  1. So if U.S dont step In to help, they cannot help themselves? Or is there something I'm missing..

    1. @Blackberry, you aren't missing anything at all. The Afghan government solely relied on the US troops stationed there over the years without strengthening its Army. I don't know if the government was expecting the US troops to be there forever. The only mistake I'd say the US made was not decimating the Taliban all these years.

    2. The U.S barely did anything. They isolated themselves in particular areas. Trained the military, equipped it, but maintained strict administrative and logistics control. Went into one-sided negotiations with the Taliban without carrying the Afghan government along, and then left abruptly without giving the Afghan government and military time to adjust.
What's happening is disgraceful to the Americans. Roughly a month and the Taliban's are back in FULL CONTROL of the country...a look at the map will shock you. What has happened is purely a logistical breakdown, as the Afghan army have both the numerical and technical advantages yet have lost on all fronts. The Taliban played an intelligent game. They've been rewarded for their efforts.
Afghanistan... Killer of empires, has claimed another victim.

  4. There’s something so terrible going on there. Despite all the billions of dollars spent, lives lost, trainings given, the Afghan police is worse than Nigerian police.
They abandoned their posts and took off.
I think if the Nigerian police had received all that training, our country would have been better off.
Anyways, it’s their country. We cannot continue to baby them and spend billions. We need the money for our own infrastructural development. About time the Afghans, take care of themselves.

  7. This is outrightly sad..The US should never have started what they can't finish in Afghanistan..Joe Biden,i rooted for you but what's currently happening over there is really horrible tbvh

    1. It does not have anything to do with Biden.
Trump set the date rolling and Biden had to keep to it.
Trump had an initial plan to cut the troops from 13.000 to 8.000 by July 2020, for a full withdrawal by May 1, 2021. In July, Biden extended that May date to Sept 11, 2021 but changed it to August 31, 2021.
If these guys cannot defend their country despite all the training and money pumped in there, they are on their own. It’s time for that war to end.
      The US, has moved on.

    1. Exactly. The religious factor makes it difficult for the US to go as far as they would want to or as far as they should. Lesson learnt, if you allow religious extremists to overrun your country, others cannot do anything about it. The average American is tired of policing the world at taxpayer expense. The Taliban enjoys the support of the people who saw the US as an invading power made up of “Kefirs”. They refused to shape up, while the sentiment here is that America has sacrificed enough, blood, money and sweat. Let the Afghans take care of their country. Hopefully they now know better not to be the staging post for any attacks on the US to avoid the destruction that US & NATO bombs wreaked on the country

As for the Nigerian situation, it’s not yet time to clink glasses. Boko Haram us not nearly as wicked as ISIS and reports here suggest that ISWA is gaining ground while Boko Haram is losing ground. It’s too early to conclude that our military has succeeded in warding off any group. If anything, the feelers among security circles in the US is that ISIS west Africa wants Nigeria as their base and with the spike in kidnappings and general lawlessness and anarchy, it’s not yet time to praise this inept, corrupt Goverment we currently have. Nigerians are being distracted by weddings of top officials while kids kidnapped years ago are being released as if that time span of their lives spent with boko haram does not matter. The rescues are trickling and in my opinion they are too little too late. Let Nigerians begin to pray x

  12. It was only a matter of time.

It's the women and children that will suffer this, especially the girl child.
They have already started taking the little girls as sex slaves already.

    God please ohh

    1. I know a Muslim that has quietly left the faith. I salute his courage. He said he wont be part of any religion and will just try to be a good human being. He expressed so much disappointment in Islam because of Boko Haram , ISIS etc.

      A few good men.

  14. I just hope and pray the talibans won't infiltrate Nigeria and work in pally with groups like boko jaram to wreck the same havoc they have done in Afghanistan here in Nigerian, because this country is extremely porous?!!!!

    3. No, they won’t. I read an article about this around 2 years ago..they were reporting that the Taliban declined to join forces with Boko Haram because they refused join with a black force. Being around Arabs, Afghans and Persians, I believe this.

    4. Have you stopped to think about what is happening in the country today, how most of the north is almost completely under siege and the advancement towards the east and south? Hmmmmmm. Have you asked yourself why the Americans are not agreeing to sell their weapons to our army? These gunmen, kidnappers and killers steadily occupying the bushes and forests, sacking villages in bloodbaths and taking over the land? It is like many don't really know how much killing is going on in this country under our noses. Today it is Afghanistan, we pray that tommorrow it will not be Nigeria. But if we don't start helping ourselves from now, anything can happen.
