  1. I suggest the phone should be on vibration but switching it off is a NO NO. What if there is an emergency?

    1. An "emergency" which the God you are going to serve cannot prevent or take care of?
While facing an interview panel, do you leave your phones on to save an emergency?

    2. Before mobile phones, how were you handling emergencies from the church?

  2. It's just common sense. Poverty mentality or not, it's just common sense.

  3. I was in Church yesterday when he said it. Someone’s phone rang aloud when he was preaching

  4. Phones should be silent in churches because, we are meeting with the King of kings, not because of any
"riches or poverty." Let's learn to respect God.
If you are going to your CEO's office, an interview or an exam, you do not leave your phones on; do you?
When people who are "preachers" talk in the churches or interviews, I expect to hear them quoting from God's Word,
just like the lawyers quote from the constitution or penal/criminal codes.

    1. You couldn't have said it better. Do we go to church to pray only to get rich? Is there no more to life than riches? Knowing that one day we will leave it all here for others who we may not know to take charge of. Pastors need to direct men more to the very essence of life. Church has largely become monetized

  5. Get ready for more ring tones in church then, cos at least 80% of the population is poor

  11. The only words that come out of this Ponzi man's mouth are words related to money. He doesn't even hide his. It's all about the cheddar. Yet, some incorrigible morons will still flood his abattoir to be financially and psychologically slaughtered. Just listen to what this aturu is saying. These words will put pressure on his customers to do whatever it takes to make money- legally or illegally.
"poor people..…....poverty....", From a supposed man of God who should be sober in words and mannerism! Always sounding arrogant.

    1. I see we share same sentiment towards this man, I was so disgusted when he belittled the people of Somalia and condemned a noble profession as broadcasting.
I admire his business acumen, and see him in that light, not a Pastor.

  12. Sir, just address this issue without talking about the rich or poor. It is wrong to put your phone on ring or use it while in church, period.

    1. He's obsessed with talking about the rich and poor, and he makes it seem like poor people are losers and are already rotting in hell because of their poor status, this is why most of their members are too fake and tries too hard to meet up with their standards and look 'rich'. That being said, i usually wonder why any sane human won't put their phones on a silent mode while in the church. Like, why the unnecessary noise and distraction? And it's not like you'd even answer the supposed call in the church, you'd still have to go outside to answer it so why not do the right thing in the first place as a sane adult?

Pastor Ibiyeomie, stop glorifying riches too much sir.

  13. I think people go to church with their phones to distract them when service becomes boring. This is for the churches that can stay 7 hours for one service. I am a catholic and our Holy Mass no dey pass 2 hours. I leave my phone at home and return to it after church. Thanks.

    1. I am a Catholic like you, I go to the Church with my phone . My family must be able to reach me if and when they want to. When in Church my phone is on vibration. The talk about poverty is rubbish. The only reason Churches flourish in Nigeria is the level of poverty. Over 112 Nigerians are living below the poverty line, 33% of Nigerians are unemployed, over 28% are underemployed. Among those who are employed by the state a large percentage do not get their salaries regularly. Most of the things our people pray for are taken for granted in the west and north America. The same pastors who rubbish the poor pauperize our people with diverse tricks

  14. If you are going for an interview or to pitch for investors or a panel or something very important, would you allow your phone ring? Or if you were to meet with the president would you let your phone ring? Mchewwwww nobody should talk about my father anyhow o

  15. So this is the only analogy he could use to address the issue? Good lord, and these are supposedly servants of God.
