DeleteI went through the mother in law visitation post yesterday and it prompted me to talk about that which has been bugging me for awhile now.
ReplyDeleteI'm dating this guy who is the only child of this woman. The dad has been dead as at the time he was born so he doesn't really know the father apart from the story the mum told him. The mum raised him single handedly. He is all she has got. They live together in a flat and the mum practically doesn't want him to pack out and leave her alone.
Now, to my issue. The mum is the type that yearns for attention, she always needs someone to chat and discuss with whenever she is home from work and free. The son always wants me to visit and he said he would want me to get to know the mum very well. I ve been to their house sometimes now but I am scared because, I wasn't really close to my mum. I don't really chat with her, I don't have a strong relationship with her. I don't talk to her about my problems, not even my woman's problem cause she prefare my younger sisters to me and she always makes it obvious. If not for my dad, I would have been depressed in that house or even run away because of the way she normally do treats me. She always reminds me of how she doesn't know why I have to be the first born and sometimes I feel deep inside me that she also regrets giving birth to me because of the way she treats me. ( the way I feel about her right now, if I happen to give birth, Iwont really want her to come visiting. That is how bad the situation is) It makes me so confuse and frustrated cause my (probably) future in laws mother ( I used probably because it is not official yet), I don't know how to rapour with her.
I'm also an introvert, I don't talk to much, I have my friends whom I talk with sometimes and stuff.
She always like to tell me stories whenever I come visiting but the most I do is listen, I don't even know want to say to her. I always prefare her not being around whenever I visit cause I'm always afraid and scared of going to her, sitting with her and then telling her stuff ; which I know she would really love. She has complained to the son that I prefer locking myself inside the room except of course I had something to do. But her son always defends me, but I know deep down me that he would like me to improve and get to know the mum better because he always urge me to go to the mum, 'just sit with her, you guys can be discussing anything'; whenever he is not home. I'm even scared of the mum for no reason. She is a nice person and this issue is giving me sleepless night. Even if we didn't end up together, it will still be difficult for me...
Most times I go to her, ask her about her day. She tells me stuff that happened and I would just be there thinking of something to bring up, so that I can make the environment lively but I end up being confused and frustrated. I just decided to vent my frustration here😔😞.

DeleteThe kind of malaria and typhoid in Nigeria now is too much. Suddenly, almost everyone is sick. Pharmacists and hospitals are cashing out..
ReplyDeleteFor the past 3weeks, today is the 1st day I woke up without feeling headache or any sign of fever. Sometimes I felt like vomiting. Some nights early last week and late last 2 weeks, I felt like my breath was hanging. I finished the 1st malaria drug I was given and I was still feeling sick and I couldn't see well. If I use my phone like 5 - 10 mins, my vision will become blurred, as in everything white. I increased the font size to large and the brightness of the screen, still no difference. I will have to keep my phone for some minutes before I will use it again. I thought I was going blind. Honestly, it scared me.
I went back to lab, did a test for typhoid, malaria, checked my sugar level, BP and blood level. Everything came out fine but malaria was still positive but low. I started malaria treatment again and I was given vitamin A for my eyes ....
Thank God for life. I'm very good now and since last week Tuesday night, I can see 101% well.....
Let no one come here and tell me is COVID-19. I eat well, taste and smell things and do my sit up every morning all that time. No cough. Every morning I wake up, I will breath in and hold my breath for 10sec, but no cough.
All through that time, I act strong but deep down, I know I was weak.
PS:
I prefer to swallow all the drugs in a pharmacy than to take injection.. I dey fear Injection... Hehehehe

ReplyDeleteGod please take the wheel. My heart is so heavy. I have had a long sleepless weekend. I was given termination letter where l worked last Friday. It came to me as a SHOCK. I was happy when they asked us to resume only to be handed a termination letter. I nearly fainted because l have no plan B. I am still in shock. Corona ooo!!. I spent the small savings l had during this lockdown on feeding and my aged parents who look up to me for survival. Chim!. I can't even think straight. Tears flow uncontrollably. God please look upon me with mercy!!. Take this deep pain away.
