South Africa's National Team Women Whoop Seychelles 28-0

Imagine one team scoring 28 goals and the other none.............

South Africa’s U-17 national women team made history on Saturday by becoming the first side to win an international match in African football by a staggering margin after beating Seychelles 28-0 in their opening game at the inaugural Cosafa Championship in Mauritius.

The big win, which was recorded on Saturday during their Group B match, came two months after the country’s senior women team mauled Comoros 17-0 in the Cosafa Women’s tournament in Port Elizabeth.

The goals, The Cables reports, were shared between 11 different players, with Oyisa Marhazi and Tiffany Kortjie, two of the Bantwana forwards, grabbing double hat-tricks at the Francois Xavier Stadium.

Seychelles were participating in the under-17 level of the southern African championship for the first time. They face Botswana in their second Group B match on September 23.

The biggest margin in any international match is the 31-0 win for Australia over American Samoa in the 2001 World Cup qualification.
