    1. I lived with my older sister-in-law and her family abroad for 6 months. Na born I go born o. Hmm. They had 2 small dogs and heaven know how much I dislike pets. From the first day till the last day, I ran away from those dogs.
These dogs will pee and poo in the house, lick my legs, try to lick my baby when he came and it was acceptable to them. I was thoroughly disgusted. They never failed to remind me how clean the tongues of dogs are, even cleaner than my skin. Like wth??? I just maintained in peace and smiled always. When it was time to leave, I japaaaaaad. God abeg o

    2. I used to have dogs in Nigeria but I don't know how people do it abroad. I just can't fit, the stress is too much. God forgive me plus the money you spend to feed and vet is extremely too much.

  2. I don't see them as pets, they are nothing but animals and I can't stand them.
I've not finished caring for my kids and all the responsibilities that come with it, it's now to add one mammal somewhere in the name of having a pet. Odiegwu!!!

  4. Pets in most developed economies are "service pets," thus very important. They are trained to attend to patients with debilitating illnesses e.g. Diabetes, depression, the blind, the disabled etc.
They are trained not to mess the house, so as not to complicate the already frail nature of their owners.
But having lived in those countries, I have also noted that many ladies especially, own (male) dogs especially for licentious purposes. Well, that is what I know about these things. I don't own one.

    1. Anonymous 13:07, you are wrong in both of your assertions. First of, most pets are not "service pets" the ratio of service pets to ordinary pets is very, very, low. Secondly, you are damn wrong to say that "many ladies especially own (male) dogs especially for licentious purposes." that is all shades of wrong. Don't make assumptions.
PS: I am a guy and I live in the abroad.

    2. Anon 13.07 there is smthn wrong with ur thinking,to think many ladies own dogs for other purposes; maybe d ladies u hang around. It is so easy pick up a man for a 1nite stand abroad, dey call it "pull" and see it as nothn. Only humans with mental issues with lay with an animal.
And most dogs arent service dogs abroad, service dogs are actually very few mostly with the disabled. You think its easy to train them. Most dogs are kept as domestic pets.

  5. I adore dogs but it appears those ones up there weren't house-trained. They can be kept outside either in a dog playpen or in the garden when you are not around and the climate is conducive. You can also have a room in the house where you keep their treats and toys. They know that's their territory where they can get to be naughty and still get away with it. If you don't have a room to spare fix up a confined area in the house where you keep their crate with a little bed inside. They are smart enough to know that is their own area in the house

    3. Hi, Samurai.

Anon,14:13. You are welcome. You are such an animal lover.😃
I feel most are just scared due to the sizes of those dogs. If they settle for a smaller dog who knows they might eventually dote on it.

I didn't use to fancy cats not until I saved a stray cat in college. A white coloured lonely cat. The student who bought it left it behind when she left to her home country after studies and she couldn't take it along for whatever reason there was. But that little encounter didn't change my preference reason I still prefer dogs.

  7. I hate having pets around. I dislike animals in general. Some people ( white especially) say I'm cold hearted because according to them, only cold hearted people dislike animals but on the contrary I'm a very kind and sensitive person but I dislike animals. My dislike/fear comes from the fact that animals are unpredictable. They can attack you at any moment. Animals are not meant to live in the same house with people. Keep them in your compound or farm. I would never keep a pet. I just hope that if I ever have children, they will not ask me to buy them a pet😓

The only thing I do is to give it food if hubby isn't home but every other thing he does.

Now the puppy is grown and it knows I don't like it.If I'm coming back from sonewsome, immediately it sees me,it will just clear but if it's hubby,it will start jumping up and down on his body.If I just hiss the dog will run away.even hubby noticed it but e no concern me.

    1. That’s how my hubby told me he would get a dog when we newly married. I reminded him how much I disliked dogs and all domestic animals living with me. He said he would again. He wanted to try me. I kept quiet. Till today, I’m still waiting for the dog. It’s been 5 years

I remember one day my mother's own gave birth, I wanted to play with one of the children and the idiot I used to feed had the guts to bite me😭 I set a trap for the moron and it entered inside my akpa aji(dunno the English word). I tied the akpa's mouth and moron was jumping inside crying 😂😂😂 God save her my elder brother came back home and rescued the idiot mtcheww

I still remember the day I went to carry the goods my brother asked me to go give someone from his packing store, the owner of the parking store has goats so when I got they, I opened the door, dropped my keys and my okada money in front of the store but before I could come out, the imbecilic goats had eaten my okada money oo leaving Favour stranded 😭
Na so I carry carton of Bobo trek hundreds of kilometers..

  12. Me that always get scared whenever i see dog or cat. I can never keep any animal as pet, they scare me even though my mum and siblings keep dogs as pet in their houses. Whenever i 'm going to any of their houses, i will stand at the gate and be shouting hold that dog oo, don't let it come close to me or i will kill it so one day my mum angrily threw one of the dogs on me and said "bia Chioma, obulu na onwere ihe na eme gi, gbou nkita'ka m fu". But my daughter is my opposite, she takes after my people, she likes cats and dogs and she has been begging me to buy her a dog as pet but i told her that i can buy her every other things that money can buy but never a dog or cat.

    1. I love dogs.

They are in the villa with us for Xmas because we had to shut down many things, we don't know when and how the impending nationwide lockdown will be like. During the last one, we kept them in a dog care center, one returned pregnant. Hahaha. Abeg o.

You needed to see them during the road trip. Haha.

  21. I think the unconditional love and companionship that pets give is what make them so endearing. Pets love like children, completely unconditionally and with an innocence that you cannot get from human connections, as most human relationships are based with conditions.
