Bishop Oyedepo Rants Concerning COVID-19 Says The Virus Is Imported And The Vaccine Is Not A Must...

Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church, a.k.a Winners Chapel, has kicked against the bill to make COVID-19 vaccines compulsory in Nigeria.

It was reported that the bill was co-sponsored by the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, Reps Pascal Obi and Tanko Sununu.

Gbajabiamila’s Bill has since generated a lot of controversies, with critics saying that some of the provisions in the bill appear “draconian.”

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) had also alleged that lawmakers had been offered $10million to pass the Bill.

Speaking at the Church communion live broadcast , Oyedepo said gang-up agents of the devil were trying to bring a flood of evil upon humanity.

He further stated that something evil was being schemed by some individuals and that people perpetrating it don’t know why.

He said, “You must take a vaccine! Why will you force me to take a vaccine? For what?

“You don’t take vaccines, you don’t go outside the country! How? Where is it coming from?

“Evil scheming of evil men, gang up of agents of the devil, trying to bring a flood of evil upon humanity. And now from the vaccine: autism; from the vaccine: higher mortality rate of deaths.”

The cleric, however, maintained that anything that troubled God’s agenda will be troubled, adding that his outcry over the closure of churches was for the kingdom of God.

“It’s over!! Whatever troubles God’s agenda will be troubled. The most valuable asset to God is the human life.

“If you see me screaming and crying: it’s for the Kingdom, absolutely so. You mean you keep God’s people, block their access to spiritual food for 4 weeks, 5 weeks, 6 weeks, 7 weeks and you are going to the market, buying and eating with 10 fingers. You kept students from school.

“This is an imported virus, how has it become our own? Why must we now have it?There is something going on here! Something evil is being schemed by some individuals and those who are perpetrating it don’t even know,” he further stated.

  1. He's right on this one i totally agree with him 100%.Why force the vaccine on people, same messages going round and Buhari and his cohorts confirmed they've been bought and bribed. Y'all better give Gbajabiamila the vaccine first as well as his family

Anyone that sees the amount of damage this virus has done,
Doesnt prefer any solution, rejects vaccines is a Clown.
      A big time clown.
Until all our elderly ones dies off and we become elderly too and join until then...
      Anyways, what's my own.
People that will reject vaccines can help control the population if they are unlucky.
I propose, the vaccine shouldn't be free.
By the time the real cost hit them, we go know how far

    2. The answer is simple. If you do not take a vaccine, you pose a health risk to yourself and others. Vaccines are highly recommended against diseases which can't be cured. Let me see you travel to certain countries without the proper vaccination let me see if you will get past the airport. Even Oyedepo himself knows this and has been vaccinated against a number of diseases. Why the brouhaha over this if not to fuel unfounded conspiracy theories and prey on the minds of the gullible one's. Anyway I'm not surprised cos historically, certain elements in the church have always stood against science no irrespective of the benefits.
Top scientists and leaders for years have advised governments to cut military expenditure and prepare for an upcoming pandemic, did anyone listen? Now it's here and people are crying foul and pointing fingers whilst forgetting their history lessons.

    3. My dear anon,it's our lives!!! Vaccine shouldn't be imposed on anyone period. Wether it's out of good will or not,it still doesn't change the fact that they are trying to impose it.

    4. @Liz, because it's your life you should be left to pose as a health risk to yourself and others? Do you realise that your life is not yours to take? Do you even know that suicide is a crime? Funny how some people think.

    7. Liz14 May 2020 at 13:46, be crying it is your life. When you fall ill, your family will rush you to hospital for a doctor to treat. Even with a vaccine, if it does not guarantee complete immunity, that poor doctor will now risk catching covid 19 just because some silly girl decided it is her life. Does that sound fair to you? I feel the government should just get people to sign a declaration that if they do not take the vaccine and they fall ill with suspected covid 19 then they are not to be taken to a hospital. In the event that they do find their way to hospital knowing they probably have it, they the doctors have the right not to attend to them and if they survive they should be sent to jail for attempted murder.
It is very simple. Exercise your freedom of right to how you run your life, but be ready to face the consequences. You will see how many people will refuse the vaccine.

  6. I've been saying it and I must say, making the vaccine mandatory is a no no for me rather it should be optional. Do you give someone vaccine who doesn't have the virus? Why bribe the legislators to approve such a bill? Is there something they will gain from it? So many things we are not being told.

    1. Bruv, vaccines are preventive measures not treatment so yes, you give it to people who do not have the virus and people who have had the virus but didn't acquire immunity to it. And yes ot should be mandatory given the nature of the virus. Have you heard that people are getting reinfected in China?
Please let's be objective in our arguments and try as much as possible to understand before crying wolf.

    2. Teejay, oh my goodness. Did you just type this?

Vaccines are given to prevent or reduce the chances of being fatally affected if/when one gets infected.

Were you not vaccinated growing up? BCG,Smallpox, chickenpox, measles, rubella, TB, Yellow fever, flu shots (for some) etc.

      You didn't take your shots?

Let me assume that you have not had brunch so maybe.....just maybe.

      Delete
    3. Teejay!!!! Why get vaccinated when you don't have a virus? Do you know what vaccines are?

I already commented earlier but I read your comment again and I still can't believe that someone who forms "knowledgeable" will type this.

A 3rd/ 4th grader knows what vaccines are!

    4. This is the meaning of vaccine incase you don't know.

"a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases"

For the hatred you have for this administration you can't even see right and call it right instead you will twist it.

      Oga, vaccine is not treatment.

No, it didn't. I am not against any vaccine but why the rush? Why the bribery? Has it been tested, proven and certified?

    9. @Teejay, please go inquire what you were vaccinated against. Did you witness the bribes exchange hands cos you seem to be so sure that people were bribed. Now the bill you're reffering to is being expedited in order to deal with the situation in a timely manner if and when a vaccine is found. I suggest you go read up on the bill properly and compare it to the quarantine act in use, if you're as smart as you try so hard to project, you will see the need for the bill. Now, that being said, try travelling to Ghana which is next door without a yellow fever vaccination card let's see if you won't be vaccinated compulsorily or you get deported. Lol.

    11. Finally Teejay has proven to know nothing and not ready to learn. Even if Nigeria becomes great today under this government which I pray it happens he will still be against them. Obviously one of those that gain tremendously in Jona era and no nothing about being legit.

  7. But seriously, why are they trying to force this vaccine on us without proper investigation.

    1. There is no clinically approved vaccine. This is being passed i order to ensure It's smooth application when discovered. I know conspiracy theorists will come along with the "chip" argument and also say they have it and are waiting for countries to fall in line. Lol. Please note that in the world we live in today, a cover up on that scale is virtually impossible over this period of time.
It makes sense to legislate the bill into law now as opposed to doing that when it is discovered. Note that the point is to save lives.

      Delete
    2. Yet you are forming 'knowledgeable'. No vaccine is approved yet, no body knows what the side effects could and a bill is already on the way to force everyone to be vaccinated.

Let's see the vaccine at work first before talking about legislation.

      Delete
    3. @atagara, yes I will form knowledgeable because there is a laid down quality assurance process. Do you honestly think a vaccine will be rolled out for public use without proper tests and well documented observations? If that were the case by now the market would be flooded with proposed vaccines.
From your comment I see that youd rather they waited till the vaccine is discovered before the house begins the process to pass the law while people would be dying. I'm sure you'd be among those wailing about the government being slow then.

      Delete
    4. This is not the first time we are using vaccines in Nigeria and there's never been such legislation. And the fact that the cause/source of COVID 19 is controversial is enough reason to raise eyebrows and tread with caution.

      Delete
    5. @atagara, this is the first time in Nigeria since 1917 or 18 that we are dealing with a breakout of this magnitude. Our current quarantine laws are ambiguous in some areas which needs to be rectified. I'm sure that you are aware that every legislation and even the constitution are reviewed after a period of time to reflect the realities of the period.

Let oyibo people take it first, then let's see how it goes.

If they close church, they did not stop few people who comes together to pray. God is everywhere. Gather few people not up to 20 and pray against this pandemic. Agreed we all need to be in church but you can pray in your room just like the disciplines that gathered in the upper crust to pray and God heard them.

It is well with our country. We are still praying for mercies of God to heal our country

I really don't understand the hullabaloo concerning the closure of churches and covid 19. Why is it a big issue for him. I think they should grant them their wishes so we can hear word. Anybody that chooses to worship in such gatherings do so at their own risk.

    3. I honestly don't blame the Nigerian govt for being this strict cos Nig is not an advanced or civilized country. If they open the big churches, the crowd will be out of control. Where I live, churches have been allowed to open but only to 25% capacity. Yesterday I ran errands in my church area and went in for mass. To maintain the 25% attendance, most seats were sealed off. I know another church that attendance is only by invitation, in order to control the church size. Everything was well organized and cameras everywhere so no one can do anything stupid. Even Oyedepo knows that his churches abroad are subject to the law. But in Naija anything can happen. Let us all be patient and obedient at this time.

Why is the vaccine mandatory, what are the side effects of this vaccine ?

I believe before the vaccines are made available to the populace, they must have been tested and approved. There are mandatory vaccinations for newborns and even for travellers in some selected countries.
