Lagos Govt Says The Health Of The Italian Infected With Coronavirus Is Recovering...

The Lagos State Government says the condition of the coronavorus patient has further improved.

Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, on Saturday, confirmed that he has not developed new symptoms.

Abayomi appealed to citizens to spread of false and unverified information about Coronavirus situation.

The commissioner spoke to journalists while giving an update on the COVID-19 situation at the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, in Lagos.

Abayomi disclosed that another test will be conducted on the Italian in the next two to three days to ensure there is no more virus particles in his saliva.

The commissioner stated that he would be released back into the society soon.

On the number of people quarantined, he said: “The people at the factory in Ogun State, people in the hotel where he stayed, we are contacting those on the airline and deciding whether it is all passengers or the cabin crew members alone.

“It is a step by step decision, that is why I cannot give an exact number at this hour, but after the Emergency Operation Committee meeting, we will know”.

Abayomi said that there was an ongoing refurbishment of the facility to ensure that patients in the facility were comfortable.

The official said Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has released funds to ensure that personal protective equipment were provided for the health workers, general hospitals and major primary healthcare centres in Lagos

Abayomi debunked information that the Uber driver that brought the patient escaped quarantine.
He added that the patient had also not expressed the desire to leave the facility.

    1. 1) They knew he had the virus when he fell sick. Especially after admitting that he just arrived from Italy.

      2) it wasnt detected at the airport because he wasn't running temperature. All airports in the world na temperature dem dey check o. You cannot be running blood test for everyone that enters your country.

      3) who found out? As dem carry the man enter clinic, afraid catch the medical personnel. Dem call ministry of health immediately (who wan dieπŸ˜‚).

Na Lagos get the facility to run that test. It's just unfortunate say the man was kept in my area 😒πŸ˜₯

    2. Ask how other countries like the USA, Canada, Singapore, Denmark, France and others didn’t detect that of those who carry the virus in these countries at their airports. Everything is blame game for you all. Do you even know about the incubation period of the virus in the body? Like how long it stays in the body that makes it impossible to be detected? Read more about it before you comment. Mtcheeeew

    3. He was not detected at the airport because every illness has an intubation period, not everything is about money.

    4. Stupid comment.
You just have a fixed brain that can't process anything meaningful.
All you see and think about our country is negative..

    5. Honestly I don’t understand how some people reason. Nigeria may be bad in so many things but when they are serious about something they go all out. We may not have the best facilities to manage the patient and others who they have quarantined but we are trying so much to contain. Since Ebola, I started commending our medical team in the country. America and others we may be comparing are recording deaths than us when we had already condemned ours before it entered.

Please let’s learn to be a bit positive, commend and encourage those who are risking so much to contain this.

  3. Oh we praise God.

About now, I'm organizing garbs and all for everyone for tomorrow's service because I hate running around looking for tiny hairpins and stockings at dawn, then I picked DH's wear and asked him what sandals to match his clothes, he said he is not going for the Communion Service, 'anyi aga agwu ofu mbosi?'(are we all going to die at once?). Hahahahahaha

Why are men more scared of this corona ish?

The average Nigerian youth only want to read bad news about this country.
The same health workers you're talking about go around the world and Excel
Same people hst stopped Ebola from spreading.
Appreciate our own for once and support your country. stop looking at Europe and America, they didn't get where they are overnight.
Moreover is our people hst go there to do wonders.

  16. He was already in Nigeria before that February 25th that was publicized. The incubation period had run its course.

Know that the government limit the information released to the public on certain issues to achieve a desired purpose. They didn't want to cause panic in this case. Not that the Nigerian populace have an option of where to go or what to do on this matter.
