 93 pairs of heels ,4 flat Sandals ,2 flat shoes(plus a ballerina) 12 Sneakers ,3 bedroom shoes.
Yes I wear all my shoes (i definitely have favorites lol)
No , I don’t go out of my will or break a bank to my by shoes though I have more shoes than clothes and bags combined (I’ve got say 6 decent bags ,two beach bags two back bags )
      That’s all .

  2. You're not alone. I'm practicing how to wear heels again. It may never be the way it was before childbirth cos I now struggle with my balance on heels so I go on flats.

  6. Even as a single lady, I never liked heels because of the obvious (something big and smooth😊😊 will be dancing behind me while I walked).
And for days, That "hip pain and more" -the pain in the ankles will make life miserable for some days. That is why I liked sandals and flats or just comfortable heel (e.g. 1 inch or less). My eyes opened the day I went for a check up outside the country and saw in the doctor's room the changes in the skeleton of a woman after sometime of wearing heels.😯😯😯
I wonder why ladies will structurally deform themselves in the name of wearing heels. By the time the lady is 50-60, she will be waddling like a duck 😊😊😊, coupled with osteoporosis (bone thinness as age advances), she could become bound to a wheel chair. Then she turns round to blame God for "not being kind to her".
Now on osteoporosis, our diets matter. If you love alcohol, soda drinks (the one you call "minerals" -because of lots of refined sugar and its phosphorus), you are in for earlier osteoporosis. I drink pure juice drinks or some with natural sugars. My DH always says, it either you pay now (time and cost of juices) or you pay later (health costs in later life). The juices (and lots of water) adds to my smoothness 😊😊😊😊

    3. My dear, leave oyibo. I was sitting in a court rotunda and saw a certain white lady walk in high heel shoes several times. I even whispered to y husband who stated, 'babe, those heels are working' About Noon, guess her feet hurt because the same lady was now wearing flat slippers.
I also saw another lady in the morning wear flats into the courthouse. Did not know she was an Attorney. Right before her docket, she pullet out her bag, brought out her high heel shoes and wore them before she went and stood before the Judge. I just shake head.

Is it court cases that you and your husband went abroad to entangle in?

  7. I have been wearing ridiculously high heels since my teen days so I know they fit my aesthetics better than flats. I even drive with heels on.

It's a lifestyle adjustment cos you have to get used to it before being a mom. But to avoid endangering your kids, flats and platforms to the rescue.

Best caution about high heels ..If you don't feel at ease, don't wear it. Simple.

  10. See the life of a woman always giving up something cos of marriage.

    The most Complex

    1. Not because of marriage but mostly because of child birth and getting older. So a woman that didn’t get married but still had a child can give up on heels so don’t get it twisted.

  13. That's how we were in a Management meeting and the MD's secretary passed the meeting room in her high heels. MD who was in the midst of a presentation forgot himself and was drooling! When he caught himself he made a comment about women and heels. Meanwhile this secretary is not beautiful oh. You need to see his wife! Very very beautiful!I jus tire for men. But he inadvertently announced their affair that day. That look he gave her was epic! Recently someone walked in on them 'banging' in his office. The story making rounds in the office now is the size of MD's dick. Mschew

  16. A mom here.
I think wearing heels is a lifestyle because people said that when I get pregnant and have a child, I would stop wearing heels.
    Lewwwll.
I only stopped wearing heels at 7 months! 7months!

And then 3weeks after cs, I started wearing block heel.
6 weeks later, I was back to wearing my stiletto.
2 years down the line and the naysayers have shut up about me reducing the length of my heel because they have realized this baby girl lifestyle is ready to stay 😁

Heels give you a certain oomph and sexiness that flats can never
