Oyedepo Snubs Govt Directive On Religious Gathering And Says Cure For COVID 19 Will Be Found This Week..

Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel on Sunday held service at Canaanland, Ota despite ban on religious gatherings in Nigeria over the outbreak of Coronavirus.

Oyedepo, who has been silent since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Nigeria, said the virus cannot stop God’s children.

According to him, “Only the help of God can save Nigeria and Africa in a while from this Pandemic.”

He, however, assured his members that the cure of the deadly virus will be out this week and nations shall rejoice again.

Oyedepo said: “Plagues cannot stop us. Coronavirus cannot stop God’s children, but I assure you that the solution will be found this week.

“Only the help of God can save us , our markets are open so there is no way to curb this but only God can save Africa from this pandemic

“We are a law-abiding people and pray for this to be over but we will manage this till the end.

“Strategies are being developed on how to manage this in respect to our worship programs. We will come up with specific programs during the week that will be communicated to everyone.

“Our Zonal positions may have to be enlarged to accommodate a lot of people.”

  5. He did not snub the Govt directive please.

Greetings in Jesus name. I have been directed by the APICP to let you know that LASG has ban a public meeting of more than 20 persons and the Mission has asked us to comply. In the light of this, there will be no service tomorrow, however we should hook up with Dove TV by 9:00 am for Daddy GO's message.

The aboveπŸ‘† was the directive from the church.

We don't have a good health care system, we have currently the worst govt on planet earth and instead of trying to help you're making this worse. I am so disappointed in this man...you for travel go Italy and heal the sick then since the pope cannot do it.

  11. Romans 13: 1Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

  17. Okay Amethyst, on behalf of living faith church we bid you goodbye...as long as Ure not leaving the body of Christ, its all good. Now I'll tell u what, people go to church not because they are obeying oyedepo, but because they have trust and peace in God, not in Oyedepo, and definitely not in this damned government, but in God. They find peace by being in Gods presence and in the gathering together and worship of the saints. And they trust that while they are In Gods presence, he can take care of them. That's why not only Oyedepos church was open, but a lot of other churches that have nothing to do with winners chapel were open and people still went to worship. They aren't fools, they just choose to trust God.

Enjoy your new place of worship, its Jesus we are all serving, but don't critisize one person in a bid to justify your decision and sound like u care about human lives more Oyedepo does.

    1. Thank you and God bless you @ Onion. Don't mind them. As far as the children of God are concern the church is matching on and the gate of hell including corona virus will not prevail. Instead of all of you to direct your anger at Mr president that refused to shut down borders and flight from infected countries until the virus came in,you're channeling your anger at the innocent men of God that hasn't done anything wrong. They've been praying seriously on their knees against this pandemic. If not for them things would have gone very bad.

God is everywhere, he can ans prayers in the well,People have risen from the dead without being in church so please shift. Besides the church has plenty other issues which I have observed that isn't related to this post which added to my decision. Plus He is not the reason I joined the church on the first place. 18. Who is going to enforce that these churches comply with the law? Law Enforcement Agents will have 2nd thoughts before entering a church to disrupt services because they won't want to incur the wrath of God or step on big men toes.

There are four churches within 70m radius of my house (if not more) and they all opened to conduct services blaring speakers. Not being considerate of their members or community's safety.

    May God help us.

  20. "Obey those who have authority over you." Romans 13 vs 1.

The govt has banned gatherings of more than 10 people here. A couple at my church wedded yesterday and the only people present at the ceremony were the pastors, the bridesmaid/groomsman and the photographer. All other guests attended online.

Service today was streamed from the pastor's house via Facebook.

Let that have a God-fearing faith that is neither brash nor foolhardy and does not tempt God.

Thank God for being God. I went to church and everything was fine.

That is what the devil wanted and he has gained it.

    1. Yori, it's not a matter of fear and devil blah blah.

If someone you knew had COVID19 came to church and said he wanted to find peace in the presence of God, like someone wrote up there and said he is not living by fear but by faith and he has come to pray for healing, what would you say? Would you encourage him by telling him not to listen the devil?

OK now imagine same scenario, and the person has the virus but doesn't know it yet, and doesn't even know he's spreading it and you happen to catch it because you didn't allow "fears put you at home", God will clap for you abi?

We shouldn't just be concerned about ourselves, but about putting the lives of others at risk. Many of us shouted when we read the chats of the person who went for AMVCA and has refused to call the authorities, yet we encourage people to meet because we are trusting God???

Let us reason like believers firmly rooted and grounded in the Word, who are responsible and not negligent.

And by the way, if I attended a church where the pastor openly flouts rules, I would run not walk away from that church. What example are you teaching your flock?

    2. When they say common sense is not common, people think it's a joke. If truly you understand the Bible and the time, you will adhere to simple instruction. Hope you know the pastor you are following sheepishly will run to his doctor the second he is done with you all. You have eyes but can't see and eyes and can't hear. Goodluck.

    1. Because All countries are equal, but some are more equal than others. The thing is Christians need to understand that staying home at this time is LOVING your neighbor. You are NOT being persecuted. You are being asked to stay home to prevent the spread and flatten the curve until the spread is contained. So going to church despite the health & government warning is disobedience. If however, you are stopped from church due to Christianity, then that is persecution and going to church will be a test of your faith. But for now, by going to a church of more than 50 persons, you are encouraging others to help spread the virus.

  29. Even the bible admonishes us to obey those in authority. When Jesus Christ - The Son of God was asked who to obey, He said give unto Ceaser what is Caesar's and give unto the Lord, that which is the Lord's.
God has never been an author of confusion and as a matter of fact He respects authority as recorded in the Holy Bible.

If the service conducted had more than 20people in attendance per time, then he disobeyed the authority and God would not applaud him for it.

  32. Stella get your facts right, the president of CAN gave the directives that the people who might come to church without the knowledge of the instructions to worship at the zone should not be sent out but allowed to worship at the church with adequate spacing of the worshippers where the next Sunday arrangements will be made known to them.
Initially on Saturday eve, it was broadcasted that service will not hold but for those who came to church without knowing, service was held with so much space.
Winners has the capacity to hold the church service through telecast in their various zones with less than 50 in population.
Moreover, Papa was never silent concerning the covid 19,it has been a major praying point in covenant hour of prayers held everyday

Few hours later I surprised to get another mail asking g yes to go to church. I was sad today. I stayed home . Fighting the good fight of faith is our theme for this month.
Jochebed by faith hid her son Moses
The Israelites by faith stayed in doors during the passover
Noah by faith built the arc and hid his family.

I was embarrassed for my church . May God have mercy on us.

    1. Thank you for being objective. There is no papa or boss in Christianity. It is Jesus as the first born and the rest of us as co heirs with him. Oyedepo dropped the ball on this one. The Christian thing to do is to protect your fellow brother or sister by staying home and observing hygiene and social distancing. Even Jesus at some point was sneaked out of Bethlehem for his safety when Herod was looking to kill him. He set himself apart for some time and season to fast or pray. At the tomb, he told the woman not to touch him until he had returned to God. There is a time when one needs to be isolated especially if it would help save lives.

  36. Later they should blame Buhari, I have already blamed him for delaying this lockdown, and for Oyedepo and his IPOB members? They should continue since cure is better than prevention. I am also congratulating them in advance.
