Foursquare also dissociated itself from the “heinous and unscriptural acts” of Igheneghu.
This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the National Secretary of the church, Rev Ikechukwu Ugbaja. Meanwhile, the statement was shared on social media by BBC reporter, Kiki Mordi.
Further, the church pledged to investigate the allegation and take appropriate sanctions.
The statement reads: “The attention of the leadership of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria has been drawn to a video clip trending on social media platforms titled, ‘Sex for grades: Undercover in West Africa Universities – BBC News’ wherein a lecturer at the University of Lagos named Boniface Igbeneghu, also described as a pastor in Foursquare Gospel Church, was allegedly involved in sexual misconduct with some female students of the university.
“The general public is hereby informed that as holiness and Bible-believing church, we do not condone such heinous and unscriptural acts among our ministers.
“We totally dissociate ourselves from the purported conduct of Dr Igbeneghu and promise to take appropriate measures as soon as the ongoing investigation is concluded.
“Meanwhile, the pastor in question has been asked to step down from all ministerial assignments.”
As part of the BBC investigations, a 17-year-old undercover reporter was used by the BBC in exposing the lecturer.
Igbeneghu, who invited the teenager to his office for a number of tutorials, subsequently began to have inappropriate conversations with her.
Despite repeated requests, the lecturer failed to react to the BBC’s allegations. Also, authorities of UNILAG dissociated itself from the lecturer’s actions.

Good move π
ReplyDeleteNice one,wow kiki Mordi now with bbc?? My sweet Colleague
ReplyDeleteShe used to work in benin city.
DeleteHis village people are at work t
ReplyDelete.
You people should leave village people alone mbok. His preeque is at work, not village people.
DeleteNo village people is at work. He should pay for his sins. Do you know how many life he must have destroy?...
DeleteThis is just the starting pointπ to all this foolish lecture that can not zip it.
Eyes are on you!πππππ
Which village people?
DeleteNope courtesy village people no even get this man address, this is all on him
DeleteA Dr friend told me this night that lots of people's dad are useless ππ it touched my soul, he has seen too much. Dear younger generation please let's do better
DeleteHe is his own village people.
DeleteEnd time Lecturer....shame on you.
ReplyDeleteNice move, good example, coza see how it is done
ReplyDelete2019, the year of exposure.
ReplyDeleteKIKI MORDI.....Congratulations. i can see that God has elevated you from being on air personal(Women Fm) to a reporter in British Broadcasting coperation.
ReplyDeleteyou derserve it. You are intelligent and your analysis and presentation(contributions) concerning any topic are ususally on point.
That will serve as a deterrence to others.
I like this
ReplyDeleteThis is the kind of progress we need in our society. Young women deserve to be educated without being subjected to sexual harassment.
ReplyDeleteGood on the church for not being silent and for not allowing his evil to flourish further
I wonder if he is married and has daughters.
ReplyDeleteHe is married. I don't know if he has daughters but that makes no difference seeing as some useless men sexually abuse their own daughters.
DeleteOA
If only all of them could be exposed in like fashion.
ReplyDeleteThis one ain't even village people, he committed a crime and is totally responsible for his actions. I'm so happy this is being corrected in my lifetime. That I live to see part of the liberation of Nigerian women. Many lecturers/students see this as normal. No it is not. It is wrong through and through. Time to face the law..crime persists when there are no consequences. Of course he had to also be a Pastor, that's what they use to deceive people into thinking they are responsible. I'm sure his likes stand up to judge roadside prostitutes, while secretly abusing students daily. Thumbs up to the journalist. Nigeria has to change for real.
ReplyDeleteNonsense, Ingredients & Boniface!
Great example from the church
ReplyDeletePainful but expedient
Remember . . .
ReplyDeletehttps://www.stelladimokokorkus.com/2013/11/sex-for-grades-in-nigerian-universities.html
Asides this one one of the ones mentioned on that post has been jailed
DeleteI just went back to the post, thanks for sharing, still very relevant. Stella can also repost may be their could be feed back from that post, was any of those lectures ever got caught.
DeleteI knew this man way back in the 90s. He owned a tutorial Centre around ejigbo then. I attended during holidays. He had always been religious and we had fellowships at lesson then. It just so unfortunate the love for women ruined him.
ReplyDeleteIt's not love for women, please. When you love someone, you protect them by any means necessary. What this man has been doing isn't out of love even for himself mbok.
DeleteOA
Church is pervs' paradise. They hide under the church and title "pastor" to commit atrocities. Your pastor is only a man of God bc he has not been caught. They are all devil incarnates. No exception
ReplyDeleteNot all. And by God's grace the wolves in sheeps clothing will be exposed. God is not asleep.
DeleteWhat's up, always i used to check webpage posts here in the early hours in the
ReplyDeletebreak of day, as i love to find out more and more.
India pipo una Don reash here?
Deleteπ€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£
DeleteNa real India pipo ππππ
DeleteGood for him. I’m happy with this. This will reduce sexual harassment from these lecturers, because they don’t know who is who, they will think twice before making any move. Thanks Kiki mordi, you have done well.
ReplyDeleteHe's ruined.
ReplyDeleteThe way this title "Pastor" has been abused in naija. Many are not even called by God nwdays.
ReplyDeletePls ladies you have no business with pastor after church service. You have the authority to pray for yourself. No one can feel your issue as you wld.
Go for service,worship.....grab your bags and go home after service. See your pastor on the pulpit and not in the office. I keep telling ppl these ppl asides being men of God are still MEN.....so be mindful.
It also applys to students. Maybe it's just me;but I never had business going to lecturers office. So they can't even know me. I go for class,do my assignments and we submit to class Rep.
ReplyDeleteOnly my course advisor who was a godly man knew me on one on one basis. He was also my project supervisor. A nice godly man.
Many of these lecturers are sick sexual predators. Watched the video ystday and I was sickened. I bet it that man has raped women both in church and in school. He's sick...worse than the Ghanian one who seems remorseful.
Then you havent met lecturers that single you out in class and decide to take it upon themselves to get you by any means even if it means failing you
DeleteBut how do your lecturers know you 1on1? 5years in school and none of my lecturers knows me. Even the one from my village my mum introduced me to never saw me until I graduated
ReplyDelete@9:52 because a he-goat lecturer did not target you.
DeleteHe will pick on you from the lecture hall, note your matric number and fail you repeatedly in a course that is an offshoot of a subject you have been acing from high school.
Try reporting him to the Head of faculty or School panel, he will gang up with his 'association of he-goat lecturers' to fail you in other courses. By the time they are done frustrating your academic destiny, you either transfer to another school relocate or go learn "cut and sew" if you don't have the means for the first 2 options.
I've heard these stories from victims.
Every student should be free to visit their lecturer without fear of harassment. It is because of this nonsense that something that is supposed to be innocent has been abused.
DeleteI said the same thing yesterday o.
DeleteAnd i also spent 5years in school.
There was no such rapport between me and any lecturers.
I never even went to see any lecturer over any carry over. I just jejely carry the load so the frequency of these repport is baffling to me. Its either that things have really changed or we were just too slack or unpretty.
Yes, I know some were doing it but it was so discreet, people like me can't point at anyone who was so treated and I only suspected one lecturer was playing with me, he didnot com eout straight and I never visited him.
Since they paste results on boards, I hardly go look for any lecturer, I check my result on the board and take it as is. As I kukma no know book too much I was never the type that will be going to follow up on lecturer for when the result will come out. Even if youno paste am I know say he don dey admin or something. I was never eager to see my odo.
Even as a student i had the mind set that failure is not the end of life you move on and try to do better. and I carried over some courses till 500l sef but I still graduated with a 2:2 and I am doing execellently well in life with a good job (official car & oversees trips); good family and social setting so ladies dont loose your dignity over what will not count in a couple of years time.
when i graduated i also heard some people slept with people to get juicy jobs, my dear i started with my 15k salary, then to N45k, then to 80k, then to N180K with some incentives, when I was ready to leave that job I calaculated all my incentives and pegged my salary to N300k and i when got fired there and took up another job for N400k. Now that job pays me about N650k monthly with all other normal nigerian system bonus (leave allowance, 13th month, perfomance bonus etc).
I have never slpet with anybody (not because I am a saint but because I find it terribly demeaning and I believe more in prayers and referrals.
When i was fired i was more than shocked but i prayed hard and called one of my former offices to ask if their offer for me to return was still open they said it was and that was it. So just pray and be good, God and people will sort you out. Failure is not the end of life abeg.
I honestly don't understand,I didn't know any lecturer only my project supervisor and that was after my seminar presentation.
DeleteCOZA members and defenders come and see how it is done!
ReplyDeleteYou defend Pastor you know no!!
Sickos perverts hiding under the guise of Pastors to sexually molest naive young women.
See how Four Square Gospel Church openly condemned this Lecturer-Pastor's evil act and sent him packing.
Shame on Boniface Igbeneghu!Useless man and father.
Lecturers sexually abusing students in Nigerian Universities is an epidemic. Now their plague has come and God will not stop until He has executed judgement on the wicked.
You defend Pastor you know *not*! (typo)
DeleteI hope Mr Egwu junior of Ebonyi state university Anatomy department with his tiny preen is reading this.
ReplyDeleteWhat are they investing again if i may ask? Wih the video evidence? Hmmm na wah oh
ReplyDeleteIs he the only predator? If he goes down, others everywhere else too must go down. Please check your horsebands at home, are they jittery over this issue? Where do they stand? Shine your eyes.
ReplyDeletePlease add Dr Obisi to list of lecturers who harass babes. Unilag Dr Obisi.
