I think it's mostly those guilty that would be bothered but this.
      I really do not care

Also people should learn to mind their business when it comes to peoples choices.

You don't wear a wig while insulting wig-wearing ladies. Not good.

She refused to have more than a child even though the man wanted more.she buys anything she wants cause they share joint account. He is a police officer here.completely isolated the guy from his family even though they are all doing well for themselves. Before you say, yes they guy is complaining and looking for a way out but it serves him as a Nigeria man right.no Nigerian woman will have that audacity here.

    4. Unique, if it were a white woman the reaction would be the same. Nigerians see nothing wrong with being insulted because they take ur so called insult as ur crass opinion. It's definitely not certified truth.

      It's called 'confidence'.

By the way, Nigerians also have their own opinions about u 'cos, after all, as the saying goes, 'nobody's perfect'.

      Delete
    5. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ confidence ke. It's called low self esteem. People who grow up being insulted tend to see it as normal and tag it as opinions to shield themselves from the truth. A confident person will take exception to her identity being insulted and address it not shy away under the umbrella of "it's not true".
Don't lie to yourself. If a white woman made that statement, most Nigerians would be angry and shouting she's racist.

      Delete
    6. I don't think she generalized my darling. Do you go about dictating for people who or who not to marry? Do you look anything like what she described in her clearing response to ndi omacha ncha? If no then she didn't generalize. Don't take it personally sis.

    7. Chisom, do you know the meaning of generalizing? Pls look it up and then read her statement.

    8. @ Unique I disagree. A confident knowing person will ignore because he/she assumes that they are not the one being insulted

. It is actually someone with low self esteem that will stop to bark at every dog because deep down they feel the insults are true. Responding to such is like confirming what the hater said is true. Not everything deserves a response or your energy especially if ur confident in who you are. If not, u will find yourself draining yourself, dragging in the mud and looking like a mad person

Her response might be too strongly worded but then the trolls had it coming!

You don't attack someone or their loved ones and then decide on how they should respond.
This is how she knows how to stand up for her family, people should learn to mind their damn business!

    3. As long as she is generalizing by making statements like "Nigerians arr so dirty", she is insulting EVERYONE.

    4. Trace you should go back and read her statement again. She insulted all Nigerians and then insulted the Nigerian woman.unless you are neither a Nigerian or a Nigerian woman, I don't understand how you are Ok with this.
No one is saying she should not defend her brother and his woman. But the person that made the comment that got her angry has a name. She could have insulted the person and drag them out but no, she chose to insult every Nigerian because in her low self esteem, she feels being abroad makes her a white woman. She also insulted her self because she is Nigerian (which makes her so dirty like she said in her first sentence) and a Nigerian woman like she described in her statement who also wears wig.

      Delete
    5. Anon 13:40, YOU can choose to be insulted, that's fine. But don't try to force it on everyone.

It can only be an insult if i feel insulted, otherwise it's just words that don't hold much importance to me.๐Ÿคท‍♀️

    6. It can only be an insult if you feel insulted - what a not so smart statement.

    7. Unique, i just read it again, perhaps you should too. Cos you will clearly see her post was a reply to a comment she just saw.
Her mistake was not saying "some Nigerian women" but c'mon now, most people are guilty of generalizing sometime or another. Doesn't make it right, but it happens. So why get so mad about it when you know why she said all that and it has nothing to do with you?

I'm not mad cos i know she's lashing out on those attacking her SIL. Her omission to put "some" is an oversight, and i know i'm nothing like the Nigerian women she described up there, so why should i be upset?
The way i see it, her whole post has nothing to do with me and if she really thinks that way about Nigerian women then that's her business and personal opinion. ๐Ÿคท‍♀️ won't change who i am.

Are you now suddenly dirty cos she said Nigerian women are dirty??
It's annoying, true, but you know all that insult is not meant for you, so why feel insulted?

Imagine if she didn't indicate that she just saw a comment about her SIL, imagine she just came online and started insulting women for no apparent reason... now i'll feel attacked.

There are even times on this blog, people come on here and say things like "bvs do so and so.." i just read such comments and move. Will i now get upset cos the person didn't say "some bvs"? I know in my heart they aren't referring to me so i move on.

I am Nigerian, but i'm nothing like what's written up there. ๐Ÿ‘ธ

    8. 15:36, what's not smart about the statement? So u accept what the lady is saying as truth? If it's UR truth, then that's for u to deal with. Is it by force to feel insulted? Why is it important to some ppl that others have to be disturbed by their words and actions - 'cos it gives them a grip of power? Sorry, it's just not happening.

      Delete
    9. Anon 15:36, if you're going to quote me, wish you'd quote the complete statement.

It's how words make us feel that gives it different meaning/importance to different people.

Reason why you can pay someone a harmless compliment, but they can take it as an insult, why? because of how your words made them feel. Same way words meant as an insult, some people take it as a compliment, some use it as motivation, It's all about your mindset, your understanding/ perception, even your mood at that moment.

There are people that take every thing as an insult, no Matter what you say, they will find a way to feel insulted.
Same way you'll find people that refuse to be insulted by people's words. They just brush it off as 'Sticks & Stones'.

You can control how words affect your feelings.

Reason why you see someone laughing when 'insult' is been hurled at them, they don't attach much importance to those words to feel insulted.

So yeah, words will be what you take them to be. If i leave a comment here and someone reads it and feels insulted, he/she will view it as an insult, if another feels complimented by that same comment, they will view it as a compliment.

This is why it's said, words are subjective.

      Delete
    10. Trace, I read her statement repeatedly. The first sentence began with Nigerians. Then she insulted the "Nigerian woman". I don't have a problem if she insults those attacking her brother. But from what I saw in that statement, she said she saw "a comment" about her brother's "white wife". So obviously, the person was not cool with her brother marrying a white woman. Now if that was her grudge, the maker of the comment has a name, she could have called the person out and insulted her directly. But no. She chose to generalise her statement because she has been looking for a way to talk down on Nigerian women. You keep qualifying a statement that was not qualified and saying it does not affect you.
From what I gathered though I can't say if it's true, she's based abroad. She made that post on an international social media app where people from different nationalities operate. She dragged the image of Nigerians in the mud before people who know nothing about Nigeria or Nigerians. If that same comment was made by a white woman, would you have found it cool? I'm sure you would have been shouting she's racist but your fellow Nigerian can insult the identity of the Nigerian woman and you can't find anything wrong with it. Wow!

      Delete
    11. Words are no subjective, stop trying to justify this for goodness sake!!

      Delete
    12. Unique, can you just pause for a moment and think about how the "white wife" felt? How the other "white people" seeing the comment directed at them felt? It was afterall on an international social media app.

You are aware the troll didn't attack the "white wife" as an individual but she attacked her whole nationality?
You're talking about racism, the racism we should be talking about is the one displayed by that troll! She was absolutely wrong for that and she deserved all the insult she got, too bad it was generalized and innocent people got hurt by it.

What on earth do you think will happen when you insult someone else cos of their nationality? Don't you think they will come for yours? Reason why this lady dragged Nigerians. She could have done it better, sure, but i see where she's coming from.

If it were a foreigner that made such comments, it would be sad but that troll brought it on all of us. I won't shout racism because they are defending themselves from our racism! I would light that troll's ass up too, i hate racism of any form and won't stand for it from anyone, not even my fellow Nigerian.

In all your plenty comments, i'm yet to see where you condemned the actions of the troll. She is the real racist here. But i guess you don't see anything wrong with what she did cos she's your fellow Nigerian. Wow!

When you have no issue with your identity as a Nigerian being dragged in the mud, then, that is an example of a person with low self esteem. Because if you have any self esteem, even a little, you would know that you identity is an important factor of who you are and will not take it lightly when someone insults a whole gender in country. Whether you like it or not, people from different nationalities saw that and some will form an opinion based on that because it was even made by a Nigerian.

But trust Nigerian men. They did not see the first insult she ditched out in her opening sentence which also affects them because they are blinded by the second insults directed at the Nigerian woman. Forgetting most of them will marry a Nigerian woman and give birth to Nigerians too.
Nigerians hate themselves. We are very racists to ourselves and feel the whites are superior to us so are very happy when Nigerians are insulted. Some Nigerians are still under mental slavery.

Her description fit you and everyone around you that is why all you see is dirt. I am surrounded by clean, hardworking Nigerians with integrity so I'm sorry if I fail to see the filt you see surrounding you.
Like attracts like, so why not change your attitude, stop being dirty physically, emotionally, socially and mentally so you can attract people of value to yourself. I won't have had issue with her statement if she had qualified it and restricted it to people like you and her but I will always take exception to the image of Nigerians being tarnished abroad because it is the only identity I have and I will protect my identity as a Nigerian jealously.
I don't need a Nigerian having identity crisis to tell me to work on myself because I am always a work in progress.

      Delete
    8. You really wish her first insult was directed to Nigerian women because of your disdain for Nigerian women. I have been on this blog for years and see all your comments regarding women but only felt pity for you because You attract what you project into the world. Alot of Nigerian men are happily married to beautiful, hardworking, faithful and loyal Nigerian women because they chose to see the good and prayed for the best.
Anyway, I'm digressing. Try as much as you can, you can not change her first sentence. That first sentence referred to Nigerians as a whole. If she wanted to type Nigerian women are so dirty, she could have but chose to type "Nigerians are so dirty". So since you see yourself as dirty, go and sanitize your mind, body and surrounding so when next someone insults Nigerians you won't feel you deserve the insults.

There are those that believe most women in our nation are dirty, though there is no empirical basis for this. Why are you fixated on the word dirty, she said other things. She saw a statement that did not sit well with her. The maker of the statement has a name. She could have insulted the person directly but choose to insult all Nigerians and the Nigerian woman. Stop qualifying her statement for her. If she wanted to use the word "some" or "most" to qualify her insults, she could have but she chose not to.
It obvious from her statement she sees other Nigerians as beneath her because she's in the abroad.

The image of Nigeria has been battered left, right and center by all and sundry. We do not have any other identity or country. We are Nigerians! And should guide our identity jealously.
Should we keep letting people tear down our image before the international community because things are not working well due to bad leadership? For some of us, this is the only identity we have and we will keep defending it. If a Nigerian insult you, insult them back but don't drag all Nigerians into what does not concern us.
