  25. I speak, understand, read and write at least 15 Nigerian languages + pidgin. Then I understand some key [transactional] words in another 15-20 local dialects. As in, I fit use the dialects buy market or settle quarrel. Fluent in 4 international languages; then can pass across a message in another 7-9 others. When I'm angry and vituperating, na any language wey enter my mouth you go collect like that mbok. My mates dey find more business sense, na languages my brain dey gatherπŸ˜•.

I believe that my own "speaking in tongues" is innate. I don't stress to learn languages; languages just love me which is why it's hard to "code" or gossip around me because you think I won't understand your language. See you see express. My MIL's Cotonou Charwoman was once shocked when I "mistakenly" replied her in her language; she'd known me for nearly five years at the time and spoken her language on the phone in my presence severally. I practically learned the Korean language just by watching Korean movies for 3-4 months during the lockdown last year.

The big advantage is that you can make quite a tidy sum from transcribing, translating and compere jobs while the disadvantage however is that you nearly get a headache when in the midst of people speaking different languages at once just because you can understand what nearly everyone is saying. I'm #Amebo for a reason. Me sef tire. Maybe I was conceived or born on a Pentecost Sunday like today.
