He said the Al Buraq Air with Flight No UZ389/03 and Registration No 5A-WAC arrived the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 4:10 p.m.
“The breakdown of the returnees after profiling, indicated that there were 62 female adults, 18 female children and 11 female infants along with 48 male adults, 14 male children and eight male infants.
“They were brought back to Nigeria under the Voluntary Assisted Repatriation by the International Organisation for Migration and special assistance by the European Union.
“This batch has brought the total number of Libyan-distressed Nigerian returnees to 322 within 72 hours,’’ Muhammed said.
A returnee, who is an indigene of Imo State, Ms Adaeze Nweze, told newsmen that she decided to leave Nigeria in 2015 without the knowledge of her husband because of hard life, saying that her husband could not care for her three children.
Nweze said she left Nigeria with the help of a woman she paid N1.6 million in Libya. She said she left Nigeria with a pregnancy and she tried to abort the pregnancy about six times but it failed.
She narrated that she had twins but one of the twins, a boy, died, while she brought back the girl.
Nweze pleaded that government should find a way to block the exit routes of irregular migrations, saying that many Nigerians had refused to learn from the narratives of those of them that returned.
“Presently, our girls paid up to N3 million to get to Libya now and most of them were killed.I witnessed where 10 of my friends were killed with guns and buried.
“I am in serious pains, a boy, Gift, who happened to be the only child of his parents was killed and the parents were not aware yet.
I pray that if I could be assisted with little money to operate a restaurant, I will be grateful to Almighty God,’’ she said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that other agencies that received the returnees include, the Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons.

ReplyDeleteI wanted to feel pity but I don't think I can.
My friend that had a janitorial services company, she was incharge of cleaning Dangote's buildings on d Island and she even have some expatriates building, decided to relocate to Omar. Doing house keep work.
DeleteThey had so much at their disposal and couldn’t pump it into a business. She paid 1.6m, wasn’t that wayyy to much to start a restaurant business?
DeleteImagine,Dangote cleaning jobs that even graduates will kill to get is what someone left for house girl work in Omar,ok
Delete@White enchantress you can imagine oh...Who wan give her money now...
DeleteNigerians dont ever learn from other peoples mustakes... they never listen.

a very intelligent lady.
she said she does not want to come back the way she left.
People never learn, that 1.6m would have opened food business for you here in Nigeria but you chose to leave your husband and children to go hustle Libya.Contentment is key,the grass may seem greener on the other side but its not always so.As we are saying this, many are still trying to cross to Libya
ReplyDeleteNigerians no dey...Did that woman listen to herself you gave someone 1.3million naira yet u dey look for someone wey go give you money for business for this hard knock naija area..
DeleteShe could raise N1.6m to go to Libya of all places but she couldn't put that into her family when her husband couldn't cope financially? Even abandoned her three children and went with pregnancy that refused to be aborted after six attempts. Hanty had mind to leave the country without the knowledge of her husband! Na so una own type of feminism take show? Poor man would probably have been accused of all sorts when she went "missing".

Dont mind the gbeskelemuske woman..
DeleteThis Adaeze is senseless. I only pity your children. Your husband couldn't feed your children but you had 1.6m to spend to go thru that death trap, instead of investing it in a business.
ReplyDeleteGOVT PLS DON'T CLOSE THE ROUTE!!!
Since you people have decided to be STUPID.. .... and you're not Nigeria's only problem. If you Waka anyhow, you see anyhow Nonsense. I jus dey vex😩
You really vex.

DeleteIts very annoying..She for just talk small cos she spewed her stupidity...
DeleteGovt should block which irregular route? The route she chose to go, is it a regular route of migration? Some of these people just annoy someone with their olodo-ish talks.
DeleteThat 1.6m will open and average restaurant now.
ReplyDeleteShe paid N1.6m to go suffer in Libya. She left without her husband's consent. She now wants people to donate money for her to start a restaurant. Madam na wah for you o. See your life now?. N1.6m is enough for you to start a food business in Nigeria but you decided to go waste it in Libya. I hope you have learnt your lessons.
ReplyDeletewhy on earth will i pay someone 1.6m to travel to libya of all country.
ReplyDeletewell, some didnt pay that casg but,was assisted to teavel down there with an agreement to pay back when they finally get a job but reverse is the case, they will be taken aback to know they are meant to go into prostitution before they can pay that money.

That was a close shave...You were actually about to be trafficated..
DeleteWelcome back to your father land. No place like home
ReplyDeleteShe didn't pay the 1.6m before leaving. She paid after working for it in Libya.
ReplyDeleteAnd someone out there is busy planning to go there... They ll never learn
ReplyDeleteAdaez are you sure you know what 1.6m looks like? me that don't even have up to 500k i am not planing to travel to libya but you have 1.6m to dash someone for taking you to a place you will die like rat. Madam you better go and hustle cos no one is read to give you kobo for any business. Government will not close that way to travel to libya, if you like still go back to libya again. Ewu libya.
