Beevees, I need your help. Does anyone know a remedy to cure pile? My 6yr old nephew have started "shifting out" his anus. I'm beginning to worry cos we've used like 2 different local remedies & cut down on his sugar intake, but it doesn't seem to be clear off completely.

I'll appreciate inputs so that we can curb it before he's all grown up.

    2. @Allure A home remedy for him is Basil, Eucalyptus and Dogoyaro..Prepare it like Agbo and give him to drink...His diet should be rich in fibre, fruits and vegetables for now..Visit any pharmacy and ask for Epsom salts..Prepare warm water with the salt and bathe the area to help ease the pain and itching...Please monitor his bowel movement...Once he wakes up in the morning, ensure he visits the toilet..Praying for his healing..

  8. I have some thoughts to share and would appreciate some advice.

There's this girl, who I'll call my closest friend. I tell her almost all, if not all things. I tell her everything, good and bad things that happen to me, people that annoy me, experiences that have shaped me, etc

Recently, a few things are happening that are causing me to wonder if overfamiliarity has not bred contempt in our friendship.

Last week, there was a conference we were both supposed to attend as we're in the same field. She is a member of the association that heads the conference while I just decided to attend and get some knowledge. I'm not a member of the body or anything. I also decided to give a presentation. On the day of the conference, I didn't know the venue so I decided to use Google maps, which confused me more and got me lost, so I just called a taxi from where I was, which came really late. I was standing by the road for about 20mins, like a homeless person, waiting for taxi. Anyway, I finally got to the venue and first thing she says is, 'see the time you're coming and you know you have a paper to present' I felt so bad and embarrassed at the way she said it in front of the other members without even asking me what happened, and this is somebody that knows me and knows that I'm not a latecomer or an unserious person. So I told her the whole story of how I got lost and had to wait for taxi and the only thing she said was "eheeen" I kept quiet and let that one go.

Then on another occasion, I told her about a girl that called me in the middle of work and I didn't pick and I was waiting for the girl to send me a message, as she would know I was at work at that time. Next thing this my friend says is 'eh, why didn't you yourself now send her a message? If it's you that someone didn't pick your call and didn't message you, how would you feel?' I was shocked. I felt disrespected. You yourself know that if you call someone and they don't pick, next thing is to send a message. And you should not even call at that morning time when you know the person you're calling ahs work and would be busy.

I just started thinking about how this my friend never used to talk to me like this and about how it seems like I have erased boundaries and given you the license to talk to me anyhow, or is that how friendship is? Is friendship a license to talk to the other person anyhow or am I just overreacting because "that's what friends do"?

Then I was telling her of my future plans and next thing she asks is, "do your parents know about this?" and it sounded like she felt I was a child building castles in the air and didn't know what I was doing. Like she was talking down to me.

I need to know, am I just being too sensitive?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. On the second point of you sending message to the person that called you I think she is right,it's not everyone that knows that you don't pick calls in ur work place, you should have simply sent a message telling her that you are busy and will talk later.

That aside, I think you should limit what you tell people friends or not.

      Delete
    2. Well, I think ur friend is just a blunt person. I don't see anything wrong in what she did, especially that second one. If I call u and u don't pick, the onus lies on u to send me a message. I've received messages like that. Even yesterday. Called someone and he didn't pick but I immediately got a message saying 'Can I call you later'?.

I think u are proud. I really think so. Your friend was obviously worried about the paper u had to present, hence her annoyance that u came late, yet u read a whole bunch of meaning into it.

If u have a friend that can't tell u the truth then both of u are just fooling yourselves

      Delete
    3. You're definitely not being sensitive. You're just testing God and the devil at the same time. That you call someone your friend or sis, doesn't mean they take you the same way. And it doesn't mean Heaven approved of that relationship.

You're not a fool. You come across as educated, so why aren't you getting this? You had a paper to present, she didn't call you when it looked like you wouldn't make it, but you're calling her your friend. She will destroy you, if you keep her around you. You're embarrassed at the way she spoke to you in the presence of members of your professional body. The day you discover what she's been saying about you behind your back, your chest might pain you for a week.

Some people are in your life for a season, some were never meant to be there at all. Why are you telling such a person about your future plans? Can you please get and stay delivered from whom God is warning you from?

      Delete
    4. Overfamiliarity is what is causing all these. Try and step back away from her, all these will stop.

      Delete
    5. If you call her your friend then you need to come down from your high horse because I feel she told you the truth especially on that your second scenario.
You also need to limit what you tell your friends cos from this, I could sense that you're a sensitive person. Keep personal things personal and only share things that you know won't hurt you when it's been joked about.

But, you still need to come down from your high horse, I'm not saying that anything is wrong with you but taking things more easy and lightly will help you control your over-sensitivity.

      Delete
    6. Please you are being too sensitive. I haven't even read anything extreme this friend has done. There is also something wrong with the quick way you feel disrespected over petty things. My first thought about the conference was that your friend was probably stressed and hugely disappointed that you who is always punctual 'chose' that particular day to be late though through no fault of yours.
Stop being this sensitive else it would be difficult to be honest friends with you.

      Delete
    7. I also think you're being too sensitive. She's your friend and you're making it look like she should walk on egg shell around you.

      Delete
    8. It seems your friend simply lacks tact when speaking. However, if she is this way with only you, she has little regard for you.

If she was really as anxious as she came across when you eventually arrived at the conference, she would have called to check up on you.

On the other hand, perhaps if you had communicated with her, there wouldn't have been an outburst on your arrival.

In regards to the call. There is nothing wrong with you sending a message to explain to someone why you're unable to take their call. In fact, I reckon it is the done thing.

I don't understand the concept of confiding in another person about everything going on with you. Why do you seek validation from this person? Is she doing same with you? I think you're giving her too much power over you. There is no reason to be such an open book with anybody.

It seems you have very high expectations of others and that isn't a good way to be as if often leads to disappointment.

    12. I don’t think she has done anything wrong. And Yiu are unnecessarily sensitive.
She just expressed her self. If you see yourself as a good friend, why not tell her how you feel? But know that if I was her, I’d become too careful with Yiu and that would spoil thjngs.
      Calm down!
If you call me and I can’t pick, I will send you a message on why I can’t pick.
If you come late to an event That important, I may forget about your timeliness and scold youfirst(pressure of the whole thing)
If my friend tells me about their plans, depending on what it is, I’d ask if their parents are aware. I think you should have just asked her why she said that.

    16. I feel you were bring sensitive judging from the scenarios you narrated.
First point you could have called or sent her a message on the latest development eg I am stuck in traffic, I am lost etc. Better still you could have planned your day in advance since you offered to give a presentation.
Second point, you could have sent a simple text "whats up? I cant talk now " and if the person doesn't text back you have done your best

Dont read meaning into things but if you feel you are slowly being disrespected then draw the line.

We have now conveniently forgotten the mess of a country we all live in and are asking unnecessary questions at a time of grief. How many of you know what entails in your state and are now asking for accountability. Look at Don who comes from a region that is the least developed in Nigeria asking such questions when we all know full well that your state barely has infrastructure. Keep pointing fingers while forgetting to check that your area is secure. The lesson to be taken from the fire incident has been lost as usual due to tribal sentiments. 2. When God tells us to leave some people and things behind, we tend to behave as if God had water in His mouth when He spoke. Or as if we're not the one He's talking to. Toh.

After Abram's selective obedience, Lot was only mentioned in relation to his uncle when there was a problem. If his camp wasn't struggling with Abram's for what had been promised Abram (Genesis 13: 6 - 8), Lot was getting in trouble from which Abram felt compelled to rescue him (Genesis 14; 18: 17 - 33). Abram would never have been caught up in these situations if he had actually obeyed the instruction of God to leave people behind. His decision not to, also created consequences that neither he nor Lot could have foreseen - lack of available men due to their location, which wouldn't have been the case if they had stayed in Haran, convinced Lot's daughters that getting him drunk and having children by him was a good idea. Then, look at what they gave birth to - Moab and Ammon (Genesis 19: 31 - 38), the fathers of nations that would torment the Israelites (the seed of Abraham) long after he and Lot were gone.

Saul's disobedience with things and people from Amalek is what scattered God's dada finally and successfully got God to a place of no return. 1 Samuel 15 was the messup. Chapter 16 starts with the instruction to get a new king. Not only did God reject him, He rejected Saul's lineage. And some suggest that Haman was a descendant of Agag. If that's true, it means Saul's disobedience created problems for his descendant to deal with cos Esther was also from the same tribe as Saul.

Achan's disobedience (Joshua 7) in keeping what he was specifically told not to take, was the only reason for the defeat of Israel at Ai. A whole nation disgraced cos of one person that refused to do something.

But we will reduce the Spirit of God to our wrestling partner and think all can be well. He says we should leave someone. We answer "But s/he is my BFF, they will think I'm proud." He says, "Do this" and we tell Him, "But my mother said." He will tell us to drop something, we remind Him of how much money we spent acquiring it or the place we bought it. Whatever/whomever God tells you to leave behind and you refuse, WILL become a snare to you.

    5. Anon 11:28 Eh na, as God had reached the point where He couldn't be begged or negotiated with. Even the begging that Saul was trying was bringing negative result. It's dada that scattered.

  30. Nigeria is a failed country. Our leaders and we ourselves daily continue to fail us as a nation. Greed, corruption and evil keeps spreading like cancer. Once in a while you see a good deed or a beautiful act and a tiny spark of hope kindles but almost immediately, something happens and sweeps that joy away.
I detest this country and everything she stands for!
God will never come down to help people who are hellbent on being selfish and self centered and wicked.
Nothing to write home about at the federal, state, local and even at the various constituencies. Whoever has contributed to the decay and rot of this nation, may your generation spit on your grave.
RIP to everyone who lost their lives and my condolences to those who lost their livelihood yesterday at Onitsha.

  31. My heart is heavy over the news of the fire outbreak in Onitsha yesterday. Whenever I hear or read about Onitsha and Ochanja market, fond memories of childhood comes to mind. My life started right there and growing up there was both sweet and sour as most of the things I know today, I learnt in Onitsha.

It breaks my heart to know that after many years, we're still behind the clock. How can a big market like Ochanja not have a functional fire service station. I read somewhere that the only fire service station in Anambra state is in Awka and it's even dysfunctional. And I'm like what??? The governor needs to be held accountable for this, what has he been doing as a governor for the past years that he hasn't provided fire service stations in Onitsha markets; especially Main market, Head bridge and Ochanja?
This is gross incompetence. People's sole means of livelihood have been burnt down and lives most likely breadwinners of there family, lost. We're never proactive in this part of the world and it's high time we started holding our leaders accountable.

I pray that those who have lost one thing or the other in the fire outbreak yesterday find consolation in the Lord. And may the souls of the dead rest in peace. Amen
