  2. Yes.
The cost of wedding depends on individuals.
Have said that here before with regard
to how my DH married me.

A lot of my friends Naija girls prepare to "shake and scatter the town...pepper them...weddings" and bickering and
    chronicles day after.
They do not prepare for marriage but wedding.

  6. Yes, its enough to marry a woman where I'm from!

My question will be, after spending the 200k to get married to the woman, what will you people now live on?

Is there a savings account somewhere?

    1. Ms A, that person should remove marriage from his mind. Him never ready 😂😂

  7. Yes it's enough in Edo state. You will serve the elders biscuit and groundnut afterwards then give your guests water to drink

    3. You are right Swag Lafresh. They are not about selling of their children. They considered the wellbeing of the couple afte the wedding ceremony.

  10. Why waste money? N10k night bus will take you to Kaduna. Chop 15 strokes of cane. Buy N100 paracetamol and N300 abonikin. Total N10,400. Balance N189,600. You never marry be that? Beautiful Hausa lady for that.

  11. My answer to this question is always YES. I just think no matter how ‘expensive’ marriage rites are in a community, the poor still get married! How do they manage?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. By the language of the poor. "Let's manage" that's why you see the poor marry the poor and the rich marry the rich. Finally the rich and the poor get to do their things on their own levels

  12. You can't try that in my place o. Them sabi milk people dry.

  13. With addition of 60k to the above amount. That's all. You don't need to cook or do any other ceremony except you've got too much money. If not everything to take your bride home in my home town is 260k.

    1. Where is your area? Can l come there and carry one woman home? 😊

  14. 200k will be enough for traditional wedding (probably with change sef if it's an in house TM) in Edo state. It is the white wedding that usually takes the bulk of the money.

  16. Let’s all be honest here. Price price in my family, is five thousand Naira. The food, attires, canopies, drinks, transportation of some invited guests will run above two hundred thousand Naira. How much is beef alone sef? How much is a bag of rice? Tomatoes nko? How much is brides makeup? Hall and decor?? No peeps. Two hundred thousand Naira isn’t enough.
By the way, the Church wedding nko??

    1. What you're talking about is an elaborate wedding.

    2. That's what I'm thinking. Because in my place you must pound yam with bush meat for the elders that are present there..

Drinks and other items must be complete. They won't accept half gallon of palm oil or palm wine.. One full bag of rice and 40 tubers of native yam.. you must buy lace for the bride's mother o.

    3. As in eh,now that things are so expensive? D bribe price is always very cheap but d items to get along it is d real deal

      Delete
  17. Depends on the family. It should be enough but some families are greedy.

    1. Some families and tribe have turned their girls to money making medium.

  18. Yes , it is more than enough sef
Where I come from , bride price is five hundred naira only.

    1. Eesah, l found a better deal for you. Hurry up to Blessed Princess’s place. It’s only five hundred Naira.
In fact? I kuku dash you Blessed Princess join. Just have that amount ready. I assure you that she will make a good wife. A very good wife. Take a leap of faith.

  19. That amount is just for knocking the door. i doubt it will even be enough self

    ReplyDelete
  20. But u didn't specify which of d wedding, cos in 9ja we do observe three weddings, traditional, white and court
    If it's traditional, yes
But if it's for d three ceremony, d above money won't be enough

    ReplyDelete
  21. Is this not too much. Our bride price is like N100, it was 95k(Ninety Five Kobo) but they had to make it round figure. Then those other things they buy for Ndi Ama-Ala and Umu Nwanyi like yam, powder, shnapps etc. Wont be that expensive. So the amount will be more than enough. Those people up talking about wedding that is not what Stella asked you that's how you people fail exam.

    ReplyDelete
  22. it will be enough if well budgeted.
For it to be enough: Then you have to be strategic about it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes for average pple and it also depend on the agreement reach by the couple. In my place you can marry with as low as 20k without inviting even ur neighbour but only the two families.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I really don't give a sh**t about how much a wedding costs. I am more interested in whether you are emotionally, spiritually, psychologically and financially ready for marriage. Weddings come and go but marriage is for life. My family are very well off and we've had really elaborate weddings to an elopement. Those that last do so because the couples were prepared to work as a team regardless of circumstances.

    ReplyDelete
  25. It depends on the understand between both families. You can marry wife even with 50k all na choice

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yes did mine in July, wasn't up to 100k for the TM.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I come from maiduguri and wedding is very expensive with so many rites. BUT on the other hand if u're getting married islamically without considering all the tribes rites then with 200k you can have four wives sef. You just pay the dowry and the wife is yours.

    ReplyDelete
  28. igala from kogi state. yes you can cos in my family we dont collect any money. just bring kolanut for the family, box of clothes (the quality will be based on your earning power), jewelry etc for bride, wrapper...the most expenses are on the ceremony itself and that one you do based on your pocket
