    1. This has nothing to do with the leaders, it’s a menace that came from social media show off, the average Nigerian youth wants to make it big and show off hence the rush to go into crime

    5. So because there is hardship we all should result to crime. Quest to make quick money, money that they can not grow, life they cannot sustain make this criminal element in our to result to all manners of crime and some greedy God forsaken parent fully in the known of what there children are doing support and even spent from the ill-gotten money.

  7. Why do people always want to point fingers. Other countries have hardship too, but their people still behave. Why do we always find excuses for every bad behaviour. The fact of the matter is our people love money too much. All they want money for is to show off, buy cars, go to parties or have parties, buy aso ebi's, buy phones, drink and eat at beer parlours or night clubs, have various girlfriends, marry numerous wives, acquire different chieftaincy titles and accolades, show off on social media, etc nothing constructive like starting a business, helping their community, starting an NGO, helping a schools, organising healthcare helps, help with business start up's, educational scholarships etc, nop, we major in frivoulities and are very shallow minded and selfish. Some things abroad were started by people to support the communities and the government. We all need to thing about this.

  10. Sad because the country is hard for everyone at least average Nigerians. What makes you feel that your suffering is superior to others, so the next thing to do is kidnap fellow sufferers? The people robbing the country blind are there but you can't touch them, but rather cause more misery for people going through hard times. No excuse for crime abeg.

  12. The politicians, their cronies and band of looters, the security agencies with their permanently sedated boss are all responsible for the current state of anarchy. We ALL have a sibling, in-law, uncle or Aunty or some relative who is a looting crony, with houses all over the place that they can not buy with 200 years salary. I ignore my own relatives like that when they boast as I know they stole the money from the treasury as civil servant and teacher in Nigeria.

Two families including children were kidnapped from their homes yesterday night in Abuja. Please help provide the relevant authorities with information as the lone survivor sits by her phone, waiting for a call for ransom. There were kids among the kidnapped.

It is not the youths, I’m middle aged but I do not blame the youths when Dino is flaunting 10 luxury cars & Zahramb and their ilk all flaunt on SM knowing their parents are thieves! We must stop the stealing and hold the security agencies + their sedated boss responsible. It’s actually the youths that can stop them.

To the youths, stop hailing looters or their chicks on SM. It’s fueling the materialism in Nigeria. Once on phone with a minister in a southern African country and he said he would call me back as he was driving! I asked him if he didn’t have a driver or a car with Bluetooth, he said NO!

A country’s National minister in charge of a whole ministry! It gave me pride as a black Nigerian American but made me reflect on my original country. If it were his Nigerian counterpart, he would have a staff of 55 including policemen that should be guarding his village, maids that should be in school, etc.

My point is that Nigerians are the most materialistic in the world, not just Africa. Their conspicuous consumption and love of Stone Age acquisitions is unparalleled. Who lives in 10 houses? They don’t even need the rent and won’t donate it to homeless as shelters! The GDP of the entire Nigeria is probably on par or less than the city of Los Angeles but Nigerians want to wear dramatic shirts to a conservative job/office! The average Nigerian wants to dress flashy, forgetting that America and the west have safety nets for the poor so a ghetto young man can still buy Yeezy sneakers without stealing!

Start by disgracing conspicuous consumption on SM, don’t act like you admire or notice it. If you unfollow or disgrace such we may begin a culture of changing the orientation of the internet age Millenials, Gen Zs and hopefully make for less desperation to fit in by any means, legal or illegal.
