  1. To me, wear something you are very comfortable in, that’s not too revealing.
In my parish, trousers are not allowed though.
When I see girls wear very high heels, I can’t help but laugh coz their steps just change 🀷🏿‍♀️ some start camel walking.
I remember when one girl fell in church cos of her heels, my sisters and I couldn’t help but laugh πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ why give yourself so much stress 🀷🏿‍♀️

      "Not too revealing?"
Why should it be revealing at all?
What are you revealing and for whom are you revealing them?
What is your intent in revealing those things (breasts, buttocks, vagina, waist?)
How many weak people will stumble because of your revelations?
And how many stumbled weak persons will go to hell because of your revelations?

  2. People should be able to wear whatever they feel comfortable in to church. I love wearing short skirts or dresses and body hugging clothes and I don't see anything wrong in wearing them to church. I mean I shouldn't have a separate wardrobe for church right? Hubby wears earrings to church too. God only sees what's in our hearts.

    5. God sees our hearts yes but the same bible tells us not to do things that'll cause others to sin against God. Do you know that some ladies dress up and or dance seductively and make guys have an erection in church? God sees our hearts but the He is against certain things. Why don't I just wear a bikini to church since He looks at my heart? In all things, moderation is key biko.

      Look at these Scriptures and think;

Proverbs 7:10 Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent.
Questions: Are short skirts (not reaching the knees) and body-hugging gowns not prostitutes' attires?
What really are your (crafty) intents?
1 Timothy 2:9 -how modest are those clothes you described up there?
1 Corinthians 6:9 are those earrings on your husband not being effeminate?

How are God's people supposed to dress?
    Ajuju number two:
1 Timothy 2: 9Likewise, I want the women to adorn themselves with RESPECTABLE APPAREL WITH MODESTY, and with self-control, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10but with good deeds, as is proper for women who profess to worship God.…

You see as (Word of) God yarn am?

accommodates my behind. If I try am,
pastor no go fit preach and I want
the people of God whom I love to hear God's Word. So I make my skirts and gowns loose at the hips 😊😊
The one we read in Proverbs above talks about the "cunning in heart" or crafty intent. When you dress up with
the intent to seduce pastor/members and not to please your husband or Jesus, no be prostitute uniform you wear for ya body and heart?

You typed the truth up there. A cloth for e.g. jean that is appropriate in a church in say
USA, may not be appropriate in Nigeria. In a middle east church, you will see them wear hijab
which is appropriate and sensible there but not here in Nigeria. Even jeans can be worn sensibly
and not wearing tight jean that displays all the butts and camel toes etc.
But what confuses me about your quoting of Scriptures is that you do not have any qualms about
fornication which same Scriptures in 1 Cor. 6:18 says we should flee. You talk so freely how you
sleep with a man that has not married you. Please if I am wrong correct me. I am being sincere here

Thanks for your sincere response. Let me make a sincere suggestion. You know from the Scriptures that once a man pays a lady's bride price, that man has married the lady; right? Why not do it right, that way?

And you know these Scriptures too:

Hebrews 10:26If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

Luke 12:47 That servant who knows his master’s will but does not get ready or follow his instructions will be beaten with many blows.

Revelation 21:8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

Nice to know that and may it be "till death...".
I was only being concerned and I would have been not at peace in my conscience not
to bring up what I have always read from your comments here long before the time you
specified you married. If Jesus is your Lord and lives in your heart, your words will agree with his word
for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
You see that when it comes to family life, eternal life etc, I do not "yarn" the jokes. 😊

  10. Stella, God bless you. Like you know what has been on my mind lately (this week precisely). My church will say workers shouldn't put on trousers and apply little or no make up to church but they can put it on outside. Is that not hypocrisy?

Before I became a worker, there was this lady I saw along the road who's a worker in my church, honestly, I didn't recognise her cos I couldn't reconcile the person I use to see in skirt in church with this person in leggings walking opposite me.

My point is, if you want to be an example in dressing and total outward appearance, then let it be both in and outside the church. Dressing differently in both occasions is just living in hypocrisy (in my opinion).

I have read some not all the comments.

Fist of all you are going to church to worship God and you will definitely be observed consciously or unconsciously by people.

What is the motive of your dressing? You have to truthfully answer that question.

Remember you are not going to a club or a fashion parade. So have this in mind.

Then again you need to ask yourself how you will you dress if you were going to a job interview. Some people dress their best without anything showing. There is a word called modesty. You want to appear your best at a job Interview so you can be viewed as a responsible person. Why not when you are going to church?

We should have some respect for God. Now my opinion is on general dressing not whether or not someone wears trousers.

Then some ladies will wear short dresses and get a wrap to cover their legs. That's already a no for me. If you need an additional covering other than what you are wearing then its not for church.

Why do would you want to wear something and your boobs are popping out. Who is on display your boobs or yourself. Its so crazy when I see ladies struggling with what they are wearing in the name of being trendy.

The truth is some guys judge how modest and descent a babe is by her her dressing.

I have admired the Royals by their dressing. Nicely and modestly dressed no one can throw a shade on them as much as possible. The times I have seen them dressed maybe with a little flesh showing, there was a public outrage. But at the most they cannot be disrespected because of what they wore.

Actually some ladies do it to draw attention to themselves. They have goods for sale. And I don't think it is right. You don't have to show anything to show how nice, intelligent or hot you are.

Lets keep what is private, private. When we buy phones and iPad etc. We want to keep them covered and protected. Why can't we protect ourselves and dignity too by doing the right thing. The truth is we know what is right and we make choices. May God help us.

What is happening now in this our day shows the end is near.

We can wear anything to church without people looking like you are not dressed enough
    Jeans and shirt with sneakers
Leggins with long top to cover my booty.
Just anything you are comfortable in. Yes i do agree we should be decently dressed .
But when you go to a church where you are not judged by what you look like. You wont even see what people are wearing , you just go to church, worship andgo home.
Another positive about churches here service patapata 1:30 mins .
Mot the one that will have drama presentation, choir presentation, testimony, 10 offerings 🀣🀣🀣

    1. My dear I solidly concur with you. In Nigeria what I observe is people "do" church. They are very religious and correct (according to their churches) but they are very judgemental, they could be very mean and look down on those they feel they are better than. You see some toting big Bibles on Sunday. Yet some commit grievous sins and can be calling Jesus while committing sin. Many have no genuine love for their fellow men. May God give us the grace to serve Him.

    1. In some churches the rules and regulations become so pressing, that the pressure forces those who cannot keep up to either take a back seat or drop out. This is unfair, especially to those struggling financially. I think it defeats the purpose of church. Some are unwittingly putting burdens on people and enslaving them in the name of doctrine. They are undoing what Christ did for us for free, and putting back loads to replace the ones Jesus removed. Moderation in all things is key. Love and compassion for people, the sheep, is paramount.

  30. For me, I think anything that's not revealing, too skin tight and you're comfortable in is okay. Anything that doesn't scream how much of an attention seeker you are.
I do wear trousers to church and I'm more comfortable in it than skirts or knee length gowns. And I know some people don't approve of it so anything that suits you well but don't scream attention is a go😊

    ReplyDelete
  31. I feel dressing for the occasion is a good thing too. You can't dress for a club and then head to the church cos deep inside you, you know that you can't put on toe length flowing gown to the club. Being fashionable is when you dress appropriately for the occasion you're attending.

Guys that put on earrings, I don't even think that's a thing. I don't see any bad in it.
