  1. Recognising Our Authority In His Name!!
    Ephesians 2:6.

    Excerpts!!

"Too many Christians have been too quiet about  many things, living as though they’re victims in life"

"Satan has no chance if you’d recognise and take  advantage of your position and ability in Christ"

"Declare in the Name of Jesus, the  specific changes you want in any area of your life and  you’ll have a testimony"

    Today's Confession!!

I’m seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above  all the hardships, troubles, perils and corrupting  influences in the world. I dominate and triumph over  circumstances today. Christ reigns and rules through  me; His dominion and righteousness are expressed  through me. Blessed be His Name forever.

  2. God is Just and God is Merciful

Media headlines frequently express outrage at judges who are ‘soft on crime’ and fail to impose the appropriate penalty for the offence committed.

When I worked as a barrister, I noticed that the legal profession did not respect judges who were regarded as too lenient. We expect judges to execute justice. We do not expect them simply to be merciful.

On the other hand, we do expect mercy in our personal relationships. A loving parent will be merciful to their child. We expect friends to be merciful to one another. Justice and mercy do not normally go together. We tend to see them as alternatives. We expect either justice or mercy, but not both at the same time.

Yet God is both a God who judges with justice, and also a God of mercy. How can he combine these two apparently contradictory characteristics? The answer is that the sacrifice of Jesus has made it possible for God to combine both justice and mercy.

When I first encountered Jesus, the following illustration helped me to understand what Jesus achieved for you and me on the cross: Two people went through school and university together and developed a close friendship. Life went on and they went their separate ways and lost contact. One went on to become a judge, while the other’s life spiralled downwards and he ended up as a criminal. One day the criminal appeared before the judge. He had committed a crime to which he pleaded guilty. The judge recognised his old friend and faced the dilemma, which, in effect, God faces.

He was a judge so he had to be just; he couldn’t simply let the man off. On the other hand, he wanted to be merciful, because he loved his friend. So he fined him the correct penalty for the offence. That was justice. Then he came down from his position as judge and wrote a cheque for the amount of the fine. He gave it to his friend, saying that he would pay the penalty for him. That was an act of mercy, love and sacrifice.

The illustration is not an exact one. Our plight is worse – the penalty we face is death. The relationship is closer – your Father in heaven loves you more than any earthly parent loves their child. And the cost is greater. It cost God far more than money – he came himself, in the person of Jesus, and paid the penalty of sin.

God is not soft on crime. In his justice, God judges us because we are guilty. Then in his mercy and love he comes down in the person of his Son, Jesus Christ, and pays the penalty for us. Through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, God is both just and merciful.

We sometimes think of justice in a negative way, as primarily about punishment. But justice is also profoundly positive. In Hebrew, the word for justice (mishpat) carries the sense of putting things right. It is because of God’s justice that David can be confident that ‘the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted perish’ (Psalm9:18).

Thank you, Lord, that you are a God of justice. Thank you that one day there will be justice for all those who face injustice in our world today. Thank you that one day there will be justice for the poor and the oppressed.

  13. Take this up as a mandate to reach out to atleast 5 friends and acquaintance on your contact list either by sending them a surprising SMS, voice notes or reaching that least expected person who would have never thought of receiving a buzz from you, tell them sweet and rhapsodic words of life, tell them how much you cherish and miss them and how much they mean not only to you but to their world at large. Someone might need this from you more than life. Be that light even in their dimmest seasons of hopes, silent tears, sorrowful smiles and burdened heart. Someone might just need a verbal patting, soothing and elating words of hopes and life and a reason to keep living on in love.... Anonymous

  16. "When Nigerians ladies say they are romantic, what exactly do they mean cos I no really understand at all..
They just leave the whole romance and work in the relationship for the man to handle and would still come out and say Nigerian men are not romantic, and even be yarbing some that call and ask if they have eaten..

Please which romantic thing do you ladies do, I want to be educated"

I asked the above question yesterday in the Biodun Okeowo post, but somehow didn't get no reply. I guess our beautiful ladies were not really in the mood to school me, cos I really don't want to believe our lovely females here are not romantic but lov the idea of itπŸ˜’πŸ˜’..

Anyway, I'm still open to learning tho, cos I'm beginning to think all they do is read romance novels, watch romance Korean movies, zee world Telemundo etc etc, then sit their akpu ass down and be looking for urgent 5k up and down, when they don't get it immediately, they start to talk down on Nigerian men being not romantic and all, did you see anywhere those girls in all the Romance novels and movies asked for urgent 5k.. una too dey whine us sha☻..

    4. @Dante, I was also stylishly looking to read comments from our beautiful romantic ladies here that yesterday but found none. Men too need to be pampered abi no be so? They also need to see and feel the romantic nature of women too.

    5. My Bros ehn @ award winning blog visitor TEFLON, and #Teejay..

At the end of the day Men are "romantics but painted to be realists" while women "are the realists but painted as romantics".. Men are the ones that fall in lov and lose their senses while the opposite happen with women, instead of losing their senses, it actually opens their 6th senses,. It's the reason you rarely see women getting hooked with men below them unlike men..

We need to put an end to these false narratives that tells the worst of men just cos men like to take all the blames to avoid troubles with women.

      My submission ✌
      Stay blessed

    6. I was on that post you made a reference to but in the early hours of the morning so I commented half-asleep and might have skipped your remark. I was going to reply you at first because bringing it back here meant you honestly want the matter addressed but your last paragraph did put me off so I ignored.
I feel you do not need to stir up emotions like you implied to get the response you seek because resorting to that will only push away those who would genuinely reply you. Your last paragraph seems like that of a man whose perception of women is not only already set in stone but also embedded negatively and if the excuse for that is based on the few women you have met or things you have read then that isn't convincing enough. I believe saying some would have sufficed but generalizing and still expecting those same women you threw jabs at to give you a befitting reply is self-contradicting.

Considering you withdrew the last paragraph I'll add my bits.

The term 'romantic' is subjective and it depends on who is saying it. I think you have to also consider your partner's love language before you can be sure the kind of romance you give is what they seek. Calling someone and checking up on them to see how they are faring and bombarding with text messages might bode well with someone who has the constant hunger for words of affirmation and not so well for someone whose love language borders on receiving gifts.

I would say check your love language and relay it to your partner maybe when they have a better understanding of what makes you swoon they can build their romance on it. One thing I noticed is, some women romantic side may come to light in the form of acts of service. Some prepare dinner for their men, send lunch boxes to their working place. Depending on the kind of man you are, you might feel that isn't good enough and for you, lighting candles and throwing petals around with soft music playing in the background while having dinner might have added a bit oomph and created that aura of mysticism but that's you.

A friend told me about how she washed her husband's car before he woke up. He had a meeting for that day and he told her he was going to wake up early to stop at the car wash. After washing, she filled the air with her signature fragrance and made sure she kept love notes where he could see them till he gets back from work. He loves the act of service and she told me of how he responded after. Some women might not to do but give gifts but it might not be about the gifts alone for a man whose money isn't an issue and can get whatever he wants but the acts displayed when you go about gifting it, right? the effort behind it and the time spent to source for the gift might create a huge difference. I doubt you would say you haven't met a romantic person it could be your idea of what being romantic is, differs from the idea of the person you are dating. Or you probably have a high expectation for the ones you meet or their maximum effort is not enough to your taste.
Sneaking in love notes is enough for some while some you have to fly in a celebrity to serenade them. While some surprise them by flying them out to choicest destinations but fail to send texts and call every day and whisper sweet nothing into their ears and to them you don't know what romance is about. Though I feel romance encompasses all of these but ask yourself what is it to you then you will find your answers.
      Happy Sunday.

    7. @Sabella..
I understand everything you said, but what's the percentage of ladies that do this?, we read comments here of ladies complaining about not getting transportation fares when they go to visit their boyfriends, we have even read the one who after pissing her boyfriend off by flirting on a long phone call with another guy in her boyfriend's presence, the bf was upset with her, and even as she got mad at him in return, she still had to request for transportation fare (can you imagine the guts and entitlement) and when he refused to give her, she ended up taking his phone home without his knowledge and held it with her for 2 days..

Most of my comments and examples I make here are bore out of what I read and observe on this blog.

With the illustration I gave above and observations from comments on this blog, what percentage of girls do you think do half of the stuff you described? When I generalize, I know there most be few exceptions, that's a known rule.

However, point still remains that Nigerian girls are not romantic, and this is an objective view as related to what being romantic represents. Girls that expect you to give tfare when they visit, send them airtime so they can call, give money for food so they can cook, give them money for dinner dress if you want to take them on a date☻ Lol etc etc.. they don't want to sacrifice anything no matter how little (which is what romance is about) but want to gain everything.

The reason I got no reply yesterday is only because they really didn't have anything to say, they had no defense, cos the last paragraph wasn't even there.
Now talking about the last paragraph, when has such bad mouthing stopped our girls here from responding? Infact it always make them clash and attack me whenever I make such comment, why is this case different?

The truth is that they had no defence and they want to take time to really think of something good to come back with, since they couldn't come up with any, they ignored.

      Have a blessed week ahead

    9. If you're talking in terms of gift giving ,I'll speak for myself and say I AM romantic. I have not read the original post. My husband has always wanted a photoshoot and a birthday party but as it is due to financial commitments he has never had one. Last year I saved specially for that. Took him shopping for new clothes , paid for his photoshoot, organised a birthday party to his taste. He was so appreciative. Last Christmas I got him what he has always wanted but felt it was out of his budget. My point is I get my husband thoughtful gifts things I feel he needs but feel it's too expensive because I know he puts me and our little one first
