Mrs Dee's Corner - When Your Sleeping Hours MUST Reduce...

It's amazing the startling changes our bodies are capable of adapting to when confronted with situations that leave us with little or no choice.

Sleep is one thing I don't joke with, my siblings know not to wake me up unnecessarily when I am asleep and the number of hours I spend sleeping was sometimes up to 8 hours.

I was having a cruise with my sleeping hours until the babies came into the picture.....

now my sleeping pattern and hours have changed and reduced drastically. I have up wake up at intervals to check up on the children and wake up early enough to prepare for the day. If I get up to 5 hours of sleep a day, I consider myself very lucky.

I still think the billionaire businessman was joking when he said he gets 10 hours of sleep a day,I was like, in this Nigeria, especially Lagos, where the most spend the best part of the day stuck in traffic?

Isn't there a saying about the more successful an individual becomes, the more the responsibilities mounts? so where does the ten hours of sleep come in?

I wish I could have back my former hours of sleep. ....

*Babe you can work your way around your sleeping pattern and find your sleeping G-spot...lol

    1. A woman never sleeps the same from the time she conceives a child.
From the late night pee, to the bloated feeling. Even when they are old, you will still wake up to pray for them

  2. Oh about this my sleeping pattern is something else now. Today I did an update on my phone, so my phone was off but normally when I wake and j feel satisfy, I know it's time to prepare food for family and take kids to school. I woke up and entered the kitchen and was busy peeling yam when hubby came and told me it's 2am . I checked his phone and it was 2.06am. was I preparing food for my ancestors only God knows. Imagine I have 3more sweet hours of juicy sleep.
But no matter what happens I must sleep 9pm. Kids go to bed 8.00 it's a must cos they wake 6am dot.

      You are always tired
Taking a nap becomes something you look forward to.
I have series i have recorded but never have the time to watch
I can recite almost all their cartoons, how thats possible i dont know.
But i will never trade them for anything especially the random kisses they give me.

  4. I don't think my sleeping hours can ever reduce. It didn't reduce during exam period in my University years. The only gift I was opportune to have from God is sleep.I don't look for sleep. No amount of depression disturbs my sleep. God thank you for this gift.🙌🙌🙌

    2. Enjoy your sleep wella cos when you start having kids, things will definitely change.

Me that used to sleep under hair dryer, I even slept off while my legs were inside a bucket of water while preparing for exams, that's to tell you how 'gifted' i was with sleep. But the whole drama has changed with the two lovely kids God gave to me.

  5. since I conceived my first issue, I have never had an uninterrupted sleep. from waking up late in the night to wee during pregnancy to breastfeeding baby and attending to my Toddler in the night and the cycle continues.
I remember when I was single, I'd sleep like I was drugged, my phone was even stolen in school while sleeping, I kept it under my pillow, the person raised the pillow and stole my phone, I wasn't even aware..Now that kids are involved, I cant even sleep deep anymore

  7. time management. Plan yourself well and execute your activities accordingly. prioritize. Most people spend hrs on phone yet claim they dont have time to get Adequate sleep. Adequate sleep is not something one should compromise. Recent research is showing a direct correlation between lack of adequate sleep and cancer, obesity and a host of other diseases.

  8. It is not how many hours one sleeps that is the issue. It is how many hours of sleep that God gives us that matters.
    Why do I say that?
    Ajuju oo 😊
Psalms 127:2 ...the Lord gives his beloved sweet sleep
Eccl. 5:12 The sleep of a laborer is sweet..
Come to Jesus all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28) etc.
There is a difference between the sleep you labor to have and the one the Lord gives you.
Some people go to bed and for the 8 hours they sleep they are running, fighting, getting flogged... in their sleep. 😮😮
I know a girl who was always being flogged in her sleep, slashed with broken bottles etc. and she wakes up to see those marks. She wept most times...she had gone for "deliverance" etc. coerced to "sow seeds"... not until she gave her life to Christ and began to fast and pray at midnight did her ordeal stop. And how did it start in the first place.
    Ezigbote ajuju o...
It was when she began sleeping with her business mogul sugar (bitter) daddy that bought her a car.

For me, I set my alarm for wake up every midnight to observe my night watch. Really, the sleep I sleep after that is the sweetest. 😊😊😊😊

      Very good desire.
Just your bible (start from the New Testament, a chapter a day at least), fasting (look at at least 2-3 days of the week when you are least busy and can concentrate on your Scriptures and prayers.) To learn to fast, you can also do fruits/vegetables with time on those days. Drink lots of water. You train yourself to godliness 1 Tim. 4:5-8. It is just like training your bodies in the gymn. This is the Spiritual Jesus-inspired gymn. Gradually but steady and you will see yourself praying at midnight and enjoying to do it. Shallom. 😘😘😘

    4. You are welcome anonymous. Always begin with praises. I play my guitar when I sing during my night watches. It also helps me to be awake.

  11. one thing i miss most now. Growing up I always had clash with my dad because he complains i sleep too much. Once i don't have anything doing in the afternoon na bed get me. In the night nko, they will be watching Tv at 10pm me i don enter bed. Wake me up for morning (unless i have something important to do or plan to go out early on my own) if not you do find my trouble be that oo. Now all that is gone, I hardly get 5hrs sleep in a day. I think it is all that sleep of the past that is still keeping me oo. ah, me and sleep before ...

  12. Any day I sleep 6 hours, I have won lottery. I sleep minimum 1 am every day. I do not need timer to do midnight prayer. Once I set timer/alarm, I wake before the time and remove the alarm. I have gone 48 hours without sleep and nothing happened.
At a time, I disliked to sleep. I had this psychological challenge that life goes on while I sleep.

In the years 2007/8/9/10, I was averaging 2 hours of sleep a day. I was advised to take drugs or drinks but refused because once the body system gets used to it, that's it.

I have been a very light sleeper from time. The slightest noise wakes me and it will take minimum of 2 hours getting back to sleep.

I wish I can sleep for 6 hours.

To all that sleep 'well', enjoy.
