ReplyDelete18 years was arbitrarily fixed by businessmen who lobbied Parliament that they were experiencing too much loses as a result of high staff turn over because girls were either leaving their jobs as young as the age of 13 to marry or they turned up pregnant and had to leave the job. Parliamentarians supported them and increased the age of consent to 18 years.

This is a good thing as before now child molester goes scot-free because there was no age limit set in France as after the world war it was free to have sex with under age to populate the country and mee too movement has been agitating to set the law which is a step in the right direction. In some state in the US it is still lower in Germany it is 15. With time there would be improvement in the world.

ReplyDeleteMy mum got married @16, my friend's mums got married between 15-17 . Most of those who were born before 1980 , their mothers married at 15-18.

They got married as young as 11yrs.
That's why I'm glad I wasn't born in those times.
Some dude I know in his early 40s wants to marry a 26 yrs old girl. It turned out that this guy and the girl's mom are age mates....Both in their early 40s...meaning that the mom probably married at 15 or 16.
ReplyDeleteSo you see, age of consent at 15 isn't bad after all by law..it doesn't mean that you MUST start having sex at 15 and even if you do, still all good as 15 - 25 is the peak of a woman's fertility.
Anything after 30, they start panicking.
ROCKSTAR the fertllity analyst wehdone, consent age 15, according to you because of a woman's fertile season, and women start to panick once after 30 how, where when or who said it ?
