I support the bill as it makes logical sense. The duties of the two agencies overlap on so many levels and we need a better investigative and intelligence arm of law enforcement which I think the nscdc can help with since they are not always armed.
ReplyDeleteThis is the same Nigeria where on the road, you have FRSC, VIO, traffic warders, police, army and lastma in Lagos all doing jobs that can easily done with two agencies aided with AI and cloud computing systems especially with this NIN/BVN and phone numbers database in today's Nigeria.
The fact that the NSCDC withdrew it's servicemen to go and carry bags for Nigerians with means proves his point. You forget that the money for the pensions of these potbellied office occupiers has to come from somewhere in addition to their present salaries and allowances. The uniform they wear is also a tool to oppress fellow Nigerians and extort them. The fewer thieves and armed robbers roaming about in uniform, the better for Nigerians. It is in this same Nigeria that policemen beat up an NSCDC officer to death and nothing was done to them. An army officer working with wadume also allegedly murdered 3 senior well seasoned policemen. We can't keep clothing animals and expect the jungle to get tamed.
