    3. There are questions I read here that makes me wonder.

Been attending halloween parties for as long as I can remember in this NAIJA

Maybe your circle! I even mingled normal in Uni and my friends and I still went for Halloween parties (though it was new experience for some)

Even during service in Kwara State; my buddies still sent me invite for Halloween party at Ilorin notminding I redeployed to Lagos (I didn't attend though because I attended in Lagos).

In a nutshell, there are circles in Nigeria that do this religiously! It's NOT new to me at all...

    1. ANG thanks so much for your advice and bible passages you gave to me on Monday's IHN( I think). I was the one that asked for your help concerning dealing with sexual thoughts and urges. I screenshot your post and I've gone thru the Bible passages. Thanks a lot, they were so helpful. I also listened to some messages by Jospeh Prince concerning the same matter. It has made me to renew and strengthen my stance on remaining pure. *kisses*

The road to life is narrow and only a few find it. The road to destruction is
very wide and many enter through it. NOte that they do not need to "find it", they
      just enter through it.

    3. Halloween began as the festival of Samhain,it was part of the ancient Celtic religion in Britain and other parts of Europe. At the end of summer, the celts thought the barrier between our world and the world of ghosts and Spirits got thin. The dead come back to life. So the Celts had a big party! Stella abeg no chop my comment na! Halloween is not a Christian celebration!

  11. Halloween is a celebration to mark the coming of cold season(winter). You dress up in scary costumes to ward off evil spirits of cold. Cold is bitter and ruthless so you put scary decorations around your house etc. I don’t understand the craving for it now in a tropical region.

    1. Anon @15:17 please don't say what you don't know! Haba! Which one is cold there in the meaning of Halloween? Halloween began as the festival of Samhain,it was part of the ancient Celtic religion in Britain and other parts of Europe. At the end of summer, the celts thought the barrier between our world and the world of ghosts and spirits got thin. The dead come back to life.So the Celts had a big party. Halloween is not a Christian celebration it should not be Celebrated because there is nothing Christlike about the activities!

My child's school asked me to dress her up for this whole week in a halloween costume,i said to them i am a christian and we dont partake in that. Just for my little one not to feel bad not being dressed up like her mates in school, i just bought her normal fancy dress with nothing to do with halloween.

  22. Nkiru read and see that it’s the aspect of the dress up I wrote up there. I know its Samhain pagan roots but I only talked about the dress up aspect! Aren’t we talking about the outfit here!

  23. I’m happy you at least mentioned the end of summer so, after summer is what? Isn’t it winter. State your fact and don’t discredit another as it’s all same points under the same topic but different facets. In Halloween celebration it was thought to the Celtics that the dead came out when the cold season was almost ushered in- if winter has bitten you Nkiru before you will not blame them. If with modern technology it’s still like this- I can imagine back in those days. That was the belief! So, they in turn dress as such to blend and to ward off they also used turnips decorations around their houses which was switched to pumpkin lanterns with its entry into the US..

What Jesus Christ told his disciples /true Christians to CELEBRATE is the Holy Communion (the sacrifice of his body and blood to save humanity) using unleavened bread and wine in his REMEMBRANCE TILL HE RETURNS.

If you have not accepted Christ's free salvation and living your life for him, what you celebrate is your choice.

    Not all things are expedient.
If you want to be or live like the world, YOU CANNOT PLEASE GOD.
    It's that simple.

God knows those who live for him in spirit and truth.
