    1. Nah you don't get it, some of those kids can be really rude and uncouth. Turn on your wiper and tell them no, they'd still insist on messing up your windscreen. And when you refuse to give them money nko? They'd get real pissy and either make a rude gesture at you or hit your car in annoyance. I totally get Alex's grouse about them lol.

    3. @Snarker, if that is how they behave then that's bad. There are other means of begging for money than forcefully cleaning people's windscreen.

    4. One turned around to insult my friend after he was given money and my friend tried to caution him about forcefully cleaning people's glass.

My guy wan mad that day. Those kids can be really uncot. My wiper almost broke once as they were struggling to still clean my glass with the wiper on.

    1. Their excesses should be curtailed. I'm sure you wouldn't want someone forcefully cleaning your windscreen and being rude at the same time

    1. You're absolutely missing the point, that they're trying to make ends meet doesn't give them the impetus to make the road unbearable for commuters . Read up people's experience and you'd understand her grouse.

  14. It is obvious the poster is just letting off steam but we really ought to look into this by-force-begging tactics and the sense of entitlement that pervades Nigeria.

Weakening my wiper and leaving soap on my screen is not helping. These screen cleaners are not providing any value which is why they are not directly charging for what they do. It is simple harassment. They see the cars of people in uniform and don't go and waylay them but instead, abuse the kindness of ordinary drivers in the name of doing what the car can do by itself. None of them will wipe the screen of someone they know to be an ordinary driver without the owner sitting at the back.

If you want money, create value and charge for it. All these styles of begging by not directly begging have got to go. The reaction of these able-bodied urchins when you don't give them anything for damaging wipers and leaving soap on your screen reveals their real intent and mindset. I guess those who felt Omoni Oboli was too harsh to the woman waiting for money she invested in the actor's life won't get it but honestly, you shouldn't hope to be paid for constituting a nuisance.

  15. They are actually annoying.

  16. Na wa, if you simply continuously don't pay them and clean the mess they leave behind with your wiper your car will be marked and avoided in future. Beating other people's children is not only child abuse, it is assault.
Alternatively, you can use your platform as a celebrity to work with NGOs/international organizations who will help most of those kids into schools or acquire technical skills. That's called a win-win-win. little or reduced windscreen harassments-the kids/people get the help they need and you get to look like a 'savior' which maximizes your celebrity status.
Some of us find it very annoying that you think of other people's calamities in the way you just expressed it.

    1. Why can't you use your platform or start an NGO?

If you allow these kids do such in some area, they either mug you or they are informants for armed robbers.

Government and their parents should do the needful.

When they tell them to use 50 condoms, they say it's raw that's doing them. Mtsheeew

  17. Please zip it anon 5:31, people like you usually come from the poorest and worst homes. Crab on others and have little change then feel you've made it.

What are you "allowing" by ignoring them and keeping your face on the road, or take an alternative route if you can't be helpful to their plight?

Alex or Anon is the one with the problem not me, I only encouraged the use of critical thinking skills to solve the issue instead of complicating it by physically assaulting and abusing children. Hopefully like others have mentioned, you try it on one of the kids and watch yourself mobbed. You go know Wetin you no know then. It is a very shameful post and I hope Alex or Anon has the good sense to take it down.
