    4. Marriage has been a blessing to me
Sometimes I wish I dint get married so young, cus my dad wanted me to further abroad (like he was even begging me to wait a bit) even if I did later on, ild have still wanted it to be my husband.
I married someone who lets me to be me and still gives me my freedom so it’s blissful.
I think ild have grown more in my career if I wasn’t married but I am still growing so it’s all good.
Sometimes I feel it’s too good to be true cus I worry a lot (naturally)
God has been too good even through the hard times.

  3. Good afternoon to you all...Today's service was awesome and the Sunday school topic brought light to somethings and Thanks to God for giving me the knowledge used in answering questions and proffering solutions to some marital gaps which some elders in the church were taken-aback to hear from me .

    That is that:

Morgan, what's good, I just went through your comment on SP and I must say that, have missed you alot. Who is that lady on your dp? Is that our wife? When are we buying Aso ebi?

Again, there is no single demerit in getting married, the advantages are numerous except if you are in the wrong marital system.

We need to understand that, when both parties come together to become one, we need to tolerate each other, love one another, help each other and oga patapata of them all is, build your home with the love of God.

  5. Marriage is full of ups and downs but the ability or willingness not to give up is great. I'm married for 21 years . It's tough especially being a long distance relationship but I love my husband and he respects me a lot. God has been faithful and I'm blessed. People ask how we cope but nothing to say than give thanks.

    3. Someone talks of her regret but no, you insist there was no advantage for sure. It was people like you who talked her out of her marriage and magnified the few imperfections. Mysery sure loves company.

  10. Some marriages are a curse and people should be allowed to leave and find a second chance at love. Society and it’s judgements have kept people in miserable and stagnant situations or sent them to their early graves because of what people would say or how people would perceive them. People are quick to condemn and judge divorcΓ©es when they find the guts to leave..without trying to understand things from the divorcee’s perspective. Some of these critics cannot even take half of the pain others face in their marriages yet are quick to play judge and jury over their choices. Some other critics (especially women) are terrible characters, lazy and miserable but still expect their partners to stay and love them unconditionally in that situation without them putting in the work to progress and be at least averagely okay for their husbands and homes in general. So they feel triggered when a man leaves his wife and marries someone else because it projects their fears and insecurities in their faces. They know they’ve being terrible partners and are hoping that their significant others would stay stuck with them and keep swallowing their bullshit. They are against divorce for their own selfish reasons. Meanwhile if tables were turned, they’d walk away without batting and eyelid and give justifiable reasons for doing so.

  11. My own marriage just spoilt. We live like friends, good friends, no sex for over 7 years and counting, we cool like that. Reasons were, he wanted a responsible whore, someone who doesn't give a damn if he sleeps with the next compound neighbor. someone who would smiles even if he was ontop of a maid. That is the type of woman he wanted. A coded whore who can get contracts by sleeping with the boss but don't flaunt it in his face. Unfortunately I did not fit into that category, he endured for 2 years and gave up. Now he can sleep out for a year, I care not, just that he has refused to be sleeping out. No matter whom he fukss, he would pay and come home. Buys all manner of goodies and treat me like a Queen, but intimacy has been ruled out. Don't ask me how I have managed these yearsπŸ˜„ he suspects but no proof to confront me. We are gonna be like this coz we have accepted it. The nicer thing is, japa is in the works for me and the kids, that is the icing on the cake. We ain't dissolving the marriage, we will just live apart. Whoever wanna chook head will be 2nd place, I remain the 1st., That is if it happens.

    3. So you are blaming her for his promiscuity?? Then if she had said she was Leaving you would probably blame her for not persevering in marriage. And possibly if she stayed and said she was miserable, you would blame her for sitting and looking. And maybe if she was trusting the Lord all this time and complained of how ill behavior you would still blame her for lacking the measure of faith needed to bring about the transformation. Una doh oooo

  15. I think the advantages and disadvantages of marriage depends on the kind of people involved in the marriage in the person. People in a happy marriage would see the advantages, people in unhappy marriages would see only disadvantages.

    ReplyDelete
  16. While I was married, the advantages were having someone to make decisions with & a sounding board to run my ideas by, society finally giving me recognition as an adult when I wedded at 32, learning the nitty gritty of inter-familial relationships and getting to recognise what I can and cannot live with.
The disadvantages, being locked in the house whenever he wanted, my family and friends forbidden to visit, having to cater to him but not be catered to, being abused physically, mentally, financially and emotionally with little to no support.

    1. How adults worry about what society will say baffles me. Society includes human beings with faults. I'm yet to see anybody not getting what they should in society because they're not married. It's all in your head. Nobody has it all.

    2. 16:45 imagine living for validation of society. Loll it can never be me. Ever.

  17. There's no advantage to the man. Men are nothing more than slaves in a marriage. Funny thing is, most men still don't know it. Marriage benefits only the woman, that's why it is women who always put the pressure and ask "babe what are we doing" , "babe what are we", "babe, I'm not getting younger", etc. Check am well, na who the dance pass on the wedding day? They'll soon come and tell you they drop their surname for the man as if that means anything. Or the one they say the kids bear the man's name. All na cheap scam. Na the woman get the pikin. They only acknowledge it's the man's child when it comes to bills. No be here we dey read " don't leave your kids behind when you're leaving the marriage. Make sure you take YOUR kids!" I swear men na mumu. These people just dey use us.

    1. He's angry and irritated with you because you're a broke woman. You're a leech. All you do is take. No reasonable man will be happy with that. Most of you ladies ignorantly assume being a woman is enough. The same way a broke man irritates you ladies is same way broke women irritate a man with sense. Afterall aunty, what have you been doing with your life that you're this broke? Yours is even worse. You're thinking of cheating instead of thinking about how miserable the life you're living is. You know deep down why he's not happy with you but you've refused to step up and work. You're instead having itchy pussy. Why should a broke woman get wet in the first place?

  20. There is only disadvantage if you are married to the wrong person. Marriage is rewarding and beautiful if two people love, respect each other and choose to make it work.

  21. I keep wondering what are the benefits of marriage. People may say constant sex and romance but the truth is that most couples stop copulating after a few kids. Reasons are obviously because of post partum body changes and the stress of raising kids. Many women are just enduring in marriage. Some say they're enjoying it in public but I've analysed a lot of marriages personally and the reverse is the case unless the man is very poor and can't afford side chicks and the woman is probably the breadwinner. How do you continue to live with a man who cheats on you and sleeps out? I know 4 women that have died of HIV contracted from their spouses. I really think marriage is overrated. If it's not a rich man who dotes on you like a queen and doesn't cheat and doesn't bother you whether you give birth to boys or not, then it's not worth it. Woe betide you if you give birth to a disabled child. Money is very vital in marriage. I've rejected marriage proposals from 'nice' poor men. The rich guys I've met are jerks. I'm also well off so why should I put up with an indisciplined man and birth kids for him knowing that he may leave me anytime for a younger woman? You just have to always bend over backwards to please him. I've actually decided to be single for life except I meet someone that meets my criteria which is something I've not seen in my over 30 years on earth despite having so many men ask me out. I don't even want kids and thankfully I enjoy my own company a lot.I think men behave the way they do because they meet many desperate women who only care about getting the ring so even if you've got your act together and doing well, they just don't care except the gold diggers that want your money. All they want is to mess around.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I get your point and can't fault your experience. I'll just say be positively expectant that your ideal man will come. Since you don't want kids, this should be at the front burner so no one wastes your time and you don't waste anyone's time.

Believe me, there are many men who also don't want kids but don't have the guts to make it plain to the woman and are scared she will only play along and blackmail then into a pregnancy once married: I've seen this happen too. It nearly cost the man his life via suicide. He basically regressed and just mowed the lawn weekly, not speaking to her or the child for years, a man who was so cerebral and lively. He felt he couldn't tell anyone as it's taboo not to want children. The child is practically being raised by the woman as he isn't mentally there to be a father except pay the bills. The marriage is dead and they live apart but she doesn't want to drop his name. She selfishly deceived this man and nearly ruined him. For his mental freedom, he filed.

Please be sure about not wanting kids and go for a man who thinks the same way and is bold enough to know and strong enough to keep that commitment because believe me, for your own peace, you both will be doing it alone while your relatives hop around for solutions to a problem that doesn't exist.

  24. Marriage as an institution ordained by God should be a happy place. The only disadvantagesare due to our human error in following the blue prints laid down. Though life and shit happens, it shouldn't be the end of the world. God of a second chance will do it for everyone seeking it out there. This time with the right one. Experience they say is the best Teacher!! God dey..

  26. I actually don't want to get married. I'm pregnant with twins for my boyfriend. I want the babies, but not the man, not even any man at the moment. I want to give birth to my kids, have an hysterectomy, travel abroad with my kids, find a man with kids or a single man who doesn't want kids. We have sex occasionally and he goes home. Sefini!
