  2. These tests are "necessarily compulsory" o, before love sets in.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Most times gbenshing is usually the first test that occurs.

    ReplyDelete
  4. My generation prefer pre-wedding photos to running these tests.

  5. On point!!! to avoid story that touches

  6. Are there really people in this age and time who get married without carrying out all these tests afore marriage?

  7. Before I wedded my husband, we did ours and the church also sent us for test in their private laboratory center... The result was sent to the parish priest and we were invited to his office to know the outcome.. Very very important to prospective couples.

  8. Very important, my childhood friend died of sickle cell in her second year, it wasn't easy for her before her demise. One day she's laughing and playing with everyone, the next minute she's crying, to think that her parents were taking her to herbal homes instead of going to hospital. Rest on Happiness, you were such a bright girl

    1. But, many Nigerians actually care about these tests though!

Many people in "the abroad" don't bother with many of these tests.

  11. I have never heard about that number 8 before. I had to go to Uncle Google

A blood disorder involving lower-than-normal amounts of an oxygen-carrying protein.
Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder characterised by less oxygen-carrying protein (haemoglobin) and fewer red blood cells in the body than normal.
    Rare
Fewer than 100 thousand cases per year (Nigeria)

  12. Please let me get it;
People will be fornicating, diving in raw and terminating, doing all the tonguing of
the sheet holes etc. and when they want to marry, they start going to all these tests?
    ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
    Let me ask another question;
If someone has been living the life that Jesus taught
keeping herself chaste and seeking God for everything including
a husband, why should she bother with all these tests?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Whether they've been keeping themselves chaste or not, these tests are important, especially the blood group and genotype tests.

    2. So Madam Holy Judge, its only through sex people have HIV, Hepatitis, infertility issues, Mental disorders and genetic issues. Get off your religious high horse and be realistic.
All I have ever heard you talk a out is fornication and abortion.
You magnify the works of the devil more than the ultimate love of Christ.
Our Lord Jesus Christ did not judge the woman caught in adultery but showed her love and mercy that only God can give.

What of the Samaritan woman at the well. She encountered Christ despite her lifestyle of fornication and adultery.
      She left His presence transformed.
Your own Christ is all about Judgement.
Please which Christ do you preach.

      Wow ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿป‍♀️๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿป‍♀️๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿป‍♀️๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿป‍♀️๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
All I wrote there is about Christ and not religion.
I only asked my questions and you called me "religious high horse?"
So who is the judge here? ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
And you ended up not giving me answers to my questions?
So how many years or eternities in hell have I sentenced
those that i "judged?" and who are they?
      Wow! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

    4. The real question is: which tests are you going to carry out to prevent unfaithfulness after marriage? Which tests prevent issues with finances after marriage? Is it not true that a lot of marriages collapse because of unfaithfulness and finances AFTER marriage? I would like someone to tell me the tests which if done before marriage prevent these issues I have raised AFTER marriage.

I knew of a wedding I attended when I was still in Uni and the bride was hiv positive.

I was just weak seeing the groom so happy and dancing up and down that day
I sha ate jollof and drank malt but my conscience kept pricking me all week but what can one do??? My friend invited us for the wedding and she is a cousin to the bride ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

  15. Stella........These tests should be done as soon as we agree to start dating. You and your partner should go to a reputable lab, run these tests and wait for the result together. People dey hide plenty things and whilst some people are just blissfully ignorant.

  16. You see that no 9 in this our time and age... muy importante!! Its really on the rise and we need more awareness and ways to manage those with them.

  18. Do people do fertility tests before marriage? I know of genotype, HOV and Hepatitis though.

    ReplyDelete
  19. All these tests are very important but first and foremost Spiritual test to avoid unnecessary battles abeg

    ReplyDelete
  20. Why didn't I read "the test for good characters?"
Ladies, their is a test that only you can do and that
is done by thorough courtship not by spreading legs asunder.
Learn the character of who you intend to marry. If you see
anyone that you can't live with and he is not willing to change,
break the deal. Better than wed and divorce!
Do not occupy courtship with legs hanging asunder

  21. So what happens if a partner has fertility issues?

    1. The marriage should be on hold till the medical issue is addressed..remember it can cause marital breakdown in future.

    2. Then they will be real with it together. I think the important thing is that they are both awareness so they can make informed decisions.

    3. Nezz but there's no fool proof way to even ascertain if some of these fertility issues have been resolved until the couple have consistently had sex for a while.
It's a gamble at times, make God help person.

    4. The marriage should be on hold o! To avoid pressure on the woman, some families blame the woman for fertility issues when they KNOW their son may have issues.

  22. Very important especially when the relationship is still young and both parties are sure of being together.

    Add fertility test to it.

  30. I did HIV test before marriage, tested positive and my husband, my boyfriend of 5 years tested negative. Well he insisted on marrying me,and here we are, with wonderful kids 12 years later, hubby still negative, to think I thought the end gas cone that year, since that twelve years ago, I've never been sick except maybe once a year malaria, hubby has been 200 percent supportive, and I know I will outlive the disease. HIV isn't gotten only through sex,but if you are positive,Please be sincere with your partner, the one that will stay will stay and love you, I'm my husbands bestie, his all ,he has never used it against me, in fact there are times I will send him to pick my drugs for me at the clinic. My prayer is that God should give me a job in order to support him too
