Saturday Breakfast.....

What's popping for breakfast this Saturday morning?

In Reality i am eating soft white bread with baked beans and some Latte Macchiato.

    1. Somebody please pray for me. It is 12:34pm Nigerian time as I type and I have lost count of my meals today 😒 aka ruined my diet program.

      Saw my mother last week at a relative's wedding after 5months and she was popping. My mother is 60. I am 32. She introduced me to one program she's doing that entails 48hrs water fast, veggie&fruit on day 3 and two good meals on day 4. Then you repeat cycle. She exercises too and takes her supplements judiciously.

      So I kicked off yesterday Friday (even when I know that hunger is not my thing). Yesterday was war and anger day; but I survived. Unfortunately, my body has refused I won't do this thing like a boss o.

      Do you know I woke up 3.30 am or there about shaking like leaf. I ran straight to fridge and dragged out the freshly baked bread I bought for my kids yesterdayπŸ™ˆ. Ate it with butter till it almost finished.

      I went back to bed and was standing inside kitchen again by 7am warming oha soup and making oat swallow. This soup was wasting time to defrost and I dragged my kids cookie box and was munching with groundnuts till nothing serious was remaining. I still ate the swallow.

      I told myself, girl get a grip and went upstairs to hide myself. I even missed gym because my body was doing me one kain.

      My little baby girl called for me (she's two). She came to give me a bite of her cake daddy cut for her. It's like her ritual because I always taste her medicine and stuffs before giving her. People of God, do you know that instead of me to be mature and act like I have done so, I used long throat to bite the cake. Next I was downstairs again cutting some for myself πŸ™ˆ.

      For some reason I don't know, I still feel empty and here I am making white rice for goat meat stew that is here looking at me.

      My tired is tired and I am ashamed! I need prayers. Will be turning off this phone after commenting because I have to avoid my mother. She routinely checked up on me yesterday. I have gotten messages today too and expecting her call.

      I don't know why I am typing this. Just feel it will help me stop. Like I have ruined the whole program after my successful fast yesterday? Somebody pray for me Please 😒.

      No wonder this man forces gym on me. I think he knows I am a foodie; eventhough I weigh 68kg. Kai...

      Ps: please don't copy copy my mother's program o. Check in with your doctor first biko. I copied because na my mama. But e be like say e don end 4my own side be that for now.

    2. 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣the lord is ur strength,for some people u cnt jus start dieting at once.I suggest u reduce to eating one heavy meal a day (maybe lunch) and den water and fruits for breakfast and dinner....u can also do keto diet(Google it)

    4. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜† Anon you just fell off the wagon and can begin again. I'm also on some kind of intermittent fasting regimen and fell off too. Now planning to cancel the weekend and just limit it to weekdays because that subliminal hunger that attacks during the feeding window no be here. At 68kg after childbirth, you may actually be an ectomorph who actually needs to eat more in order to lose weight or be better toned. Please look into the literature online so you don't Mess up your metabolism.

      If you're not, I'll advise that while you are fasting, even on the days when you eat two good meals, DO NOT WORK OUT. Your body is learning to adjust to a fasted state and it is getting less fuel than before so don't induce stress by exercising except you are doing yoga or a very light slow stroll so you don't cause increased production of cortisol and other stress hormones. The reality of decreased caloric intake means you are burning glycogen and gradually, fat. Let your body adjust to the new system so forget the gym for a few months.

      Also, when you break, stay away from sugar and carbs. Instead of sweet fruits, try vegetables eg salad with homemade vinaigrette or homemade mayo. It may seem counterintuitive but fat is a better friend for weight loss than sugar since it has a low glycemic index and is not stored in the liver creating a two compartment hindrance. The insulin spike from breaking with sugar or carbs gets you tired and sleepy and also worsens cravings. Honestly, something like half the meal Stella posted above after a big bowl of salad will be a fantastic low carb meal- just less tomato stew. For a salad spread, mix a part of apple cider vinegar with olive oil or coconut oil (if you can stand the smell) and then your favourite spices. Mixing them in a bottle as a salad spread is really nice.

      Lastly, in your meals as said above, please be heavy on healthy proteins and fibres so your body doesn't burn the proteins you already have so that you have more proteins for repair and renewal especially if you want certain areas to be firmer πŸ˜‰. Proteins also help with cravings and the excess doesn't get stored unlike fats and carbs. With fats however, they are immediately mobilized with a low carb diet and if you're not taking excess, the weight slides off because there is little glycogen/ liver hurdle. With water during the fasts, take salts if you feel funny. Best of luck babe and don't eat the fridge o!!!

    6. Awwwww... Y'all thanks so much for your kind words 😒.

      My mother jumped my switched off phone to reach me through hubby. Told her I am sick and maybe taking a break (unfortunately ukwa joined that list up there).

      She laughed so hard and said I am not sick; that she knew it will be a little hard for me.

      In my mind I was like *oh you knew mummy*?. For how long have I been blind to my reality that I like food? It is well.

      She said I should take a break and try again later. Yes; ma. Maybe in September. I need a long time to recover!

      If you people saw what happened to me today, you will cry for me. Fasting is not for the faint hearted. My body was shaking so bad (my spirit was so willing, but my flesh failed me terribly). The food looked like I was eating air. Can't even explain this experience.

      I will be managing small small gym for now and eating normal and small.

  5. If i must eat rice, then it has to be this stew, ofe akwu or Chinese fried rice.

    Made this stew two days ago without the kpomo, i hate it. But other orishi rishi meat were present in the stew with correct kpanla fish. I know it's what i'd be having this morning.

    5. @prettiest Rosie and anon, how can y'all not love roundabout? Isn't it like one of the yummiest meat in this world that we're living? Please you guys should try it out, it tastes great. All you need do is buy and wash thoroughly to get rid of all the dirt in it, cook whatever with it and enjoy your yummy roundabout. Meat blends with any soup/food, that's how unique it is.
