  4. That kind of tradition will only be for women.
Africa tradition encourages polygamy, but white man tradition came and spoiled everything...

So technically the question is for ladies.

  5. I am married to one. One of my neighbor was married to someone who comes from a place where this tradition is practiced. She was cheating on the husband with her pastor. Suddenly this year she became sick. From treating malaria to boils and rashes etc. Finally she was taken to the village for treatment since doctors couldn't find anything wrong with her.
Her husband was asked to come home and that was when she confessed every every to the husband. Sadly she died after two days.
My advice is this:before you marry find out the traditions and dos and donts of where your spouse comes from maka adighi ama ama. If you no fit hold body the earlier you abort mission the better.

  8. No, I can't. Not because I'd cheat but because I can't be bound by demonic covenants.

  11. Well.. I'm from there and I'll never marry a man from my place cos they don't know how to treat a woman infact F9 in this aspect plus they always have this confidence that you can't do sh*t, even if they travel for years, you need to see them boasting about it. Most of my aunties have advised me to avoid our men o. May God help us in this race

  12. Yes !
Cheating has never been my thing.
One Igbo neighbor married to a Benin man, told me her husband did that on her.
Not like she wanted to marry him like that before, just because she fell pregnant and gbam ! It was marriage.

    2. I didn't make this up, she said she was taken to a shrine and she swore not to ever be with another man, and stuffs were done on her.
I just want to save the details, as the husband's village is inside Benin gangan! and l know the place.

    3. What you explained is something done out of insecurity by the husband, not like it's a general tradition that naturally affect whoever goes against it.
I could say that man is evil and insecure.

    4. @ Olomo, you nailed it gbam !!!!!! like you were there.
That was exactly my own conclusion.
Hmmmn! the lady compared to the guy, didn't add up for me, in my earlier comment, l wrote, it was rough play, that became marriage.
This beautiful lady was just house-wifed like that, by this man that was driving his brother's car with the hope, that the big car will be given to him, Las, Las, the owner of the car came for it, and that was like 11 months into the marriage.
I knew the oath taking was a problem for the lady because everytime she saw me, the next thing will be the oath taking story.
And we were not close friends yet, she freely shared it with me.
I used to have empathize with her.
And the man didn't like her family members around.
The insecurity thing was all over him.

Becausei fear God I never cheated on my husband, if not I would have cheated on him like it is going out of fashion, men from that region are not worthy of a faithful woman, don't get me wrong I come from there too. After all na on top one goet e go end before the juju wise up as a remission for my sins.

  24. Marrying men from that side isn't the issue, the main problem is the fact that if the woman and the man are not traditionally separated the woman can't move on with her life. So some men take advantage of this to wicked the woman if she dares try to leave the marriage.

  25. If it goes both ways I will, but if it only applies to my gender alone I won't.
