Feelers indicate that Yari is believed to have received the sum of N22bn from Idris.
EX Gov Yari recently won a senatorial ticket on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, he has been under investigation for the over five years by the EFCC; with the commission probing him for allegedly diverting billions of naira from the Paris Club refunds. Some of the funds have been forfeited to the Federal Government.
However, his involvement or receipt of some of the funds allegedly looted by Idris has now thrown up a new angle to his investigation by the EFCC.
Idris was arrested 2 weeks ago for allegedly approving some suspicious contracts involving huge sums. In addition, some properties, numbering about 17, had been traced to him. The properties are located in Kano, Lagos, Abuja, Dubai and London.
