Why do people wait till they are in a problem to fast? Fasting should be a person's spiritual exercise to get closer to God. Jesus fasted, he had not problem, except the challenge of getting the gospel to sinful souls.

Not all fasting is spiritual. They are doing health fasting, not spiritual fasting.
Note, it’s an “Ayurvedic doctor” ie an alternative “doctor”, not an actual medical practitioner.
