Actress Adesua Etomi Drops SHOCKER On Having Trust Issues With God

Actress, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, recently shocked many when she admitted that she had ‘trust issues’. She made this revelation during a church programme in Lagos.

She said, “I have serious trust issues. God and I have been working on it for a couple of years. I believe I am still on a journey so I am coming to you from the place of still being on this journey. Nobody is perfect and the aim is progression, not perfection. I have trust issues when I am dealing with God or God is dealing with me in specific situations. I even have trust issues when it comes to the most mundane things.”

She noted that she was a very emotional person, and that while watching a movie or listening to a song, she could cry for no reason. She said, “I love movies and I enjoy reading scripts. I also love watching stage plays. I love everything that has to do with acting. I am also very emotional. It used to be a problem for me before because I wanted to be a ‘hard guy’. (However), I have started to embrace it and realise that God created me the way he did for a purpose and it also helps in being able to empathise with people. Now, I see it as a strength of mine.

“I am also the kind of person that cries for no reason when watching a movie that is emotional or listening to a song. I could be watching a film and the scene could be emotional in a sad or happy way. And, I would just start crying because it’s making me sad or pulling my heart strings.”

  1. Some life's challenges will make one have trust issues. Especially when one thinks it's impossible.

God will always be God. He never fails.

    11. Push up and Annony 14:49..if you people were in Anambra I will say let's just sit at a place and hang out and share our stories and comfort each other, like 2weeks ago I avoided going to church with hubby because I felt drained, exhausted and lost but lied that I am tired,I didn't know what made my younger sister to call me that morning, knowing me as someone who would not skip church yet called me, when I picked and she asked *you didn't go to church" instead of me to talk I burst into crying and she was so scared she had to travel from her base to mine to know what it is, everyone believes Iam strong but recently my strength is failing me, Ttcing has so much exhausted and drained me that I don't know what to think anymore...I feel God doesn't love me enough or he just enjoys the pain I go through every month or the power of whoever the "prayer people" say is in charge is big that he can't surmount it meanwhile I have known all Power belongs to him!

I feel embarrassed, remembering it's only acting dies not help at all, so once it's a sad movie, I change to something else, I am willing to.let go of my curiosity if how it all ended than cry especially if I am.around.people.
Recently the ikoyi building collapse had made me cry so much especially after watching the man that hasnt seen his 17 yr old son, he doesnt want justice or anything ,he just wants to se his son's body dead or alive. It was as if the boy is my son OMG!!!. I dont want to hear/read the stories even discussions about it on radio/tv I change the station.

    I understand Adesua perfectly.

As for the trust issues, just believe and trust Gid, he sometimes allow terrible things to happen to supposedly good people, it's not that he has abandoned them, sometimes it's a test of faith

  8. I believe trust issues sometimes occurs from past unpleasant experiences. There are times I pray and I am wondering will this be answered .... or I am just blabbing to God’s ears. I then reject the spirit of unbelief. And ask for God’s help and strength. It is not easy to remain strong when you are in the waiting room . I try to focus on praising or removing my mind completely from the issue . If it works fine thank God . If it does not I move along . There is a prayer platform I joined and I have actually had the prayer written since 2021 January but I am yet to get an answer... I caution myself that God does not follow your deadlines . He can choose to do whatever he wants and if he has not responded then there is something much greater he is cooking up. To all those waiting be encouraged. He will answer in his time and it will be beautiful.

I totally relate with Susu on this one. Forces surrounding us as humans sometimes make 100% trust quite hard but we silence the doubts and do it afraid with the "faith like a mustard seed". You’re just a perfect example that depict just how many shallow and empty people are walking around this earth. You think having money and seemingly living the good life is what being blessed is about? Yes she might be blessed in that regard but life is much more profound than that.

Honestly I wouldn’t expect your ilk to understand because life to you is nothing more than reveling in worldliness, materialism and being physically Wealthy when you might be spiritually impoverished. You should stick to begging for giveaways on Instagram and screaming “Baba God pick up my call” in your bedbug infested rathole.

Let those who are spiritually sensitive enough to understand what Adesuwa is talking about and going through relate with her. God sometimes takes us through rough paths that’d leave us thoroughly shaken; questioning Him and asking if He really and indeed loves us like He claims although at the end of the day, it’s ultimately for our own good and for His glory.

    1. Anon it is because we have not been able to defeat ourselves that keeps fighting us not to have trust. We are not perfect but we are trying through God's help. It is only God that can do it for us. Abraham never had trust issue with God. If he had, he wouldn't have left his father house in the first place.

We are struggling with trust because of the things in the world.

No matter how hard it is let us pur our trust in God not man.

      Delete
    2. @ Yori, I am not the first anon, but I put it to you that Abraham had trust issues with God...at some point. Infact at several points o.

If he fully trusted God ALL THE TIME, how come he allowed himself get manipulated into sleeping with Hagar his wife's maid, while still waiting on God for Isaac? Let's not even talk about how he had to lie that his wife,Sarah, was his sister.

One thing I love about the Bible is that it lets us see our "heroes", warts and all, and how God still comes through as God, despite all.

  19. Everyone has been there at one point or the other. Others might yet be stuck in it, like she pointed out. It's all has to do with separating faith from fate. Our journey through life, apart from our decisions, choices and efforts, is determined by those two.
If you are too religious or a believer you attribute everything to God. If you're a non believer, you thrust it on fate. Either way, everyone human believes in a supernatural power that lights or dim their path. Call whatever you like it - God, Allah or the Universe. Whatever it is, one thing is constant - there's a superior ordinance that guides processes.
Everything is not about Christianity, Islam or paganism, there are a lot who are not in any of these spaces and still have life worst or well.

Sometimes we become weary but we eventually go back to God. So please go easy with using scriptures to condemn others

Listening to Priscilla Shirer yesterday she talked about a young lady and how this lady felt that she had been'cheated'by God, along the line she found out that she hadn't been'cheated'by God but has been 'chosen'. She came to an understanding that where she was, is exactly where God wanted her to be,so she started to find joy in where she was. Priscilla went on to say that is exactly how a lot of us feel that we have been 'cheated'by God but if we will look past the situation we see life lessons to learn from it. Life we always take us through ups and downs but God promised to be with us through it all. You haven't been cheated but you've been chosen,God bless us all.

  31. So I'll share my story and hope it comforts you, when I was little I felt I had the gift of healing, every person that was ill and we visited my mum would make me pray and miraculously they would get better until I prayed for an uncle and he died, I was beyond upset like God failed me infact it took me years to heal from the disappointment but the thing is God is God, he doesn't need to prove himself to us. He is God all by himself, he is the maker and we are only tenants and caretakers. The owner decides how and when to do things so I let myself relax that we really don't have a say in this life. The best we can ask for - is that his will be done in our lives. It will take awhile but am sure u would come around because we really are nothing without God. Take heart in knowing that you now have 2 precious angel watching over you every step and every journey and like he said that he would give his angels charge over so that u never hurt a foot, that's exactly what happened for you. May your loved ones Rest in Peace. Amen

My father died when I was just 8, my mum hustled to take of us and refused to remarry all because of us and now that she should be reaping the fruit of her labour the devil is still on our case. My second brother died 2014, then the Senior one got married since he was the one male left but the wife did not bear any child until he died last month. I did everything possible to save his life but all was in vain.I sold everything we had, plus my husband lost his job because of covid.Watching them breath their last is traumatizing, I feel defeated by the devil. We spent all our resources on my brother's health for him to survive but still lost him. Has Satan not won? Sometimes I contemplate suicide but thinking of what would become of my kids, mother and sister make me hold on. Right now I'm hopeless, no brother, no money to even feed and an helpless mother who cries herself to sleep everyday. Why I no go get trust issues.
