Former Beauty Queen Adaeze Yobo Shares Motherhood Story...

Former most beautiful girl in Nigeria and mother of three Adaeze Yobo shared this interesting Motherhood story.....

A short motherhood story ...

It wasn’t until when I got pregnant with my 2nd son, (5 whole years after my first) thats when I kinda got the hang of motherhood. When we moved Bk to Nigeria, my first son found it really difficult making that transition to a new school / environment, coming from a country that English wasn’t their first language; hence, he disliked going to school and well, i eventually found out he was also being bullied in school.  (every parents nightmare) yeaaa, that’s not the story for today.

Anyways, One morning I was led to tell him some encouraging words, to motivate him to rise above any negativity but I was in such a hurry to send him off to school on time, that I forgot to say it to him  For the rest of that day, I was sad and low spirited, worried all day about him. I felt he needed to hear from me so bad, my words of encouragement to lift him up but I didn’t know how to get it across to him.

It was in that moment, I thought of leaving him a surprise note in his lunch pack the next day (I remember it was some corny joke ), he came Bk so happy and said he read it with his friends and they all laughed. From then on, I never stopped. It lifted his spirit and confidence level  He looks forward to reading with his friends everyday and tells me their lunch time jokes when he gets back. Obviously my 2nd wanted in on the joke too, so as soon as he started reading I included him and his bestie

N/B ~ mama’s how do you send them off in the morning, rush rush and throw everybody in the car

*I’m not judging*

Or the well put together mama that kisses everyone good bye while verbally giving them daily affirmations? Or the mama’s that teach them how to be independent and let the bigger ones pack their lunch themselves? I won’t even lie, I was no 1 and worse before , like, everybody should just getat now

  1. Wow!!! Wonderment, the joy of motherhood, I can't wait oooo, ASUP should fast resume school make finish, start work, marry and start birthing triplets and twins.

God help my dreams to reality.

  2. We gather from here to here and form our own.

    God please help the mothers

    1. Amen sis, I hear you!
This is so beautiful, motherhood is an eye opener to more beautiful things.

  3. Motherhood is sweet and a blessing. Lord I am so grateful. Please, remember every woman trusting you for kids.

  4. She is really a good mother
I follow her on IG and I learnt the note writing in their lunch box from her.
Cant wait to start doing that when my rainbow babies arrive.

  5. My first daughter has been saying she hates her school ND her mates.
She is been bullied, this just gave me an insight on what to do

    1. Sigh....

The bullying in school is something else, some kids are so badly raised.

I always tell my kids to stand up for themselves, when my boy comes back and tells me what transpired at school, it pains me so much.

I am just glad that inasmuch as he is sensitive, he is so vocal.

    2. Don't let any child bully your own. Go to the school and have the head of school invite the bully's parents for along with their child for a meeting and counseling.

It's wrong for schools not to encourage pupils /students to speak up when bullied so as to address the matter and reprimand the bully (bullies).

School authorities should have a policy to suspend or expel recalcitrant bullies.

Let the parents of the bully go redress the wrong upbringing they gave their child and engage a professional counselor. 😑😑😑

  6. They featured one woman outside the country who leaves little notes for her kid too. I am sure she got that idea from her.

Whichever way, mother's drop their children at school, they deserve their flowers.

I am tired of this "my motherhood is better than yours"

    1. Anon 11:31, you sound so silly, even after she mentioned that she is not judging anyone and that she is not the best mum out there you still think she is feeling better than other mum's? What if she got the idea from someone else? You should be ashamed really but I think your real problem is inferiority complex! I am a mom, I don't think I have the energy to do half of what she is doing but I am a good mom in my own way and I do what I think best for my child without trying to put down others who may be doing more

    2. Anon 13:32 she is judging I beg. It didn’t need to be said so for saying it she is judging!! It’s just like one saying I don’t gossip o but.... I beg me too I am tired of my motherhood is better than urs. No none knows the right way. We all just sort of wing it!!

  7. This is so cool. Very good advice and lessons to learn.

  8. I kiss my daughter through her tears, everyday I drop her at Crèche. I say firmly with a smile 'I love you' and I also hop and dance when I go pick her after work. She dances now when I go pick her and though she still cries EVERYDSY when I drop her off at school (6 months after),the joy and excitement with which she receives me, I'm joyful that she knows she's a priority for me and greatly loved too.
I follow Ada on Instagram and I already resolved to copy the love notes method.

  9. Very nice and heartwarming Ada.
I kiss my children and tell them I love them as they head to school.

Also as I sort their laundry, I pray, bless and proclaim goodness and mercy upon them always.
    Motherhood is beautiful.
Or should I say Parenthood is beautiful, lol!

    We learn everyday!
Shout out to all mummies and daddies who are doing ordinary things in an extra ordinary ways!

    God bless us all.
