My neighbor can literally burn the whole house down without knowing it once she's on her phone.

    3. @Castle Nigerian man feed child? Enter kitchen? You don't know it reduces his masculinity by 1 billion?
He is a man because he cannot enter kitchen.

  12. My reaction will depend on my mood and the level of neglect the child is subjected to. Normally, I will scream and ask her what she is doing, pick the baby up and tell her to drop her phone with some angry statement to follow.

  18. Some of these comments make me wonder what type of communication/conflict resolution skills parents are teaching their children.

It is so immature to give someone the silent treatment. Of course, if you're angry, call a time out and then address the issue when you've calmed down. But that should be done as quickly as possible. Taking away the woman's phone? Is she a child that needs to be punished? Are you her father? What about calling the man's mother to come over to straighten out the wife? That's how problems start between in-laws.

Side note, my ex husband's parents gave him the silent treatment for more than two years because they didn't like a choice that he made. Instead of talking it out, they chose to pretend he didn't exist. He carried that earned behavior into our marriage. We had HUGE issues with communication because of it. I digress.

    1. Your points are valid o but you see that phone? I may not destroy it on the spot but trust me to install virus and all sorts to destroy the software. The phone will die a painful death and the wifey will have no clue as to how it happened.

    2. It's a learned behaviour from families, that's why you see some husbands keeping malice with wives for months, refusing to eat as if they were toddlers, looking for who will beg them to speak and eat. You try that rubbish with me you will just die in silence. Don't have time for nonsense.
