  1. What makes ladies especially feel less of human is when they are not content with what they have. Godliness with
contentment is great gain for we brought nothing into this world and we are taking nothing out of it.
So once a lady gets married, travels abroad, graduates etc. she feels that others should be subject to her.
it is is only in Nigeria that such a thing is a big deal.
Not as if that college education adds anything to their skull, just ego and pomposity.
And you will see same "graduates" following and dying to be like most foreign celebs that didn't even finish high school?
The mentality of some average Nigerian lady graduate is so skewed, biased, and bereft of sound reasoning.

  2. We all have issues in life. Anyone you see is undergoing one challenge or the other. Life na also stage by stage and turn by turn. So l don't envy anyone. Let everyone just live his or her own life. Live your own make l live my own 👌

    1. This message is for me. 2years ago, my secondary school alumni chat group decided we contribute a certain amount of money for a project in that school. I paid half and waited. When I realised less than 25% of us paid I just boned. Forgetting I owe myself to do my best and leave the rest. Maybe they didn't have. Meanwhile in private chat with some I noticed some paid x3 or 4 of the fixed amount... I feel bad but, I 'll salvage it.
      Thanx Stella.

    4. Aunty stella, thank you for this post oooh. God bless you ma. since this year started, honestly its been quite blessed i won't say otherwise. i see my classmates and i hide, infact i make sure they don't see me so we don't exchange pleasantries because i don't want anyone to put me under pressure. Until recently last week one of my course mates in the uni asked me to lend her 30k, i cried, i kept asking God what did she see in me that made her felt i could have that much to burrow someone. Live and lets live, don't pepper or pressure anyone, life na turn by turn, if person no get today e no mean say e no go get tomorrow. i didn't attend a friend wedding early this year because i cant afford the aso ebi, we were close friends way back uni days, she felt bad, ifact she did a call out on facebook because i didn't attend but then i choose to live within my means, enjoy the level i am at now. i refuse to be pressured! E GO BETTER. HUSTLE GO PAY! forgive me for any typos you see.

    1. No mind them with their useless sense of entitlement.Frankly, I feel like calling names but make I just bone, push all of them go one side. Yet, they still throng my social media page (as what, frienemies?)to look up my update. Whatever happened to my inbox and phone, did it also 'loose contact?' Na them sabi, I came alone and will leave alone. You want to be my friend, I am ever loyal, you want to feel 'important', I will help remind you that you are dust and I have seen far better human beings yet so humane. It's very common among poverty stricken oloshos who had to do aristo, housemaid etc before their new found fortune. As I no ever beg them food, wetin concern me with overload, if no be God, them for don see my yansh finish. May God give everyone common sense, amen.

    2. When l was sick last year my classmates raised 550,000 for me. One of us died this year, we raised 2.5 million for his wife and kids. One of us lost his wife mid last year, we raised 5000,000 for him to bury his wife and 670,000 for him to start a business. Currently, we are trying to raise 4 million naira to execute projects in the school. We support each other everyday and we are planning a reunion .

  4. This is so true.... Each time I come in contact with my old class mates both offline and on Facebook, they always say, how's madam and the kids? Sometimes I just answered they are fine to avoid further questions. Some even asked me how many kids you have now? Oh God!!! If only they knew I am not married yet. Funny thing is that, when you say to them you aren't married yet, they will still asked why. They will take it to be hardship or you haven't arrive yet. I hate unnecessary pressure, the reasons I don't keep friends. I also left the school old student association Facebook page cos of all these silly attitude.

    3. This is a typical Nigerian's attitude. I have a friend that before she got married, she avoided all her old school mates (both secondary and university) due to this. She even stopped visiting her village b/c they always ask her when she will 'call them to come and drink'

The pressure and competition in our society is incomparable, that one can sometimes feel like being a goat/chicken, so no one will ever bother you; LOL!

    4. Thanks for this.
As an unmarried lady at 40, with no children, i have heard it all. During my mother's birthday she kept brnging it up. I used washing the dishes and microwaving meals as an avenue to cry my eyes out. Luckily my vacation period was over and i went back to my station. Untop this life o

    6. Anno 14:13, when I was ttcing, my mum would always ask me how far all the time, one day she asked, I told her do you have any remedy to this? She said no, then I told her she should stop asking me since she couldn't do anything about the childlessness that she was putting pressure on me. Don't let anyone, I repeat anyone make you sad because of something you cannot control. Let go and let God. Cheers.

  5. I believe you as a person, should be in charge of your feelings/emotions.
All fingers are not equal and will never be. Wherever you find yourself, be happy.
Treat people nicely, you never can tell what will happen the next min.
I may not be where I want to, but no one can make me feel less, you do not have that power.
Life is beautiful and sweet, live and love it the best way you can.

  6. Omo The Hustle is real...Not only for former secondary school mates..Everything in life is live and let live..Nigeria is a country where one is discriminated when you lose your pinky finger...Its so annoying when you meet former school mates you havent seen for years..They start chronicling all their past and future achievements just to show that you are better than them...

  11. Do not give anyone the permission to make you feel less of yourself.

Do not give anyone the right to make you question or underestimate yourself.

Do not give anyone that much power or hold over you.

You are strong. You are brave. There is more to you than yesterday.

  12. One of the reasons I deactivated my Facebook account. Immediately after nysc, my friends all got into a competition of who to marry first, give birth etc & the worst of it all? Even pictures that shouldn't make it to the internet found itself there.
Wetin happen? I'll live my life at my own pace biko.

  13. I understand and agree with this write-up. It's quite unfortunate that so many of us - Africans, especially Nigerians - have not understood that there is NO COMPETITION in life/destiny. Each of us has his/her race to face and run smoothly. Although, most times, it's out of narrow-mindedness and orientation that these things happen. I've had cases where my secondary school mates got my number and called me asking how many children I now have? Imagine how I'd feel if I had none yet. I met a VERY UNNECESSARY competitive lady who came decked with bold-golden jewelries during our Postgraduate Test at Unilag. In the course of our study, she started saying all manner of lies about herself and family just to keep face when she found out that many of the ladies there, including my friend and I, are successful working class women. The most amusing was her telling us that they bought an SUV for her grand-mother in the village and another car was also packed there not being used by anybody; meanwhile it later became obvious that she/her hubby are not mobile yet.

We should learn how to handle old schoolmates that we are in contact with, some feel intimidated while others feel superior - omashe oo!!

Even the ones that were helped by man friends/sugar daddies, the ones that had to marry men because of invitation to the abroad etc all of them dey form posh. Even Dat Edo Boy that had to marry his mother's age mate for survival and money to show off in Nyanya, do romance scam from Asia to UAE and back to Nigeria still no fit take care of him sick mother or give his father a befitting burial, all of them sef dey form 'I'm important.' It is only one who has not experienced life that would look down on the misfortune of others. Last, last, nothing person go carry commot for this world even money, designers stuffs, cars, children, husband and horseband, wife, sidechic, qualifications etc, all ends here so why the stupid show?
