    1. Since you don't believe in Christ Jesus, you'll not believe it's a spiritual problem.

  4. Hmmmmmmhhh πŸ€”, all he can do is pray for his son and love him unconditionally.

Parents are not always guilty of not raising their children well, when they veer off from the path they were raised. Sometimes, it's not what you can help.
Everyone will go the way they so choose.
    Parenting is hard.

    2. What do you think the man should have done; to keep mute and turn a blind eye or make a public approval of his deviant son?

Political career or not, the man did the right thing.

I pray God intervenes and rescue his son in keeping with his faith. Amen.

  8. I can sense his pain. Parenting is never easy. There's no amount of monitoring of a child you would engage in that ensures your child doesn't become wayward. Being too strict also doesn't help. A point will come that the child gets independent after schooling, goes for NYSC and you just have to prayerful. It's never easy. Nobody should claim his parents failed him. Become a parent first and see how easy you think it is.

I'm sure his family have known this for a very long time now. I wonder what they might have done that made the boy to ignore them and come out this way.

  13. Something went wrong somewhere. Maybe this chap was sodomized as a child, in boarding school, got involved out of curiosity while studying abroad or the devil is testing Okupe. If I have such a child, frankly, I really don't know how I would react.

  14. A parent will have a better review of this situation.its not easy raising children, you shouldn't be too strict nor too linient, you can't be too available nor completely unavailable.A child chosing a path is not completely the parents fault.i witness a well known and respected chief imam whose son turned a first class pastor,i heard a holy matrimony of a chief missioner daughter and a head pastor's son.It was a war because only their wives attended the union, the father's sent reps.
Our children are our pride and most times we dream and wish the best for them,so when they derail from that imaginary world we create for them,it's as if a part of us crumbled and it's worse than a heart break. The path a child will follow is not necessarily enforced by the parent.I have a friend who was forced to study law by the parents,he has never practised till date.Anoher one took utme and changed course while in school. When our children excel and make us proud, the parent joy is out of this world.
So now I understand why my mom danced pass me on my wedding day and my dad keeps introducing me to all his friends and associates as my barrister daughter, baba will quickly add LLM .
I'm scared and very prayerful about my own children ,God please let the world not mock us over what we can't control.

    1. That's exactly our problem, putting academic achievements over Character, in the old days people boasted about being kind, generous, patient, hardworking etc but now it is my child is a Barrister even if the degree was gotten through the back door it doesnt matter just get a degree or get rich and you will be worshipped.

  15. Nothing wrong with what the man said. It is indeed a spiritual challenge, God will restore him in his time.
It is a spiritual attack. It is well with their family.
I only encourage to continue being at peace with him, no matter what

  17. Parenting is not easy. May God intervene in the young man's life. Most of these practices started from the boarding school.

  18. The sad part about his statement was that he did not once state that he loved his son. That is the foundation of Christianity, nothing else. You cannot love religion more than you love people.

  21. Who are we to judge?? His sexuality is between him and God. That’s who he will answer to on judgment day that’s why l mind myself when these things come up.
Dick Cheney, ex VP, Evangelical and very conservative. Raised his kids right by his thinking. But, his daughter is gay. Make we leave this matter for God. We should strive to love all regardless of their sexuality.

    1. You got it. Matter of fact, doesn't the good book ask us to love not just our friends, but, especially those who are unlike us? Perhaps, in showing love they might be persuaded to return to the Source of Truth N Love.

    1. His sexuality doesn't mean he is inherently a bad person. I am sure his parents trained him well in being a decent and productive human being.

There is no method of training someone's sexuality and the energy they want to relate to intimately. I am in a program where many of the instructors are gay, and a good number of the students are gay or transexual and I am still heterosexual and desire to relate intimately with only a man, me being a woman. Being surrounded and exposed to all that gayness has not made me any less strictly dickly. You like what you like and what you want around you.

  23. This is sad. Did he come out of the closet to spite the dad? May God help us raise our children right and may we never be put to shame.
