Man Who Beheaded Friend Over N13 Million Confesses And Says He Is Being Haunted

A 29-year-old man has paid the supreme price for telling his friend about a heavy sum his South Africa based elder brother sent to him for the completion of his (elder brother’s) housing project back home in Nigeria.

murder suspect, Moses Moses, confessed to hacking his 29-year-old friend and colleague, Abuchi Wisdom Nwachukwu to death over the sum of N13million credit alert he saw on his phone.

Moses Moses confessed to the crime after he was paraded by the men of the Edo State Police Command.

The victim’s elder brother based in South Africa had sent him N13million to complete his building construction project in the state.

However, Nwachukwu was hacked to death and his head cut off on 8th January 2020, by his friend, during a night shift duty at the table water company where both of them worked in Auchi area of Edo State.

Moses cut off Nwachukwu’s lifeless body so that it would not be recognised before dumping the body in a bush close to the company.

After killing him, he then took the victim’s phone and ATM card to internet fraudsters based in Auchi who withdrew N2.2million from Nwachukwu’s account, while he went on to make other withdrawals from POS in various points in State.

Nwachukwu’s headless body was found by the police in Auchi, who could not identify him but the remains were taken to the mortuary.

The deceased’s sudden disappearance with his line switched off got his relatives in Imo State and his brother in South Africa worried.

His brother was said to have written a petition to the Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed after some months of his disappearance while operatives of the Intelligence Response Team, IRT, headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, were directed to carry out an investigation.

It was gathered that, weeks into their investigation, the IRT operatives were able to trace all POS transactions Moses did with Nwachukwu’s ATM cards, in Benin, Ore, and Auchi areas of Edo State before they finally arrested him in a hotel where he was hiding in Auchi.

During his interrogation, he confessed to the crime and led the operatives in arresting his other accomplices; Yusuf Sagiru, Tony Bright, Terence Okochukwu and a businessman Jahswill Ogbonnaya, who assisted him in withdrawing a total sum of N6million from the account.

When Moses was interviewed during the parade by newsmen, the 27-year-old native of Auchi, said his friend’s ghost had been haunting him from the day he killed him.

He said; “I’ve been working in a table water company in Abely area of Auchi in the last four years and when Nwachukwu got a job in the factory I was the person who taught him how to operate his machine, we then became very close friends.

“While we were working Nwachukwu told me about his brother who lived in South Africa and how he had been sending money to build his house for him.

“He showed me an alert of N13m which his brother just sent to him and told me that he would be travelling to his village to carry out the project.

“I then decided to get rid of him in order to steal the money. Since we were friends, I tricked him to get the password for his phone, went through it, and found his ATM card pin. Few days before he was to travel, we worked on the same shift, and I lured him outside the company, stabbed him with a knife, and killed him.

“I dragged his body into the bush and because I didn’t want people to recognize him easily, I cut off his neck and buried it. Then I took his ATM to one internet hacker, Yusuf, and told him that I needed to hack the account. N2.2million was then withdrawn from the account. I killed my friend on 8th January, 2020 and travelled to Ore and Benin City.

“I stayed in several hotels, sleeping with several women but my late friend’s ghost was always disturbing me. Whenever I wanted to sleep, his ghost would appear to me and I would be crying and the girls I had with me would run away saying I wanted to use them for money ritual. I now regret my action”, he lamented

In another confession, 29-year-old Godswill Uche Ogbonaya, a native of Aro-Chukwu area of Abia State and a graduate of computer science from University of Uyo, narrated how he hacked into Nwachukwu’s account.

He said, “I am a trader, I sell electrical materials in Aba, I was arrested because some friends brought an ATM card, asking me to withdraw money from the card.

“I had a payment application known as paystack.com which I have been using to do my business. Most of my customers used the application to buy and sell their goods. I used the card to make a purchase and the authentication number to credit my paystack wallet.

“I took just one million from it but they requested that the money should be sent to an account of a bureau de change because they didn’t want any trouble.

“So, I contacted my friend living in Lagos who got an Alhaji to provide his account. The Alhaji took N400,000 as commission and the remaining N600,000 was sent to their account through one Bright Tony.

“I’ve been paying the money into their accounts and I already remitted N480,00 to other parties. It was on July 3, 2020 that I was arrested.

“Tony called me that he wanted me to do another transaction but I didn’t know that he was with the police and when I showed up, the police arrested me.”

    Please people lets learn to close our mouths. The heart of man is desperately wicked. If this person can murder his friend like this because of money thats not even his, what will he do to an unknown person? Please lets not stop praying to God for protection. People are wicked. Be mindful of friends. Your friend might not be your friend

  15. Our youths are now so lazy to hustle legitimately. All they do now is look for short cut no matter whose ox is gored. From yahoo,to kidnapping, robbery, money rituals etc. I shed tears while reading this story. May God rest the innocent guy's soul that was murdered in cold blood.
    I pray all the culprits face death by firing squad.

    Lesson learned:

    A loose mouth is a early death, learn to keep things to yourself, why did he showed the guy the balance? Please let us all be very careful

  17. And I pray he continues to haunt you. Wicked Animal
    Pls everybody should take this as a lesson. Be careful about sharing good news. I have always been very secretive about money. I can receive an alert of 20m and people sitting with me won't even know nothing. Even with my family I am careful how I share news. I have an inheritance where I have collected at least 50m. I will go for family meeting come back won't tell my boyfriend now husband what we discussed.Afterall it's my family issue. He knows I have inheritance but doesn't know the extent . I leave him to believe the money is not dat much. Not to talk of me sharing such news with friends.
    His not the sort dat looks at a woman's money but I just like being private. My friends too know I receive money but I don't discuss with them. Except my mother and sisters who also have their own shares,I don't discuss with anyone outside of us.

    2. Anon 17.34 do your marriage how you want to do yours and leave me to do mine as I have been doing it for the past 7yrs. It's not about trust,I was brought up to be private about my finances. My husband knows my salary,knows how I spend it. But issues of my father's house he has no business knowing.

  24. I wanted to say, "Pls if you are rich have only rich friends. The more money you have, the smaller your circle should be" then I realized that envy goes both ways. There are rich people who are jealous of people lower than them socio-economically sef (today's chronicles). So I would say, be careful, wise and prayerful. I'm just happy he's caught and will face justice. But criminals are so foolish. What makes them think they won't be caught? To me anyone that can steal can murder. From Fahem's case to this one. A thief has no honor.

  27. 2 Timothy 3:1-5
    This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
    2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
    3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
    4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
    5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

    Psalm 55
    12 If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were rising against me, I could hide.
    13 BUT IT IS YOU , a man like myself, MY COMPANION , MY CLOSE FRIEND,
    14 WITH WHOM I ONCE ENJOYED SWEET FELLOWSHIP AT THE HOUSE OF GOD , as we walked about among the worshipers.

    15 Let death take my enemies by surprise; let them go down alive to the realm of the dead, for evil finds lodging among them.
    16 As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me.
    17 Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.
    18 He rescues me unharmed from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me.
    19 God, who is enthroned from of old, who does not change—
    he will hear them and humble them, because they have no fear of God.
    20 My companion attacks his friends; he violates his covenant.
    21 His talk is smooth as butter, yet war is in his heart;
    his words are more soothing than oil, yet they are drawn swords.
    22 Cast your cares on the Lord
    and he will sustain you;
    he will never let the righteous be shaken.
    23 But you, God, will bring down the wicked into the pit of decay;
    the bloodthirsty and deceitful will not live out half their days.
    But as for me, I trust in you.(
