  1. SURPRISE LIFE BACK

One thing you can be certain of, is uncertainty. Life is always changing, and sometimes those changes come quickly, from out of nowhere.

Yet you have the good fortune of being highly adaptable. You are so skilled at adapting that you often transform negative developments into positive outcomes.

That’s why you can recall many times when things worked out much better than you first thought they would. You were able to successfully adapt.

What can you do when life surprises you? You can surprise life back, in ways that support your dreams, goals, values, and all you love.

Whenever the situation changes, step back and take a good, clear, updated look at reality. Commit yourself to finding a positive path through the world as it is, that leads toward what you value most.

It’s not always easy, yet it’s something you’ve been doing successfully your whole life. Adapt, and surprise life back with how well you can do so.

  3. Rhapsody Today!!

    Heaven Is Not A Promise!!
    Philippians 3:20.

    Excerpts!!

"When we say every promise in the Word of God has already being fulfilled in us the new creation, there're those who ask, what about heaven? Isn't that promised us? Heaven isn't a promise, because we were born there"

"Look at this way: perhaps, you're a citizen of the United States, living in the United Kingdom. The fact that you're not living in the United States doesn't nullify your American citizenship, neither does it make your American citizenship a promise"

"Therefore, that you're in the earth doesn't preclude you from enjoying all the blessings, rights and priveleges of your heavenly citizenship"

"According to the Bible, heaven is our home; it belongs to us now"

    Today's Confession!!

Like the Lord Jesus, I'm not of this world; I'm born from heaven and live the life of heaven now in the earth! I'm conscious of my heavenly blessings, rights and priveleges and I enjoy them to the full. Hallelujah!

  5. What we do as a family in this Covid pandemic period

I guess I may be helping someone by sharing what is happening to my family at this uncertain times:

Yes, we are all at home; 6 kids, my DH and I and a relative and we:

Observe all the medical precautions; washing hands, avoiding the crowd, resting, avoiding touching the face with unwashed hands etc. But except the Lord watches the city, the watchmen watch in vain (Psalm 127:1), so we do all these and more…
Everybody is fasting; yes, it is a period of intercession for humanity (2 Chron. 7:13-17), and for those in authority that they make the right decisions; 1 Timothy 2:1-3. We all eat one well balanced meal a day in the evening. The very small kids eat fruits during the day when they get hungry and join the family dinner. Nivevites fasted and the Lord withdrew the calamity that would have befallen their nation. We've been greatly encouraged by the Lord about what is happening to our world. If you get closer to him, he will show you great and mighty things that you do not know: Jer. 33:3
We break bread in our home daily; Acts 2:46, and like he promised in the Passover –when I see the blood, I will Passover you; Exodus 12:13, (other helpful Scriptures 1 Cor. 11:29-30, Luke 22). Beloved, the destroyer is passing by...
We do scheduled Bible studies more often and also interact with our relatives and people of God online to encourage them in these hard times; Hebrew 3:13. We do send financial aids to by online transfers etc.
We generally try to be lively by praise worship; recorded gospel songs or playing our musical instruments and singing during prayers.
I also come to SDK’s blog to catch some fun like I dey do now. Yes, and I don’t forget to keep alive my truthful yarns to all my friends.
So wetin you dey do? Ajuju o. Stay safe and God's Grace.

  6. HE'S GOT YOU.

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand” Isaiah 41:10, CSB.

Whenever I’m handing my youngest baby to my husband, I don’t let my daughter go until my husband assures me that he’s got her. Why? Because I refuse to let her fall.

Hear the word of the Lord whispering to you, “I’ve got you, My daughter! I’m holding on to you and I refuse to let you fall.”

You may be in a place you’ve never been before, seeing things you’ve never seen before, but the LORD’s got you. Your life is in His hands and your heavenly Father is holding you by His strength and power. He wouldn’t help you get to where you are and then leave you. He’s there to help you go from faith to faith and from glory to glory. Though you may feel afraid, God’s got you! Let His perfect love drive out all fear from your heart and mind, as you learn how to rest in His love for you. Remember how much He loves you as you stand in a new place you’ve never seen, before people you’ve never met, doing things you’ve never done. You are carrying God’s light like a glowing torch and His glory is rising upon your life. He is with you. He will lead you.

    He’s got you!
    Daughters of the Kings Devo.

I told my mum about her being in relationship because of our christian background when I saw where the guy said he misses her body because he his serving in the northern part of the country far from us and my sister is not happy with the distance though I did not tell my mum that part because it will shatter her ,my sister left the church she attend in school when they advise her about the relationship with the guy,the guy also attend same church, though I dont know whatthey scold them for.
I asked my mum to talk to her but not to inform her that I told her,in order to caution her since no one is stopping her for having a relationship but just for her to be smart, she and my immediate communicate better than I do with any of them

I know how to deal with sisters like you who pry a lot, envy and hide under the guise of 'older sister protecting younger sister'.

If you had a relationship, you wouldn't bother much about your sister's relationship but only about her safety and how she should be street smart.

She is your sister and not some random person. You said you two are not close..I can now see why she was never close to you because you're an amebo and an agbaya.

Instead of finding a way to draw her close so you can know what's going on in her life and help with advice where you can, you're snitching on her as if you don't know that no matter how old you are as a lady and still in your parents' house, they'd never support you having or being in a relationship.

Next time, mind your damn business if you wouldn't handle it yourself as the older sister that you are.

  50. Why are the older population so difficult to control.

I have been telling my mum how serious this corona virus is and she will be telling me its not that bad.

Everyday she will still get up and go up her store in the market saying they still need to eat.

I have asked her if she will stay home if we send some money to just stock up food this period, she agreed but her tone of voice makes me believe otherwise.

Why are they not taking this seriously abeg. Especially the uneducated ones.

    1. Please please stop generalising. My parents are part of the older population and they and their friends have been complying.
In the UK, police has had to break up raves from party goers, would I then generalise about the younger population?

    2. 09:34, do you have to take everything south? Eka is right. I hv educated older people who are very vulnerable but the are the ones ignoring directives. I've even given up and you are here spewing. Abegggiii these old people are stubborn as mules.

    5. Anon 9:34 is just an angry bird. It's not that serious aunty calm down. Eka, I agree with you jare. My parents are educated oh but dem no gree sit for one place. My mum has been going to church for all services and meetings and they both (dad and mum) even attended a wedding on Saturday. I have begged and begged. Talked and talked but for where? I called my sister the other day and asked about my dad. She said he left the house. He said he was going to visit some people. He needed fresh air. I was so angry. My parents are above 60 and I don't even want this coronavirus near them but what can I do? I know they won't take it seriously till it hits someone close. It's a very sad situation.

Honestly, husbands need to be better in protecting their wives against certain behaviours from inlaws. I have always maintained that your inlaws are as much trouble as your husbands let them.

And wives, sometimes, there is something called 'see finish'. You don't have to be all over your inlaws all the time. Someone somewhere will use the see finish stuff against you.

    2. Anon 9.53. what's really your grouse with Eka Joy?

      What exactly?

Look in the mirror- do you like what you see? Do you like what you have become?

Please, don't tell me how you are here is different from how you are in reality.

if your answer to the above is NO, it's not too late for you to change your ways.

Life right now should be spent on staying safe and drawing close to whatever you worship and not on hating Eka Joy.

      Cheers.

    3. So I have to be married for 10 years to know that it's usually the husband's fault If the inlaws are constantly harassing the wife

Abeg, it's common sense, you don't have one doesn't mean most of us don't. You better get over this my marriage already and stop being bitter about it. Its going to be a good and lasting one and when I'm still talking about it 10 years from now, I hope you would have found peace within yourself

  53. Stella why is it that you always post Don's comments when he is being a nuisance on posts but then go ahead to censor responses to them. I think Don just derives pleasure from putting people down or saying really mean things to them especially chronicle writers. I have never written a chronicle but I am an ardent reader. Moreso, he makes more than one comment on the posts all targeted towards maligning the poster. That is very unfair. We do not know the state of mind of these chronicle writers so it is very wrong to allow what I will call ' cyber-bullying' towards them.
