Pastor Kris Okotie Throws Bombshell,Says Online Services ‘Unscriptural ‘

Pastor of Household of God Church International Ministries, Chris Okotie says conducting services online is not scriptural.

Most churches all over the world adopted online services as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and in a bid to abide by the social distancing guidelines but Okotie in a message he titled ‘The COVID-19 Mystery’ said that God is not interested in computers and prefers an assembly of Christians.

He made reference to the bible verse talking about not forsaking the assembly of the saints.

Okotie said “God knows where you are; if He was not interested in the assembly, you don’t need to come to church; you can pray in your house.

“I pray in my house. You praise in your house. I praise in my house. He can see all of us. He doesn’t need computers.

According to him, forsaking the assembly of his people denies God of who he is.

“Conducting services online denies God of who He is; so, we must not forsake the assembly of yourselves together, that’s why the bible puts that verse as an imperative,” Okotie added.

Recall that Okotie accused the owner of Microsoft, Bill Gates, of leading a conspiracy to destabilize the global economy and carry out a “satanic agenda” against the church.

    1. Hushpastor, Are the following things that you thieving Pastors are obsessed with Biblical? the jerry curls on your head, POS, online paying of tithes and offerings, exotic cars, Mobile phones, private jets, moving around with mint SUVs, gun totting police and sirens, are these biblical?

Please Nigerians take my advice, if you decide to go to church listening to these shameless thieves, remember that they (pastors) will be standing on the pulpit far away from you- all in observance of social distancing. It’s you the brethren that will be sitting close to yourselves spreading the virus among yourselves.

I don’t know why Africans are so hypocritically religious without the requisite good deeds.

    2. These people thinking that pastors have no right to demand for re opening of churches DON'T go to church or they just do it as a mere religious obligation.

Those thinking and saying pastors are broke DON'T give at all. If they ever do, they are the ones that squeeze old N5 note inside the offering bag.

    1. Lol. Man full of vanity. Why can't he learn to turn water into wine or stone into bread. All these years preaching and supposedly serving God and one little lockdown for a few months and he has to be disturbing people up and down. Jesus was turning water into wine, Elijah helped a widow to find a fountain of oil to sell, Jesus was making loaves and fish multiply to feed the masses. Why he can't go learn to do these things and leave ppl alone. Mtscchw

  15. Abi. How about online offering? And online Bible?

Hehehehehe. Pastor Chris is broke and people don’t respond to call for special offering when he is preaching online.

Cool down pastor. God is teaching all of us something. Let’s pay attention so we can learn.

  16. You will think Nigerians will learn. As soon as lockdown is lifted, they will quickly pack all the money remaining in their house to give to these scammers. Since corona came and they stopped going to church, have anything really changed in their lives? It is still the daily grind bc of the bad economic policies of the government which these scammers dutifully convinced them that it is the handiwork of enemies and satan.

Abi is the transfer of offering and tithes online. Na wa!

We should all go back to the stone age then whereby we can ride on camels and donkeys to church. Odiegwu!

Thank God for the grace to know Him myself!

    2. Your spiritual life wasn't strong in the first place. That's y it has gone down.

I'll urge you to read your Bible, pray to God for enlightenment and get 'good' religious books to wake up your mind.

    3. So what are doing about it? Let me give you three tips. 1. Daily morning and evening prayer 2. Daily scripture study (pray for guidance before studying) 3. Service (do something good for someone even if it is a smile or kind word). Do these three things consistently and you will see your faith increase.

    4. @Dietitian,mine is otherwise oh and I am loving it. Commit yourself to praying,if you have time, study the Bible daily,if you don't,just take a verse a day, pray it, meditate on it until you believe it. If you have spare time, read a book on anything or any area you will like to develop or know more about eg..Names of God, Power of Prayer, The Holy Spirit...etc.
Even in your present state, talk to God about how you miss church, how you feel your faith is going down and you need him to help you. Take a day at a time. When you forget or get too busy, don't beat yourself up, continue from where you left off. I pray you find the strength and Grace to draw nearer to Him. Shalom.
