ReplyDeleteSickle cell disorder constitutes a variety of genotypes which includes SS, SC, S Beta thalassemia etc. Patients with any of these can present with bone pain crisis and any other complications associated with the disorder. Those saying he is not a sickler are correct. Why? no sickle cell disorder patient is a sickler, that word was given by Nigerians to discriminate against people with sickle cell disorders. Patients with sickle cell disorders usually presents differently, some may never have a crisis while others may be in and out of the hospital. Being a sickle cell disorder patient does not stop you from attaining your goals in life.
