They should take her to court just like Kylie Jenner was dragged to court for same reason. I sometimes ponder how some people come up with stuffs and they think they are smarter than anyone else.
Very dumb move. Omotola is common yoruba name, ain't it? Like there are thousands of people bearing the name so why is she trademarking it? She should have trademarked her nickname or maybe business name. It's her wahala anyway.
It means if another person bears that name, the person wont be able to register it for business. I maybe wrong tho. Someone should correct me if I'm wrong. #spotremover#
It means no one will bear the name and use it for popularity eg we have so many Mercy (mercy aigbe, Mercy Eke, Mercy Johnson) but only her Omotola is allowed to shine with it
Omotola whether is bold, small, all caps cannot be trademarked. anymore than David or Paul. You can trademark P square or Davido or Omose.. but millions of Yorubas from Nigeria to the YK, US, Brazil and several countries bear the name. Look up trademark criteria and laws. Why hasn’t anyone trademarked money or water or air. “If you think education is expensive, try ignorance”. So what should every Omotola do when they need to capitalize their names as they prefer here on some official documents? Pay her? Ignorance is not good. There are Attorneys who specialize in patent law, not the charge and bail one behind this!
“Dr” without a single college degree, MFR conferred for what exactly. No wonder she wants to trademark at least six friends’ first names, folks born before she was given her own. Trademark Yoruba, Igbo, Itsekiri, Urhobo and the Ondo town where you come from too.
