  5. Nigerian men are lucky when it comes to this DNA issue o.

For abroad, even if you find out you’re not the biological father, the court can still make you pay child support simply because you’ve been in the child’s life for a number of years or because you’re on the child’s birth certificate.

Here in naija, you can decide to ask them both to leave and cease all interaction.

My colleague is still paying for a boy that is not his, simply because the court decided he ‘enjoyed’ some of the boy’s growing up years as a regular father. Only 3 years o

The mother won’t even allow the boy to speak to him but he still pays support. Very unfair.

He has a court case about it next week. I hope he wins.

    1. I have watched the video of a female barrister who said it is the same thing in Nigerian law too. She cited some cases self. Lawyers in house can research and enlighten us better. Maybe Stella should consult and do a post on that. It will be an eye opener.

    3. Wow that's strange..maybe your colleague didn't hire a good lawsyer. So what becomes of the child's true father? He will pay absolutely nothing?

    4. @anon 19:36 that's how it ought to be honestly. Besides it's not the child's fault. Its the mother's. I can still father such a child but distant myself from the mother. He's still my child

    6. It's not an alien's sperm that entered into her body, it is men like you that do it. It's what you men do. How about you stick to just your partner. Has that thought ever occurred to you? Mr thinker.

    1. Ntoor for them.

Nigerian men and hypocrisy. Now you are realising that all the time your quiet, "submissive" wife was tolerating your blatant cheating, she was having her quiet revenge.

  13. children are blessings. in igboland , till tomorrow, some old men will marry young girls that got preagnant out of wedlock, just to claim the child. If i were a man, and after many years i discover the children are not mine, it wont change anything. I will continue to protect and love the children, how to manage their mother is a different game. That is the price i put on children and family. This generation dont know how to build anything, they cannot build their families not to talk of a society. all they know is me, me,me. God help us.
