Actress Adesua Etomi And Musician Banky W Share Motivational Story About Their Painful Journey Towards Having A Child

Actress Adesua Etomi and Musician Banky W Shared their painful story about trying to conceive and having it happen only to lose the pregnancy.....
They talk about crying to release their pain and hope their story will give someone hope....

Adesua

We got married in 2017, we had planned out our lives, like we were going to be very busy, let's have children now but nothing came through. We tried and tried nothing happened, I remember having a conversation with him, I told him let's do IVF and banky was like calm down, it isn't even up to a year, let's give it a year. When it got to a year I reminded him about the IVF, and we prayed about it and we did got pregnant with twins.

Banky:

In that first year, talk to us about dealing with disappointment every month.

Adesua

it was lik
e a monthly disappointment, and anyone will tell you that when you are waiting for a child, one or two months seems too long.. talk less about people who have waited for years and years. So it was constant disappointment and trying to stay in the place of faith and believe that God doesn't lie and for some reasons he is just kind of slow in your opinion.. it was really tough and I'm really grateful for banky who will always call me back, dealing with pressure that is external.

I felt like God was not coming through, it was like a monthly breakdown. We had multiple failed IVF, I have veins in my hand that no longer work.
IVF is a tasking thing emotional, physically and very tough for any woman.
During that period of IVF, I was bloated and people thought I was pregnant but it was really a tough period for me. The second IVF did not work at all.

We got pregnant with our son after two and a half years, and I can tell you that for that two and a half years someone trolled me. I couldn't have an opinion without someone telling me go and born, you are barren , you did something with your womb. I heard all sort of things and I would go back to God and say Lord they know I serve you, they are mocking you not me. My mom was a pastor and women who were also looking for children went to her for prayers so I knew the agony they went through.

Banky

At the end of the year we found a place with a good track record, so we started the IVF process, so how was it?

Adesua

first of all I want to give a huge shout out to every single women that has gone through IVF, I have veins in my hands that no longer work, they are so traumatized that you can't get blood from them. IVF is very tasking, emotional, physically and mentally and very tough. it was very tough. I went through this and also hearing rumors, you are barren, your husband is impotent and that I have used my womb for something. The internet has given people room to transfer their pains to others.

I came out to share my experience because I promised God and I know our testimony is tied to so many people so there is nothing anyone can do to make me shut up about the goodness of God.

So we got pregnant and we got pregnant with twins, we had gone for the scan, we had seen the heartbeats, at this point very few people knew when it happened, every report you have hear is a lie because no one knew when it happened. We saw the heartbeats and everything was okay. During a routine  check-up, we went back to the hospital to have a scan and I just saw the doctor's face. You know sometimes when something is wrong you can tell. She (doctor) was scanning and I asked her what is wrong? , she said "oh nothing" then looked at the nurses face she was looked funny.. I asked what was wrong? she said "Adesua I am looking for the heartbeats? I said " for two of them?" she said "yes" I started laughing because it didn't make any sense to me, I'm like what do you mean that you cant find the heartbeats of both? she said yeah.

So I went home, I literally collapsed on the floor and wailed. Banky wasn't home at that time. Wailing is not the same thing as crying.. wailing is a deep groaning in your chest, it is like a hurt you can't get rid off.

I'm sharing this because so many women go through this but no one talks about it, because it's almost like a thing of shame for whatever reason and I don't know why. You don't control your body, you don't recreate yourself. it's funny how we can accept that every other organs needs help. You can get a heart transplant, or kidneys But when it gets to the reproductive organs, it's a dirty topic, no one wants to talks about it and I think it's really important we talk about it.

Banky

So we decided over that the weekend we were going to pray because we believe God can do anything, impossible is possible with him. We were to go back on Monday or Tuesday for a scan believing that God will come through.

When we went to the hospital for scan, not only were their heartbeats missing but we noticed that the embryos were shrinking decaying and dying, this was towards the end of the first trimester. When we found out that we were loosing them and we had to do an evacuation. It was a very emotional time and she cried. You know as a man, let me tell you that women are stronger than men, crying is not a sign of weakness but as a man you have been trained be strong you shouldn't shed a tear, she feeling a certain way and I'm holding and, telling her i am going to be there for her... it's okay.

But the day we cried together, was the day of the evacuation, the day the dead embryos was removed, we went to the hospital for the procedure. Adesua is one of the strongest persons I know but I have never seen her in so much pains, emotional and physical. For someone like me who's love language is helping and fixing the problem. There was absolutely nothing i could do at that time.

When we come home from the hospital, I helped her up the stairs, we sat on the couch and I held her in my arm then we cried... it's okay we cry, having faith in God shouldn't stop you from crying, it won't stop you from hurting or bad times but your faith in God will help you heal, get back up and it will help you get the answers that you are looking for..
After we cried there was a peace amongst both of us. the peace that passed all human understanding, it's not that you won't go through the storm but you will have his peace and comfort.

*Awwwww, my heart melted with so much love towards this beautiful couple...Oh Lord continue to bless them beyond their expectations.....

    8. Exactly this pain is so real. I have gone through exactly what they went through, conceiving, losing the child, evacuation etc. I am still trusting God and I know it will come to pass. However, I thank God daily for the gift of a supportive husband. I truly don't know what I would have done without him. Ensuring nobody, including his parents, dare to ask me 'how far'?

  16. Yesterday was bittersweet for me. At my best friend’s wedding reception, we got a dreadful news that another of our friend is in the hospital..her cervix gave way and she’s about to lose her 6 months pregnancy. I left with a few to go be with her and we watched her go into labour and birth a dead baby. Sigh! I couldn’t even hold her cos everybody advised against it since I was heavily pregnant myself.

I called hubs to come take me home and to distract myself, I came online to see the video of Adesuwa and Banky then I got to the part they talked about losing their twins..I couldn’t hold myself anymore. I sobbed hard while cradling my tummy. My husband couldn’t do much as he was driving but he held my thigh occasionally and allowed me cry.

I’m still distraught today and as Banky said..it’s okay to feel sad even when you have hope. I prayed for my dear friend and for everyone passing through one agony or the other and I prayed for my rainbow baby. I’m ready when you are, my child. ❤️

Most people have same expectation after wedding: to start birthing babies..but we medical professionals will tell couples to try for 2 years constantly before you start with any assistance. IVF in the first/second year is unusual though. In their case, there may have been an issue given Banky's medical history. Happy for them that it all worked well. Map out your desires and ask God for what he wants as only the will of God will prevail. They didn’t have it as they planned but they are entitled to having their own desires. Yes they have money but Banky worked for his money. People seem to forget he was a graduate of Engineering who took a leap and returned to Naija when folks were bolting out. I suggest you listen to his The Waterbrook sermons on his journey, not a church member or even in Naija but his parents have heart and he admitted he was stubborn in returning to Naija but I see the reason now. They are a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden. True stars that cannot be covered by haters. Trolls haven’t stopped! Leave them alone! Did you enjoy their tears? I have patients who are not even Christians and have lived 40 years after healing from it, so jealous folks, Banky is healed by Jesus’s stripes. It’s not impossible even for unbelievers as medicine has made progress in treating it caught early and his family is here and his doctors are here in the US! Naijas really would have killed Oprah’s career which was based on sharing things like this. I wish he never shared that but the God who healed JoleOsteen’s mom of liver C over 33 yrs ago has healed him. Next trolling topic miserable folks! God will fulfil the number of his days in Jesus name. He doesn’t depend on a crappy health care that cannot be trusted by even the president for earache. His physicians & medical Team have liability insurance that’s expensive and trust me, he got the best especially with the healing hand of God, a praying wife, Mom & Mom in law! 27. Where are Adesua’s haters from the last post? They knew she was raised by a single mom who is a pastor and that she was well brought up yet they caused her pain. Trolls tormented her!
I listened 4 times as I lost my sister to the wickedness of another woman calling her at home to leave her husband since she had no child yet for him. She died of a broken, betrayed heart. Why are some people so wicked? Banky W is a real man! Some men would have a baby immediately with another woman

May God forgive trolls who made Adesua & others waiting for the fruit of the womb cry whether family members or online nuisances. When they start reaping from the wickedness they sowed people will pity them. Sin has guilt & consequences. God forgave David and Bathsheba’s guilt but the consequence was not removed. God forgave Moses but he didn’t enter the promised land which was the consequence. Wickedness has consequences. God stores the tears of his children, woe to those that contribute intentionally to those tears. Susu & Banky, May God keep you both in love and give you all the children you desire and more in Jesus name. No weapon formed against your love and child shall prosper in Jesus Name.

    2. Oh dear! So sorry, ttc is heart wrenching on its own, then adding torments makes it unbearable. My days of ttc I was mocked but I didn't loose faith, I kept trying everything with prayers. There was nothing I didn't here. Now God blessed me even with my worse diagnosis. Your sis really went thru alot, God will pay the baby mama back.
My friend I met during antenatal, after 9 years, family contributed n she did ivf, finally pregnant with triplets, lost one early,no biggie. Was on bed rest n all. Had some complications n was discovered that one died again, they had to bring both out. The other survived. Was just told the only surviving one just died.
How do I even console or even make this call, what do I say to her?? All I do is pray for her, just too sad.

    3. Wicked humans, they jumped in tagged her barren and said she did surrogacy.
Humans and women especially such a wicked, envious and devilish lot.
Sebi now, they want to hear she had assisted reproduction which wasn't surrogacy as they hoped, are their lives any better?

  28. Honestly I thank God for them.

One thing I learnt from their story is that sometimes you relax and let God work.
What ever that is beyond human power ,if we go doing it on our own ,it might not be easy.

I thank God for using them to show himself.

  29. I watched the video yesterday and shed a few tears cos it brought back memories of my own miscarriage experience..The emotional pain is even worse than the physical pain;I had to quit my job and stay at a place to avoid stress;yet it still happened again. When God gave us our rainbow baby;was when we least expected and arrangements had been concluded on when to start IVF treatment.
Somethings are just inexplainable and we leave judgement to God.
Im glad they have their rainbow baby & they will have as many kids till their satisfaction.I pray for all the women TTC;God will turn ur sorrows into dancing and testimonies. In Jesus Name.Amen.

  30. Dear adesuwa n banky, may God conty to surprise all ur mockers. I can totally relate. I ve had 2 pregnancies which didn't develop n had to be evacuated, that deep sad feeling is almost unconsolable. Thank God for amazing my amazing husband. Was about giving up on my marriage before God stepped in. Was tired of praying I started asking him questions. Why he would bless me with an amazy hubby n not give me child/children? Why I had to make someone else go thru so much loss cos of me. My mockers were everywere, directly, indirectly, if u haven't gone thru this u can't n will never understand.
Dear lord, u showed up mightyly, don't even know how to thank u. Daily I keep staring at my baby bump, am amazed. Ever faithful God. I pray from my friend n those still ttc, May God show up for u all.

  31. Hmmmmmm..... Banky and Adesuwa live your life and never ever seek validation from people. Imagine trying ivf after a year of marriage just too lose the baby. Kai?!!! Nigerian society and undue pressure from family, friend s ad amebos. Please, after this testimony, keep your business off social media. Not everyone can handle the scrutiny that comes with fame and it is ok. Form Jay z and Bey for fans biko.

    2. I agree. They seem very fragile for internet scrutiny. They need to stay off and keep their business to themselves.
