And you okrika Ramsay Bolton should know that he’s simply saying allow your wives enjoy the holiday as most women are tired and burnt out from the stress that comes with cooking, cleaning and catering for battalions during Christmas. Women will not mind sitting and drink wine or juice while hosting and laughing with friends. I wonder why you’re being so demeaning and defensive over a valid point he’s raised.

To deal with hosting stress, I have capable hands around that make the cooking a whole lot easier. If they elect to go home for the holiday I book caterers ahead that bring delicacies home for storing.

What a close friend does is that she and her husband use ready made snacks like chin chin, groundnut, biscuits, cake etc to entertain guests. She says it’s even cheaper than the food cooked and these people will still eat in other places they visit. Only immediate family and sleepover guests eat delicacies she cooks.

    2. Ivannah valid points you made.
Your first line is distasteful anyway, please calm down next time when replying inugo.

Many don't understand Noble, this a typical traditional Anambra husband but he and many others have decided to change things for good. Me no dey touch knife during Xmas period o except to slice vegetables for coleslaw or cut slices of snacks.

Cook for who and who, how many visitors? We employ cooks who have started this afternoon with small dishes by tomorrow afternoon they go full gear.

As I'm typing this, the FAMILY MEN are cooking their 3 goat heads into a peppered nkwobi sauce all by themselves after sharing their ewu umunna slaughtered for a brief meeting. Na me go cook those? Abi my mates wey dey flap their full eyelashes?
We came to rest biko after a stressed out one year in different parts of the world.

His 2nd point. When you start attending family meetings(usually from 27th to 30th, depending on the town) it's difficult to lose the values transferred to a child. The meetings are for a whole day with a 2 hour break. Men, Boys learn a lot, get wise and get prepared to take over from their daddies. My hubby started at age 9,our son goes with him now being of secondary school level, even the Yoruba boy we adopted goes too. They come home and practice the konk proverbs and antics while laughing hysterically. If Baby Lo gets to 12 he will join, certainly.

That proverb *agam egosi kwa nwam nwoke ukwu ogilisi ebe ana alogha mmuo, otokwaa tinye isi n'ofia, nke afu buzikwa okwu aka ya*
(I will show my son the awkward medicinal tree where ablusions are performed to pacify the 'gods', if he grows and decides to enter the Bush and pay ablutions under the wrong tree that's his business).

Anambra families pass on strong traditional values, have you seen any of Chief Pete Edochie's sons pick a kolanut at a ceremony, pay libation and offer words of wisdom?
      That's how they got them.
They go home, sit with the elders and lock in these values.
Chief Engr Arthur Eze just finished the rites for the Ofala festival in their town, surrounded by 1st his eldest son and other cabinet members.
You can't find his son with piercings and dreadlocks. Naaaaa.

Let's not miss the other warnings and reminders Noble is issuing. They are highly mkpacious(important).

    1. Because some women were raised to please men. For acceptance, for validation, for so many reasons. I understand cooking for your family/extended relatives but Noble is right - cooking for an entire village and getting no rest for yourself is crazy. Hire a cook, or have enough snacks..not everyone should be served food. Improve your mental health and quality of life.

  6. women shouldn't slave and endeavor to have adequate rest but the fact that a woman's place is in the kitchen should not be under emphasized. Women know your position in God's creation. Trying to dodge or claim otherwise hasn't helped matters if everyone man and woman recognise their place, there will be no debate

So, short man Tyrion, some women love to do it. The war against men is on another level in Nigeria.

Be careful of the advice you accept on social media.

That social media feminist that was always calling men scum and what not, is now pregnant for a man and she has been doing pepper dem with her man and pregnancy. But, trust Twitter savages, they took her to challenge market and use her to sweep the market streets.

    3. Aunty Cersei take it easy with the bile. We know wine and hate are your oxygen and food but pipe it down, it’s the holiday. Tis the season to be jolly.

Noble is speaking to his ethic brothers based on what he observed. For an Igbo man to say this trust me he’s seen and heard enough. Even Flavour released a song about mothers and women being relegated to domestics and not being allowed to have a voice. That’s the environment Noble’s message is intended for. Don’t shook your head inside.

I’ve had a friend hospitalized on Jan 2 because during the holiday she was as good as a donkey. One domestic activity or the other to the point that she fell sick. Some women hate the holidays because no rest especially when extended family members are around. My friend’s husband is part of the Igbo men folk Noble is taking to so let him be! Some men need to hear this.

Not everything is a “feminist” battle. It’s funny how you’re in Europe claiming that the war against men is on another level in Nigeria you haven’t been to in a while. Who told you that daft nonsense? Cersei, you know absolutely nothing.

A lot of Nigerian women are tired and cannot speak up because of certain ethnic and religious sentiments. It makes sense for a man to speak to his fellow man on their behalf. It’s on this predominantly Nigerian blog we chastise women for doing silly things or having unreasonable expectations from men. Even you quoted the way the FAKE feminist was dragged and you still think Nigerian women have an agenda against men? Let’s be objective abeg. You’re too old to have a “pick me” mentality.

You had this on a negative lock down.
Ms A was wrong but you went too deep, cool it now please because she's Yoruba and obviously doesn't understand this Noble's post.

      Ms A for the records;
Yorubas don't travel in groups, droves or as a family to their villages for Xmas in Nigeria. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Noble is trying to save the women folk from stress and tension. Most 25th dec mornings there are women who proceed to Awka the state capital 1hr plus drive from their homes to go purchase beef(raw cow meat shared in portions and according to the budget they can) from a state abattoir, not all families kill their own cow within. They arrive home at about,11am and start cooking straightaway till around 4-5pm.
No Xmas day service, steadily attending to visitors reeking of fried meat and onions.
26th they are cooking again up until new year, trust people to always show up while their husbands boast of their culinary skills. It is killing. Besides many prefer eating from some particular pots even when their own mother made tasty foods so she has to 'satisfy' basically everyone.

My hubby won't even release me to any task, reason we travel with a child minder and another help. Just set the tables and serve guests if personal in our home if not in the general sitting room or outside of the garden. All the kids ride their bikes and make a hella noise under watchful eyes. Shikena.
Child molestation and incest is real when families gather.

Dem no dey take suffering boast. Eji ró afufu anya isi!

    8. Ms. Cersei A Lannister. It will interest you to know that I am currently happily married to a man of European descent who works as an expatriate in Nigeria. His values are amazing and he’s everything I’ve ever imagined and more. I’ve got three beautiful children and with everything I’ve faced in life, my family is a major testimony that there is a God who looks over us. So your references cannot and will not move me at all. 😂😂😂

Dearest Cersei, As a child/teen I’ve been harbored by people who gave Noble the reason for his comment. As an adult I’ve also met people who need to imbibe the post from Noble. That’s where my support and “passion” is coming from. I’m not enslaved. I’m free, blessed, happy but that won’t stop me from calling you out on your acute lack of understanding. Got it?

Like you know Cersei, Tyron may be short but he’s a million times more intelligent and spot on than you can ever be. Noble made more valid points in one Instagram post that you’ve ever made in your years on this lovely blog.

I don’t need milk. I’ve produced it and I also know where to buy it. Kindly take your life lesson, sleep on it and put your mouth were you knowledge is.

My message hit you so close to home that you had to take another glass of wine and come back to insult me. 😂😂😂 If you like keep drinking in your council flat and typing intellectually handicapped nonsense. I’ve said the truth in my first comment. You may wish to read it slowly, print it and meditate on it day and night.

Good night Cersei and do have a lovely holiday 😘♥️

    The narrative is gradually changing

Many years back, mothers missed wedding ceremonies, cooking. Glad they are outsourcing that now. My Mom sometimes outsources Christmas cooking and just makes the salad. We go for mass and come home and chop better food.

  11. Our mothers and the cooking part is so true.I remember my mom telling me that she always dread Xmas in the village when we were still very little because she practically sleeps in the kitchen as the wife of the first son,no co-wife. so,it was from making breakfast to lunch and she wont even know it was Xmas. I felt so sad for her.

Use that time to visit dubai, UK, Australia, cape verde, obudu, wherever. Have a true vacation. Rest, read a book and develop that business idea or proposal. Come back refreshed in January to start the new year. Christmas must not be spent in the village. Our generation will change that narrative. 😊evilgrin

    1. The ones that listen to hypocritical social media gurus like Noble Igwe.
    2. The ones that are happily married.

How can a married woman listen to a single guy for advice on family matters? It is the same as me as a guy advising a pregnant lady on what to expect in the trimester of her pregnancy.
