Sanusi gave this advice while speaking at the opening of the 108th edition of Islamic Vocation Course (IVC) organized by the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) Zone B, with the theme “The Unification”
Sanusi while speaking on the array of social problems bedeviling the country, insisted that the issue of Almajiri syndrome in the north is not a religious issue, but a social issue that needs urgent attention.
While maintaining that there is a need to get all out of school children back to school, Sanusi asked men to imbibe the habit of marrying the number of women they can provide for.
According to dailypost,He urged Nigerians, especially Muslims to give birth to only children they can cater for.
“If we continued this way, about 40 per cent extremely poor people will be in Nigeria. Poverty in the South West is 20 percent, in the North, it is 80 percent, Lagos is 8 per cent and Zamfara, it is 91 per cent.
“We have been talking about Almajiri for over 30 years. Why are people having families they cannot maintain? Why are people marrying wives that they cannot maintain? The condition is that you are able to provide for your family.
“Instead of having many children, why not have the ones you can cater for? These are the fundamental questions we should ask ourselves. Most of these children roaming about the streets will be adult in the next twenty years and they will be the ones recruited as political thugs by the politicians in the next twenty years, if we don’t take good care of them now. This is my own advice that we must look at. These are not religious issues, they are social issues that need to be addressed”.
Thats if they will hear, they will just give birth and scatter almajiris everywhere
ReplyDeleteThe very poor ones will not hear, trust them to be fanning their ears while he was saying that
ReplyDeleteThey have already blocked their ears with that cotton wool they farm.
DeleteWhy don't the leaders also have few know D's. Lead by example. You can't have a battalion and be convincing others to have few even if you have money they won't listen.
ReplyDeleteThe emphasis is on the number you can cater for
DeleteWhere have you been Medusa?
Like they will hear , when some Northern Muslims have determined to outnumber the Christians at akk cost.
ReplyDeleteHope they will listen.

ReplyDeleteCommon sense no tell them that one before?
ReplyDeleteThey will soon stone Sanusi for speaking the truth. It's like poor people are addicted to the cycle of poverty.
ReplyDeleteTrue talk... I wish they listen
ReplyDeleteNa poor people dey born pass..... I don’t understand how you will give birth to a child u can’t cater for.
ReplyDeleteSanusi Lamido should live by example. He has battalions of children yet he is dishing out advice or is it bcus he was able to loot the nation's treasury while he was still the CBN governor. That is was gave him liver to be dishing out advice. Pot calling kettle black. Nevertheless, I agree that parent should give birth to the number of children they can cater for. But wealth has wings. Some people gave birth to 3 children and they faced uncertainties of life and their wealth disappeared. Are we going to question those one. What if Otedola becomes poor today. Are we going to query him for giving birth to children he cant cater for. Wealth has wings.
ReplyDeleteMadam Natasha he can cater for the ones he has. So he is living by example
Deletethey will never listen, you hear comments like when you give birth to so many children then allah will bless you. Who does that ....................
