STAND ALONE NARRATIVE
MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS

Good day house,

Just lying on my bed crying . I have mental illness.

It has been reoccurring for years. I've suffered so much because of it. After each crises, when I recover I'll gather the pieces of my life and look for a job and start afresh but after the last crises last year, I'm suicidal.

Someone with mental health issues cannot stay with anybody because nobody knows what you'll do next. Everybody is avoiding me and talking down on me. The stigma is too much. I used to have a good life but now I can't boast of 200 naira.

My sister managed to accommodate me but the accommodation is torment to me. She talks down on me and is always shouting on me. I'm not complaining. I'm grateful that at least she accommodated me.

Please I need advice. How can I cope after each crisis? What do I do? Nobody to help me again. What is left now is for me to land on the streets. I don't want to kill myself.

Oh dear!!!
So so sorry, i think you should see a psychiatric Doctor to help you out on this and I pray you dont end up on the streets .Since you are still in control, quickly visit a doctor at the mental peoples home and find out how you can help yourself stay in control....
Otherwise people who know about this will leave you comments..
Good luck and please keep us updated oh...

  1. Thank you Stella. I looked for the comment but didn't know you'll make it a chronicle. I'm grateful. Somebody did it to me. Igbos are wicked. I've been to the psychiatric hospital several times. So many people with the condition and its always spiritual. Someone somewhere is always manipulating it. Mental illness is one of the worst disease conditions ever. I was on psychiatric medications when the last crises started. The medications don't help and there are so many side effects. Please I need help with coping mechanisms. Thanks.

    1. So sorry about what you're going through. If you've confirmed it to be spiritual and medication doesn't help then certainly, a spiritual condition is best handled spiritually. The psychiatric hospital may not even see anything wrong with you but give you medication base on how you behave during the crises.

    2. Since you know it's spiritual pls go to mfm. Or Dunamis Gospel center in the city you live. They have healing and deliverance on Tuesdays. It lay hold of videos for Tuesday and start watching.

You can still read and is in control, pls get hold of your Bible and start reading. Isaiah 53. Read it all up and confess what is written there. He himself took your Infirmities that includes mental health. Claim and appropriate what the Lord did on the cross n its for you lady..

The Bible says in proverbs, a curse causeless shall not stand.

But first give your life to Jesus if you want to win this battle. Let me look for the scripture in proverbs and post.

    3. "So many people with the condition and its always spiritual. Someone somewhere is always manipulating it". This belief is your undoing. So long as you believe it's spiritual, you are not going to give your medication and therapy the full dedication and positivity it requires to help you. The longer you believe you are a victim of some of one wicked witch somewhere, the deeper you dig yourself into this illness.

But how to help you unlearn this belief pattern is the real problem. And they are many on this blog that will further encourage you in that line which is very unfortunate.

(E)a curse that is causeless does not alight.

Please don't give up the hope of living a good life hunny again.

Your meds you can't afford to miss for a day. Scheduled visitation to the psychiatrist must be adhered to. Don't believe that you're the worst.

God too still gives us mercy each and every new day. Fight for your life. Don't give up.

Or do you think that no human will be moved with compassion after reading your Chronicle? How much more God?

You are in a vulnerable state today doesn't mean that you won't be a testimony and a pillar of strength for others in the future. Just fight!
We all need to keep up the hope.

      Love you.

    7. Ms Sapphire, wicked witch or no wicked witch, the devil is behind her ailment (irrespective of how it can be treated) or do you not believe that the devil exists too?

    8. Dear poster, if it's possible you can also connect with Nsppd a prayer platform in the morning at 7am. Monday to Friday. I pray deliverance come for you soonest.

    9. 16.42 To be very honest with you, I don't believe the devil exist. Even if he does, honestly, I am indifferent about him. I actually do not care that much about him.

Don't mind me. I practice my own kind of Christianity.

      Sunny side up.

    10. God bless u Ms Saphire! You've said it all 100% 🙌
Let him quit thinking this thing is spiritual and change his mindset to seek for recovery and also succeed at recovery. Take serious responsibility to do things (environment, food, company & associations, lifestyle, job & social, etc) that are unhelpful, or not good for his life!!! And most especially if this is an "organic madness" he must take his prescription medications for psychosis no matter what or the side effects he will have from medications eg weight gain, drowsiness etc, this in order for him not to relapse & very important to maintain his recovery and at least keep stability.

    11. Poster I believe in the law of attraction. What you focus on consistently comes to pass directly or indirectly. Why not focus on the positive side of life. Tell yourself that no one has the power to make you mad. Be intentional and consistent about it. When the thoughts of someone being responsible for your pain comes. Declare the word of God. The rod of the wicked is not permitted to rest on the lot of the righteous. The Lord is with you as a mighty worrior therefore your enemies will not succeed. If you have unweaving faith. Hold God by his words and demand for your healing. If your faith is small. Visit a hospital. Adhere to their instructions and back it up with God's words and prayers. I have seen God turn things around in diverse ways. You are the son of Abraham. Jesus died for you so that you will not suffer madness. You are needed in the vanyard of Jesus for greater works. Imagine you being healed and using your testimony to convert souls to Jesus. I dispatch the angels of healing where ever you are. Let them influence circumstances and situations in your favor and grant you speedy recovery. Amen. I await your testimony

    15. You don't believe the devil exists? Do you believe God exists?

    16. I pity anyone saying the spiritual does not exist. It is as real as this physical world. And you have to choose a side, there is no sitting on the fence. Jesus has come to set the captives free. I pray complete healing for you in Jesus name dear Poster.

    17. Ms Saphire, you said you don't believe devil exists? So do you also believe people kills their fellow human beings?

If you believe the later,so why don't you believe someone can also inflict the illness on her?

  2. Poster enroll in a government psychiatric hospital close to you and take your medication daily and judiciously just like how HIV, diabetic etc take theirs.
The more you are having "crisis" the moere you will have deficits.
In summary STOP SKIPPING YOUR MEDS.
    Good luck.

  7. So sorry about your health challenge .I have a friend who has same issue but she goes to the psychiatric hospital for treatments,at a point she didn't want to be taking the drugs bcos she complained it makes hersleepy and forgetful but I encouraged her to be taking it and she kept at it.
At a point she was so worried about who will marry her but still I encouraged her that she should not limit herself and tht she will definitely find someone who will accept her for her and behold I am happy to tell you she is married with kids now and have lesser crises as the year goes by even me that was encouraging is still single but I am still very happy for her.So I will advice you seek psychiatric help,be closer to God and just believe you will get through this and it will end in praise.Belidvr in yourself and God.Look for a job that will not stress you out and you are good to go.

  8. Quickly go to Yaba Psychiatric Hospital or Aro (Abeokuta) or Adeoyo (Ibadan) now that you are still fine.

Avoid all the triggers around you too. Reduce your anxiety and issues that can make you angry.

Mental sickness is normal just like physical illness. The problem is how our society takes it.

Seek for help NOW. Also, do not joke with prayer. I have seen a mad person getting totally healed only through prayer before.

    Wishing you the very best.

  10. The spectrum of mental illness is quite wide...what exactly is the issue so we know how to advise.
    Ie Schizophrenia,BD, Psychosis, etc
While I await your answer, please note that for every thing mental and physical, a change of diet is a very important step.

  11. Apart from Stella's advice, also do this;
Take up your bible or the Bible app on your phone (both istore and playstore has free Bible apps)
and begin to read the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament; particularly Mark 5.
Tell Jesus that you are giving him your life and you will serve him, let him do with you whatever pleases
him. Also begin to fast; any fast at all; regular or fruit fast.
Wake up midnights to pray. May the Lord restore you. Hugs.

  12. My mum's family has it. My partners 2 siblings had it. Now my child is self harming. I cant discuss this with anybody. I used to be moody and suicidal too but not like before. I'm coping very well, it can be worse for people back home because of the economy. Since thy Lord see me thru, I know my child would be fine. She's in top set in her class and I'm trying my best to make her happy as a single mum. Men rush after me but I try to avoid them because I xant live with a man. Luckily my baby daddy relocated.

  15. I pray you receive all the help you need and I pray GOD'S MERCY intervenes for you. I have a friend I met online that suffers such before, he takes drugs regularly to behave normal but an issue we had I got angry with him over his behavior, he told me about his psychosis, I felt bad for him, he has been taken drugs but doesn't get the improvement he needs but he is relieved I listen to him, I suggested therapy having someone he talks to that calms down and makes him feel at home, he registered for one and came out a changed person. Find out what triggers your emotions, discuss it with people that values you not talks down on you. Relieve yourself of past experiences that seems hurtful.live mindfully knowing you are special. And you need a special person that believe you and watch yourself transform to a better you.

  17. Poster please go back to the drs. I have a close person who has bipolar disorder. The only way she was able to get better was being forcefully admitted for a while and given her medications in injection form that lasts 30 days. After about 2 months she came back to her senses and is doing well now even has gone back to work. It really messed up her life
..almost lost her 2 flats that she owns. She is rebuilding now her finances now. You can get better with the right meds. I hope you are abroad as mental health treatment is free.

      Poster see this please.

You have to play your part and leave the spiritual warfare to God as you commit yourself to prayers on the other hand.

But you just have to play your part at least.

  22. We really need to be careful about the advice we take online.

A case where a supposed Christian practices their own kind of Christianity and says they don't believe the devil exists despite Jesus clearly rebuking the devil in the Bible. Na end times we dey true true. New Ageists masquerading as Christians. Let's be guided.
