US Embassy In Nigeria Cancels ALL Visa Appointments

The United States has cancelled all Visa appointments in Nigeria until further notice....

The Embassy sent text messages and email to applicants who already had confirmed interview dates on Wednesday.

“As of March 18, 2020, the United States Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria is cancelling routine nonimmigrant visa appointments,” the mail seen by BusinessDay read.

It added that it “will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time.” but explained that application fees already paid by applicants would remain valid in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment.

    2. Apart from Corona, all the residents of US have quarantined themselves and most of them have been laid off their jobs. I wonder the attraction again

    3. Yes oh, someone I know recently traveled into the USA via New York to have her baby. But she had the visa before all these. I'm like in these times? Why take such a risk?

    4. Leave them alone, let them all come. Before you came in yourself, were you not warned??

    5. Anon 15:52, easy with the exaggeration. All the residents of US are not in quarantine. They were still warning Spring breakers yesterday to limit their parties and go home. And it is also quite an exaggeration to say most of them have been laid off. There are 58 states in the US, and the rate at which each state is affected by the outbreak varies.

In my city, I still went to church yesterday and eventhough it was not as full as before, people still came to church. Grocery stores are hiring like crazy right now because they need to restock.

Most people losing jobs are in the restaurant business and some energy company staff that have been furloughed.

Let's be careful with the kind of information we pass around so we do not misinformation.

I come in peace please, no insults.
