ReplyDeleteI'm so ashamed of myself right now. Pls advise me house. My 5yr old walked in on me and hubby doing it. We usually leave our room door open so they(kids) can have easy access to us at night. Saturday before dawn, when hubby started touchy touchy I went to their room to check and saw them all sleeping soundly. We did it and went back to sleep. Around 6:am my daughter came in and complained that a mosquito bit her and the spot was itching her she couldn't sleep. I told her to lie beside me.
Fast forward to afternoon. Me and her were both gisting(she loves telling me stuff) when she suddenly chipped in that she saw daddy on top of me last night when she came to complain about mosquito and she went back to her room. I was shocked. She brought two of her toys, put one on my bed face up, told it was me, then put the second toy on top of the first and started demonstrating how daddy was jacking me. I died and wok up. I was short of words. I just told her we were playing. I didn't know what to say. Pls what should I tell her so she won't see it as something serious and tell her friends in school tomorrow. She loves playing and gisting with school friends since her brother is still very small.

I think you should stick with your story cos in as much as educating our kids early on what sex is at an early stage is good, we should try not to paint a realistic picture of what the act looks like..at least, not yet at this age. Some kids can be so smart or adventurous and want to explore.

Yes I admit I'm quite rude and aggressive online, not to excuse my behaviour but it stems from two major factors, the kind of people I dislike. Liars and judgmental people.
Like I said, I have been trying seriously, working to be more believing of people and even when I don't to just totally ignore and I have been doing a good job of it. Like I can suspect you are lying and unlike the previous me, I will just waka pass.
Now, I told someone to shut her silly mouth and that was what everyone saw not what she said that made me say that.
You see someone that is already down and u decided u need to keep flogging the person. Its just like you are driving on the road and u see someone that a car hit and has broken one leg and instead of just helping, u decided to kuku break the other leg before deciding to help. Those kind of behavior totally put me off and my 'aggressive' self will just roar its ugly head again.
This is why it's very difficult for me to apologise to that lady because I actually believe she did wrong, maybe I went about it the wrong way but I'm really sorry I can't apologise for that. Would love to but then I still strongly believe that her comment was wrong.
As for that Miss Aboki, that one has been spoiling for a fight with me and even when I answer her decently (unlike me) she still keeps pushing. I already promised myself that no one would ever reduce me to that level of exchanging useless words again, never!!!! Nobody reach to do that.

ReplyDeleteBack to the crux of the matter, in response to ur opinions I'd like to emphasize that I've never absolved my dad of any blames. We all held him responsible and he's knew it . My pain is and yes I'm still hurt, truly hurt even as I type. Why will a young girl agree to date a married man? I'm a woman myself and when I was in my prime you know that period where a lady seemingly 'glows' . Lot's of married men approached me and I gave them a big no. In my opinion that's what any decent lady will do. The man is a dog agreed but what do I call the side chick? I have a daughter and everyday I'm scared she will grow up in a society that excuses the side chick and apportions the blame only to the cheating husbands. We need to educate our young girls so that they can make better decisions as adults.
I totally agree with you. BOTH parties should be blamed. Girls should have better standards rather than relying on men for money, there is no dignity in that. Men should exercise self control and discipline, they are not animals.

I don't see why you are scared. These things have always happened and our parents still raised decent males and females. Despite all happening,you can raise daughters that will never date married men and sons that will never put their wives through mental, emotional and psychological trauma.
See er, our psychological make-up is largely due to our experiences hence your fears stem from having your father introduce a she-devil into his marriage. I have no such fears because my father never messed up like that. It is also the same reason I will never say 'men are scum' because I have never had such an experience.
So I am begging these married men again in the name of the God they worship, please stop cheating.You leave permanen scars on your wives and children.

I Still have nightmares and pictures of the house we lived in still comeback as flashes. I remember everything so vividly as though it happened yesterday. Its almost 20 years that my dad passed and I still have this resentment and hatred towards cheating men and their side chicks. I don't even know how to hide it. So pardon me if I come off so strong, but I'm not going to change my opinions

ReplyDeleteNews quickly spread that my mum had gone crazy and that period was heart breaking. Even though we lived in a quiet neighborhood everyone seemed to know what was going on in each home. And even though we weren't ostracized, because my dad was very outgoing, jovial and a free giver there were lots of side talks and many of the neighbors often looked at us with pity. I don't want to dwell on those times cos as kids it was very traumatic.
And yes to the person that asked y'day about who did the wooing. Agreed my dad did some but there were tonnes of women who offered their daughters as appreciation for whatever favours he had done. It was an open secret and if you recall I said some sidechicks taunted her. On one episode My mom and I were taking a walk in the neighborhood and 2 young girls were deliberately walking behind us and talking loudly. Their discussion centred on how selfish my mom was, she didn't want to share her husband with any woman. Only her wants to be enjoying him, old woman like and that whether she likes it or not she must shift for them. They continued their nonsense. My mom ended up crying that day. I've always wondered why she didn't report all their shenanigans.
My dad started taking her to different hospitals, churches and counselling sessions. He practically became the nurse and home keeper. Becaus of the situation at home, aunt's and uncles had to come over that one alone is story for another day
You people really faced a lot as kids. Sad to read.
DeleteI was that person on paragraph two. When they offered their daughters why did your dad accept? If he was offered poison will he take it? They taunted your mom because your dad gave them that leverage. I am sorry but that's the truth. Your dad taunted your mom too and disrepected her by cheating on her so the girls followed suit. They were only following his lead in that aspect.
DeleteHe shared his body with those girls, his body which was supposed to be sacred and for his wife alone. What is left for them to respect? They were eating what your mom was eating. Your dad made them equal with your mom the moment he gave them access. You can't expect outsider who don't owe your mother loyalty to respect whom your father disrespect. Your father whom vow to honour and protect her. That discussion about your mom being selfish at the market place would never have happened if your dad was faithful.
My sister-in-law goes out and have never for one day complained that she was mocked or treated in a degrading manner by anyone. If anything, she brags about the respect she gets wherever she goes. Men and women alike revere her more than my brother her husband, because they know they need to get through her to get to him and that's how it's meant to be.

When they say money can't buy happiness best believe it. It affected my psyche growing up, when everyone was looking for tall dark rich handsome husband to marry, my naive self was looking for the exact opposite thinking that was what would make a happy home. There are other bright sides to it, I grew up a strong independent woman. I'd do any legit odd job to earn my own money. I was even ready to be a Lagos State cleaner with my msc o because I wanted my own money.my hubby knows I'm quite determined to succeed and have my own wealth. Last year I bought a piece of land in my name while, he is building properties in both our names. He knows everything about my history and understands why I want to have my own assets. I'm not going to sit down as a full time housewife and build my world around a man never. My next of kin carries my kid's name. One time I was pursuing a PhD scholarship abroad and he asked if I was going to leave him n my daughter behind should it click. My response was a big yes. I'm not going to give up my dreams on the altar of marriage or children. Of course I'd put systems in place to close some gaps but then I'm not going to be held down. I just bought one of this tokunbo cars still waiting for it to land though but I'm quite ecstatic that all the car documents are going to take my name. I still use my maiden name. My husband understands me, he knows I'm trying to prove a point that no woman should depend on a man for existence. He encourages me, we have a blissful marriage so far so good and we re both happy

ReplyDeleteYou see my mom's condition is a unique one, it's more like a mood swing thing even when she switches someone who isn't close to her might not notice. She'd start giving a long history talk of how she met my dad, how she toured the whole country with him when he went on work transfers. How she birthed her kids. She could talk non-stop for 2 hours straight and the only persons who could snap her back to reality were and my dad and big brother. If we couldn't bring her back to reality she'd ended up doing something suicidal like jumping over the balcony or walk towards a moving vehicle. I personally experienced 3 suicidal attempts it was crazy. It got to a point the whole neighborhood were always keeping tabs on her movement so she doesn't do something crazy, now as a grown woman I appreciate their efforts. My dad was always by her side he was never ashamed of her. Even though as kids then there were moments we'd tell our dad to lock her in her room, he wouldn't.

up with my dad. There was a time he went to the village for this age group thing and in his usual self had helped out one woman and this particular woman introduced my dad to her eldest daughter so she could show appreciation. The daughter had a restaurant in the city where she sold food and drinks. And my dad was so elated to know one of his kinsmen had a business in the city and he promised to bring all his colleagues and friends over to her business place.
I remember the day he was to go to her restaurant, he narrated the whole meeting to my mum. My mum was even suppose to go with him and his friends, but for whatever reasons she decided to stay back. And that was how it all started, this woman introduce my dad to her immediate younger sister who helped her out in the restaurant and that was how the affair started. Now when my mom was ill and he confessed to us his kids that he had dropped all the women. We used to have sessions at home though not regular where everyone was free to air their views without the fear of his famous 'koboko. It was always emotional, on this particular night he begged for forgiveness and confessed that he had only one 'girlfriend he was finding difficult to let go but he was going to do away with her . It so happened that during the period my mum was away receiving treatment she'd come over to the house and dropped food for my dad with the gateman. Anytime the food was brought in we' the kids would run up to the balcony to see who the person was. Initially we'd pour the food away especially if my dad wasnt around but this lady never stopped . She continued to bring the food home till one day we all started eating it ooo. This continued for a long time. The gateman was the messenger of love. My mom soon got better and came home. And she stopped everything seemed so ok and we were even planning a relocation. About 2 months had passed when one weekend, gateman brought a message. Daddy's girlfriend was at the gate and she insisted she wasn't leaving till she saw my dad. Mom went furious, dad on the other hand was trying to calm her down that he had broken all communication with her. He was a changed man. He Sha went downstairs to see the girl, we could hear him shouting. Then he came back upstairs with tears in his eyes, kneeling and begging my mom side chick was 2 months pregnant!!!!

Chizzy j you couldn't have said it any better. By the time he realized, he had done irreparable damage. Most people who mocked him couldn't do it to his face but they did it to us. He'd cry most times in the night and eventually developed hypertension. And yes I found it difficult to trust cos even the uncle's that came to stay with us when my mom was in the hospital ended up molesting me. I suffered 6 different attempted rapes from 6 different men. As a teenager My guard was up and taught myself to read red flags as a defense mechanism. I never entered into any relationship till I was 25. I never believed all those I love you' and even though I married my hubby for all the 'right' reasons. He turned out to be my God sent Angel. Sometimes I feel like I don't care for him as much as a normal wife would but then that's just who I am. He uses acts of services and words of reassurances everyday. And one time when my health failed, he risked his life for me to keep me alive. I thank God for sending him to me.

Wow! This is so God send. Went through similar story unfortunately in my case my dad left my mum and married the side chick he was seeing whilst separated from my Mum. This broke her and left her with depression, it’s only now that l can see as l was a very young child then . Mum enrolled herself for teaching training and managed to get transfer to live far away from the city to get away from everything. Though l was a young girl around 8 my mum was my best freind she would tell me all the updates from my dads marriage .. she was broken as she was still in love with him .unfortunately she developed sickness and died at tender age of 35 , l think l was ten years when she passed .my dad and his mistress got married and had kids but as karma would have it he got in trouble and died as well. I have forgiven my step mom though at times l feel resentful. She appeared to be changed woman and always support her though at times l feel sad when l remember all the things she put my mum through but it takes two to tango .He himself was a product of dysfunctional home . Looking back l still have scars from that childhood experiences and God has been faithful. I pray none of my children to ever go through what l went through ..psychological trauma is real.
