DeleteBefore I met my man, I so much loved male company. Like I was semi tomboy. I roll with them so well that girlfriends dey vex me because of their smesme...
I met my man & he was so uncomfortable with it. One by one, my love for him won & I lost my friends. I cried ehnnn. But we were moving to the next level.
Now after marriage, he started forming bestie with office colleague (female). Me I told him not in this world ever. He was saying I was over reacting & rubbish.
So when I saw he wasn't stopping. I called one of my favourite buddies back then & told him. He understood me & visited my new base. He helped me to rally some guys (6) in my new place.
They visited & I cooked for them & bought beer. We were all drinking & watching ball when my husband came back. He was in shock! I introduced him to all of them (I don't know them well o). He called me aside asking me what's happening in his house. I told him I am reversing to my old life since he wants female bestie.
He left the house & my phone started buzzing (family members). They sha did family meeting for us. They asked us to apologise to each other & told him to stay away from the office lady.
He did stay away from her. I really thanked that my buddy. He's the only one we maintained relationship with because my hubby got closer to him (business purpose) and he even confessed to him he was expecting my hubby to stop my tomboy life; though he missed our street days.
His wife later became my personal bestie & taught me girly stuffs. I had absolutely nothing with my buddy (her husband). E dey look like elder brother/twin to me. I now have female friends & behave like a girl more.
My hubby has no female bestie. The colleague lady even got angry for the pepper scatter scatter & later relocated to meet her husband.
Sometimes this bestie thing usually cross leg when the lady* wants it to cross leg. I never had such in mind towards my paddies then. We just dey roll tire & play ball dey go.
Female bestie = female 🛌 bed

Everyone needs a genuine friend, Male or female, I happen to have both, there should be clear boundaries set though with the opposite sex.

Anon you're so right, I saw a post one day that we should normalize calling people what they are to us, e.g colleague, neighbor,acquittance, classmate etc, not my friend my friend.if I call you a friend,that mean you truly are my friend,I see u as friend,you also see me as friend

ReplyDeleteShe was my neighbor and we clicked easily and when she first came to our hostel, she had no friends with the guys or ladies, until she and I became friends all because of the jokes I usually use to entertain my hostel mates at night when we are joking around, she became very comfortable with me and I was the one that brought her out of her introvert nature and everyone thought we were dating or something because of how close we were sef😂, I lost one gf and another aspiring relationship because of our closeness and so many other dramatic stuffs that happened with guys bcos of her.
But she was a very good friend who was always there for me like I was for her and it was a nice relationship and we still keep in touch till date.🌚
We didn't need that part of forcing* bestie. You had a right to say no. Stop bringing someone down to feel fly; e dey backfire sometimes!

ReplyDeleteOnce u leave your babe or wife to discuss intimate things with him/her, or share your secrets it's very bad, somethings shld be btwn two people in love, it gives room for certain things.
ReplyDeleteAs a man, when u leave ur wife and start narrating ur issues to ur bestie (a woman) she will start advising you, making it seem she is wiser than ur wife. If the bestie is not mature enough, she might start hanging shoulder or making side remarks when she sees the wife. It brings see finish. It goes both ways though.
I see nothing wrong in this. Just set boundaries and don't ever cross it. Moreover, it's is better if you guys are far from each other and only communicate on phone.

I had a male beastie in uni, I wish we had intimacy self cos my yeye bf I was keeping myself for was busy cheating on me. I was so close with my male beastie that my bf had to even seek help from him when we quarreled lol. I****** thanks for the friendship and you respecting your self, you tried once and saw I wasn't interested and you let it be. Till today we are both married to dff pple but still communicate once in a while.
