The Enugu State Police Command's public relations officer ASP Daniel Ndukwe has confirmed the arrest of a suspect at the Akwata sub-market of Ogbete market in Enugu state for allegedly poisoning 143 bags of garden eggs.
Ndukwe in a statement, said the suspect was arrested on April 8th after he was caught in the act of emptying a can of toxic liquid substance on the bags of garden eggs worth N729, 000.
The spokesman further revealed that Investigation to ascertain the real motive(s) of the suspect as well as apprehend and prosecute his accomplices to the crime is ongoing at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID)
