FG Declares Oct 1 As Public Holiday

The federal government has declared Tuesday, October 1st as public holiday to mark Nigeria's 59th Independence Anniversary Celebration Day.

The announcement was issued in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja and signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Georgina Ehuriah.

  1. We already know it but is there anything really to celebrate about Nigeria? Obviously I don't think so with the situation of things currently in the country. Is it the high profile debt the country is facing internationally or the wanton killings of innocent Nigerians? What of the dilapidated educational system and other national monument?

Independence from colonialism yet we are being colonised by our own leaders who are not just too old and weak but incompetent and clueless about the economy. I doubt if at all the Nigeria of our dream is attainable. Achebe was right after all. "There was a country"

    1. Bad roads everywhere, especially here in Abia state. Osisioma junction is flooded. The center table the governor positioned there in the name of flyover is not helping matters. Abians need help asap.

  2. @Teejay what depth of wisdom you have.
    The truth isn’t far fetched.

  3. @Teejay,what depth of wisdom you have.

  4. May this cup( government) pass over us quickly. Nothing to celebrate o. This government has finished this Country

  5. So far this country got her name from a side chick..Everything must go sideways...What independence are we celebrating when we are practicing neo-colonialism..Everyone is adopting China as a 2nd colonial master..At least I go rest well..

  6. Up APC.
    Up APC.
    Up APC.

There's nothing to celebrate how? Pls celebrate the remaining kobos in your accounts, by January you won't see pichikom in your account anymore.

    That is THE NEXT LEVEL.💃💃💃💃
