DSS Storms Court And Re-Arrests Activists Sowore And Bakare

There was a mild drama at an Abuja Federal High Court on Friday as operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS disrupted the trial of activists, Omoyele Sowore and Olawale Bakare.

DSS operatives chased out lawyers from the courtroom and attacked journalists after which they re-arrested Sowore.

Following their invasion of the courtroom, the trial judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu adjourned the matter till February 11, 12 and 13 for definite hearing.

They had earlier attempted to re-arrest Sowore but were prevented by those around.

    3. It was very emotional for me watching that video, I was disgusted, wept and I still have a very bad headache.
For over ten years now, I have struggled and strived with little or nothing to show for it, I honestly have not felt as bad as I felt watching that video. As in , it is indeed finished.
This man and his cohorts should remember that there is a Supreme Being that rules in the affairs of men and He is IMMORTAL.

    4. This man doesn't care about laws, institutions, democracy, accountability, or anything else that will limit his nepotism, favoritism, political corruption, and abuse of power.

So sorry that Nigeria still has to endure over three years of this madness unless the Supreme Being intervenes.

    4. My friend shut up there. This is about Nigeria and not about Biafra and if you and your Kanu think Nigeria is a zoo then get the hell out of Nigeria and go to your Biafra, what’s so difficult about that. Biafra clout chaser

    5. Teejay don come with his foolishness again! Apologize to kanu for what? For spending money of his foolish and stupid followers like buoyant putting them in harm’s way? Yes, Nigeria is a zoo and you and your family are which animals in the zoo? Monkey, hyena, gorilla, orangutan, chimpanzee, hedgehog? Which ones please? Better go back to school to brush your language strength and stop calling people with gossip topics.

    1. Sealord, this is really why people can't protest.

If the judiciary can be shown this much disrespect, how much more the masses.

    2. My brother, do you see the more reason when we speak they termed it hate and bigotry? This is absolutely a desecration of the judiciary but unfortunately the NJC won't do anything. Didn't we see how the hallowed chamber of the national assemble was desecrated by the same DSS? So funny enough both the judiciary and legislature are arms of government on its own and have its exclusive rights according to the powers of separation.

So why is the executive muzzling them is one question that begs for an answer....

      Delete
    3. This is actually the reason why people should protest and come out in their mass millions. The people are millions more than the DSS, police and politicians. When did Hong Kong start their protest, they now have the backing of the US and they even celebrated and dedicated Thanks giving day in Hong Kong to thank America for their support.
The US Embassy wrote a letter to the Nigerian Government recently over their concerns about what is going on in Nigeria, that letter was written with messages between the lines but Nigerians as usual were too busy to read between the lines, sometimes it just feels like we just love to complain and not do anything to better ourselves. I am too damned drained over this. A luta continua

    1. Madam two-faced, don’t come up with this your Jona loss story please. The man and his wife stole from Nigerians and were involved in corruption like many others like them. He was butter out because of bad leadership. The fact the Buhari is messing up doesn’t mean Jona was all good. They have no difference. All incompetent and criminals. Leave your 2015 election loss behind and open your eyes.

  11. I think Buhari^s govt is just using this man to intimidate the masses. Meaning that he is scape goat. So anyone hoping to speak against the Govt will look at what befell Sowore & keep shut. This seems to be the only logical explanation. After seeing the video of how this man was treated like a common criminal in the court room, I lost every form of respect for this administration. OYO is our case in this country!

  21. So there are organizations that are higher than the Judicial arm of government? Organizations ooo, not other arms of government. To storm a court that is sitting is shameful to say the least, but it’s not telling us anything about this President that we didn’t already know before.

  22. Why is every government in nigeria worst than the last!! ....because the same old heartless ruling class continue to rule nigeria..at the expense of young able Nigerians home and abroad who can turn nigeria around!!.. .hence this shameless act of ignoring the courts!. and attempting to arrest a man whom the court have granted bail!!....Johnathan was humble enough to hand over power ...Buhari is not humble enough to understand that he is biting the same fingers that made sure he got elected!

Better go and pray, I don't know what else to tell you - cos some of the plans that were set in motion since 2015 regarding Nigeria (that you are just starting to see play out) are not what any human being can stop. If you like, believe me. If you like, don't.

When Madam Peace, asked what change we are expecting from Buhari, we laughed too.
Guess, we aint laughing no more. There is nothing democratic about this government. If, Nigeria was a Dog food brand, no one will buy it for their dogs to eat.
This blatant disrespect for the rule of law is not coming from DSS. It has to be orders from above. We know who.
